3 Weeks into the primal diet from aj, feeling great
« on: September 27, 2018, 08:35:21 pm »
Hi,

i came across raw meat eating through sv3rige youtube videos. I have red most of we want to live and alot of parts from the recipe for living without disease.

i got into ketogenic dieting 4 years ago, and did it on and off for mental benefits. i am from germany, 27 years old and my goal atm is to gain weight which is not that easy if you try to eat healthy and got no car.

currently i am eating mostly eggs, coconut cream (selfmade), organic meat, organic organs here and then and some fruit and honey. My raw butter came yesterday and i can get raw milk not far away, but i am not sure if i should drink it.
I made kefir in the past but AJ does not recommend the use of grains, so i am unsure if i should continue using them.

I really like the forum so far and its great to be among likeminded people.

Who do you mean with AJ? AV like Aajonus V.? If him, then he promoted Kefir and that has nothing to do with a normal grains. It´s a type of mushroom. I drank homemade kefir daily for many months from different milks, but I do think that it does not promote weight gain. More of the opposite I found.

there can be HUGE differences amongst milks.  The primary one is,, how much Green grass are the animals eating, and how much grain.   Dairy drinking cultures like the Swiss, used the milk from cows (to make primarily cheese ) when the cows and goats were in the upper mountain pastures where herbs and green grasses abounded.  I've had milk and cream when visiting during the summer months there.  Again, HUGE difference.  Don't kid yourself that most dairy farmers are producing similar products, especially if they are using grain to increase milk production.

Yes, in the UK farmers markets the farmers would whine that they “had to” feed their catle on grains to produce enough raw milk.

Early on he recommended kefir, but I suspect it had more to do with the fact that kefir makes milk ferment in a way that is more palatable for most people.

Later on he said he found some non-compatible bacteria and he stopped recommending kefir fermentation of milk. He'd either suggest leaving milk out to ferment on it's own, or adding a little honey, or (and this will sound shocking for most) using a little saliva or chewed up cheese from a previous batch.

When using kefir grains, I'd always worry about them being grown in pasteurized milk. I haven't been able to find kefir grains that have been grown in only raw milk for many years.

One other advantage of the kefir is that it's a reliable fermentation method for getting rid of most of the lactose. And of course you can make kefir cheese out of it as well.

We now live in a world where medicine destroys health, law destroys justice, education destroys knowledge, government destroys order, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and banking destroys the economy

kefir made at closer to body temp has more bacteria than yeast.  Kefir made at cooler temps has more yeast than bacteria.   I doubt finding kefir grains grown on past. milk will have much to do with their quality once you switch over to raw milk, especially after several batches have been made. They grow and multiply so much that they will become 'healthier' very soon.  I made kefir for many years with my own goat's milk.  The best tasting 'brew' was made from warm cultured milk ( body temp grown ) and then mixed 50/50 with fresh milk.  Tasted very much like thick sweet cream.  And, was not too acidic for my body, which quarts of straight kefir was.
