Off Topic / HTML editor and/or host
« on: June 09, 2011, 03:22:49 am »
I don't have much knowledge of HTML which leads me to search for software that is simple to use. I need to construct a site with news and databases for local (and soon expanding) matters.

What simple yet flexible HTML editors exist?

General Discussion / Northstar
« on: May 31, 2011, 03:41:53 am »
I will be ordering from http://www.northstarbison.com/ for the first time.

Before I shop, I need to know what cuts are the most tender and have minimal connective tissue (digestive system is very sensitive). Suggestions are appreciated.

Off Topic / Monitors
« on: May 03, 2011, 08:53:13 am »
Since building this new PC 3 months ago, I was limited to this old Dell E176FP LCD from a purchase made around 7 years ago, and it's not very friendly on the eyes. The previous computer I used was a Vaio all-in-one with a 22" screen, it was considerably more comfortable than the other monitors I used.

Recently I bought a Samsung 23" LED-backlit monitor http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PX2370-23-Inch-Widescreen-Backlight/dp/B003HFG6S0/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top and it was terrifying. No matter how it was calibrated, the brightness was excessive and I couldn't look at it for more than a few seconds without eye-burning, so I returned it. The plus is that it could double for use in a tanning booth.

Currently I am looking for a monitor that I can spend extended periods of time looking at, preferably 22" or larger. I would like one with a 16:10 aspect ratio (1680x1050, 1920x1200), but nearly all the modern monitors are too wide and have little vertical space. This type of setup is uncomfortable to use, but I may have to deal with the 16:9 panel fascism and just stick to a 1920x1080 monitor, or settle for a 19" 16:10 monitor. If you have experiences with monitors, please share which one is best for sensitive eyes.

This doesn't concern most of us since we are aware of the extreme hazards of prescription drugs. This will, however, be significant progress to the Orwellian world unfolding before us. I wouldn't be surprised by the multitude of diseases this crude technology will bring.

Primal Diet / Lactose intolerance
« on: October 25, 2010, 09:19:48 pm »
With raw milk in the perspective, we can look at lactose intolerance as existing in forms. First there's the population being able to digest any lactose - including heated lactose devoid of enzymes. These are people who are supposedly genetically adapted to dairy to various degrees. Most that show lactose intolerance to pasteurized dairy don't have the symptoms when consuming raw dairy, because of the presence of lactase. However, there are individuals who get lactose intolerance symptoms regardless of the dairy being raw or not. If you know you have lactose intolerance and had experience with raw milk, vote in the poll.

Health / Eating fat and liver/gallbladder symptoms
« on: September 27, 2010, 04:02:45 am »
Last night I ate bison heart with some marrow. The marrow was very soft and was quick to melt down into a liquid at room temp. When I usually eat fat, it mixed into food (fat in ground beef, butter on bread) and my body doesn't detect it quickly. It digests fine afterwards. If I eat fat in free-flowing form, such as how I sipped the liquid marrow with my food, I react quickly to it. This time I had a strange feeling in my liver/gallbladder seconds after drinking the fat. It felt "sore" afterwards. This may be familiar to someone who began eating high fat. Question is how long did it take to resolve?

Looking for an affordable, reliable grinder. Any suggestions?

General Discussion / Acidic saliva after eating carbs
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:59:43 am »
When I eat cooked starches or to a lesser degree fruits, my saliva ends up tasting acidic. The effect is greatly reduced if I eat the carbs with a proteinous food such as meat or cheese.

Health / Diarrhea 5-10 hours after raw beef consumption
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:56:08 am »
The past few days I have been getting diarrhea following ground beef consumption. Initially there is no discomfort or notable reaction. This happens around 5 hours after ground beef consumption, if it's at night then it's in the morning after the first meal.

It could be
1. Detox. I recently came back from vacation and ate a larger variety of cooked and processed foods than usual. Could I be cleaning up now?
2. Fat malabsorption
3. Sensitivity to processing method

General Discussion / Subcutaneous fat vs other fat
« on: September 12, 2010, 09:48:41 am »
I plan to order fat from Slanker's which I think is subcutaneous fat. How does this compare to other fat sources and would it be recommended for a fragile digestive system?

Primal Diet / Preferred Cheese
« on: August 19, 2010, 05:00:28 am »
I eat mozzarella because I'm used to it and it's said to be easier to digest. However, after a while, it turns too acidic for my sensitivity.

What is your choice of cheese? Any suggestions?

Primal Diet / Raw dairy in NYC
« on: July 27, 2010, 10:28:24 pm »
Does a primal dieter in NYC know where one could find a raw dairy provider that delivers. The only one I was able to find has poor quality in every order.

General Discussion / If you were to have one raw meat meal a day...
« on: July 27, 2010, 07:11:06 am »
Would you eat it as:

-Your first meal (Digestive system is less in cooked mode and not as polluted)

-Last meal (More comfortable sleep)

-Between

General Discussion / Heart
« on: July 26, 2010, 05:06:19 am »
I find heart to be a lot more palatable than muscle meat. It actually chews well and easier to digest. Would you think it's fine to consume 1-2 pounds of heart almost daily (mostly in place of muscle meat)? I would expect it to be safer since it's like muscle meat by composition and doesn't provide significant vitamin/mineral mega-doses.

General Discussion / Safer condiments

What condiments come to mind that you would think are raw and safe for a weak/sensitive digestive system?

Health / Magnesium, calcium, other minerals that may be missing.
« on: July 21, 2010, 09:44:42 pm »
Land animals seem to lacking in Mg and Ca, which are more important during development. From experience on rpd, did you run into mineral deficiency? Do you take supplements or edible clay?

General Discussion / Allergies/Intolerances to specific meats.
« on: July 20, 2010, 01:11:58 am »
A good number of people seem to describe being intolerant to different types of meat/fats (being unable to eat beef, etc...)

Can anyone describe what animal's meat doesn't agree with them how it reacts with them?

Journals / My experiences so far
« on: July 15, 2010, 12:16:58 am »
To start off...

I was born in Ukraine. I was in good health until around age 1 when was given antibiotics (which gave very ill effects) followed by diuretic drugs that critically damaged me. At age 3, I moved to NYC. In the following years - I received more antibiotic dosages and dangerous supplements, each one devastating my already crippled body. The medical visits eventually ceased and I stopped taking drugs in any form, nothing was more damaging to me. My health was severely impaired. Regarding diet, food that had an otherwise negative effect - including artificial and chemical additives, acidic, cold, allergenic, etc. was removed. Most of what I ate came from a single food combination that had the least troubling effects on me.

I always craved raw meat and heard of its healing qualities. It made sense to eat it in its raw, natural state. I stumbled upon the works of AV a little over a year ago at age 15. I incorporated regular consumption of raw eggs and honey, and occasionally had a meal of raw fish or meat. These additions benefited me slightly. The past months I showed strong and increased symptoms and decided to quickly experiment with actual raw paleo diets.

As you can probably tell, I don't usually go to doctors for help as they are the cause of my problems. They failed to diagnose anything so far or do anything besides further destroy me.

There are many symptoms and conditions I am experiencing, including (In no particular order)

-Nerve damage
-Symptoms matching numerous nervous system conditions
-Chronic Pain/discomfort in every part of my body
-Hypersensitivity/ allergy to cold (Get sore throat and cold symptoms immediately when in contact with low temp)
-Hypersensitivity to other environmental factors (temperature, smell, food, etc.)
-Significant digestive system problems (which my condition seems to be centered around)
-Underweight
-Poor vision
-Low energy
-Fatigue
-Trouble breathing
-Anxiety
-OCD
-Candida
-Symptoms matching IBS
-Scoliosis
-Hunger
-Thirst
-Constipation
-Insomnia
-Strong headache
-Abdominal pain

There are many more dysfunctions, many I am not even aware of as this is the life I know.

With diet I hope to undo the damage modern medicine put upon me, and possibly go beyond that. I will put any useful info or updates here as I experiment with diet when I get the chance to. If you have anything to say or can provide some info that can aid me, please go ahead.

Primal Diet / Spoiled butter?

The raw (not cultured) butter I received smells strange and cheesy, is it possible that it's rancid?

General Discussion / Meat cut recommendation
« on: July 01, 2010, 11:10:15 pm »
What cuts of meat/organs do you find are easy to eat/have little connective tissue/ reasonable amount of fat.

Some cuts/meats I've been considering getting, can someone who eats these regularly describe them
Beef stew meat
Brisket
Lamb cuts

General Discussion / Reaction to rice
« on: July 01, 2010, 08:18:53 am »
What a day. I needed carbs so I decided to eat rice. Ate it once, then another time and my body found a need to eject it. I had intense abdominal pain that made me fall down and yell. I was taken to a hospital by ambulance and there my body cleared off the junk. I suspect the reason was because my body was so dry (Little fat intake, limited carbs, mostly meat) and the constipating rice put my body in an emergency state.

General Discussion / How much % of your animal food is fat
« on: June 19, 2010, 10:32:18 am »
Excluding any plant-based foods you may eat, how much of your RAF intake is fat?

At the moment I would say it's about 15-20% for me.

« on: May 22, 2010, 10:20:09 am »
I have had OCD and anxiety problems for quite a while now. The past month and a half however, they have been intense. What are the most acceptable foods for dealing with this condition, judging from knowledge and experience?
