Health / Mucus, biofilm and yeast
« on: July 03, 2019, 05:39:07 am »
Well, I've been on a raw carnivore diet for almost 1.5 years and I haven't reversed my gut issues until now. After testing probiotics, enzymes, bitters, humaworm, LBB formula, etc., I haven't reversed the gut issues and fatigue. I'm constantly bloated, thirsty, and with gas accumulated in my gut. I don't know if humaworm failed and I haven't killed the parasites that I believed in first place I had in my gut.

All this time I've had expelled mucus, biofilms and some things that looks like yeast, which make me believe that my problem could be a fungal overgrowth.

Does anyone knows any way to get rid of fungus or yeast safely and effective? Biofilms? I don't which kind of yeast it it is. Probably Candida, who knows? What I know is that my gut is giving me issues and raw carnivore is not doing the trick.

General Discussion / High quality raw animal fat flavor
« on: March 04, 2019, 10:13:48 am »
Recently I've been visiting the slaughterhouse in my city to source some high-quality meat. In my country there is no quality involved in price of meat. All meat is sold at the same price and the animals that get here are named with the same label. Slaughterhouse vendors are conscious of the importance of pastured vs grain-fed animals and some are doesn't even sure of what type of animals are they selling.

The thing is. I'm walking in the slaughterhouse surrounded of a hundred of lamb, mutton and beef carcasses. I'm looking for fatty mutton. If there is no one watching me, I can steal a piece of fat that is on the belly or on the kidney area to determine if that animal was pasture-raised or not. The thing is that I'm not well-experienced to determine what the flavor exactly represents.

Last week I found one of the most fatty mutton I've ever seen on my short life. I asked if it was fattened or was It was "natural" which is the word they use for pasture-raised. They told me "yes, It was fattened naturally". I thought that she tried to combine the two possible answers and tried to cheat on me. I asked "What you mean?". She said "I mean that he was fattened naturally on grass". Well, I wanted to drop my raw butter as a source of fat because I think is giving me problems and I could not resist the temptation to buy the most fatty piece of meat I've seen on my life, which maybe is not for you, but for me finding pasture-raised fatty meat is almost a dream. I bought half a sheep. It looked and smell well. When I came to my house I tasted the fat. It tasted mild, like water or something like that. Not grassy or gamy. I don't know, It was strange. I thought that lamb tend to taste very lamb-my, especially if It is a mutton fed grass. Even tho, It's summer today and I felt the fat melting on my hands and on my table which I believe It's a good sign because I've seen that grain-fed animals tend to have very hard and waxy fat. I will share some pictures of the meat 3 days aging on my fridge and I would like to hear your comments.

I would like to know your experiences related to tasting raw fats. I'm not talking only about flavor, but texture, melting point and whatever you had identify about good quality fat.

Thanks for reading this post which may sound stupid for some, but I find it very critical on my journey on finding real food.

These refutes the hypothesis that a carnivore gut is sterile or is devoided of bacteria. Collagen, branched amino-acids, skin and bones are fermented in the gut and produce short chain fatty acids.

General Discussion / Fruit controls
« on: November 20, 2018, 09:27:46 pm »
Does someone has an opinion about fruit controls?
I refer to these police officers that block you from carrying fruit to an are which is highly productive on fruit
For example, if you travel to California they inspect you if you are carrying fruit to avoid bad bugs or flies to crops.
Isn't this another way to avoid plague or "bacteria". Do you think this does more harm than good?
I think we are making fruit less resilient against plague but I'm not sure if this is good or bad for us. It has a lot of points of view.

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / How much iodine for a carnivore?
« on: November 15, 2018, 08:44:16 pm »
Hi guys,
The thing is that I really don't enjoy eating raw seafood. Everything taste much "fishy". I thinking in just buying the minimum amount of seafood to cover my weekly idione requirements.
So, here are my questions:
How much iodine do I need to consume in a day to cover my weekly requirements?
What are my best options? I want to consume the least amount of seafood possible for the maximum amount of iodine.
I want to avoid algae and supplements. I go for real food. I'm gaining weight and feel very cold when taking showers, so I think I need to up my thyroid.

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Sleepiness after eating
« on: November 13, 2018, 11:31:55 pm »
Hello. I've been raw zero carb for 2 months now.
At the moment I still have problems digesting fat and some hard proteins like collagen or skin.
My question now is that It's been several times now that I feel sleepy, foggy or dizzy after my meal. Also, I feel my extremeties heavy and internally congested. Like my blood is thick and makes my movements more sluggish.

Hope someone has an opinion, thanks!

Health / Just one more thing to be completely healed
« on: November 04, 2018, 11:39:23 pm »
Hello guys,
I've been changing my diet a lot of times trying to find the way to overcome my food addiction and my SIBO.
After a very long journey I've come to a raw almost-carnivore diet. Mi history with SIBO comes from a severe case of constipation followed by a colon hydrotherapy
Regarding my food addiction, I'm consider myself cured. But, regarding my GI problems, I don't think so.
After switching to my carnivore diet I have no more diarrhea, stomach pain or nausea. What I have now is the following symptoms:

- Gas and/or water on the lower left side of my colon (sigmoid)
- Burping on my lower left side of my  colon (sigmoid)
- Vibration and gas burping on my rectum
- Intermittent bloating
- Not feeling the urge to go

I have bowel movements but I feel like they are incomplete. I feel bloating and discomfort every sitting.
When I stand up it's very hard to maintain my abdomen not distended and, if I deep breath, I make my belly growl.

I'm very dependan on Magnesium Citrate, lime and ACV every morning to feel the urge to go. This kind of symptoms makes me think of a kind of obstruction in my bowels but I'm not sure because a time a go when I ate a cooked carnivore diet I excreted more waste and it passed normal through my large intestines.

I really want to fix this. Because is the only problem I haven't healed so far. Hope you can help me.

General Discussion / Best type of fridge for hanging meat.
« on: October 13, 2018, 08:31:46 am »
Hello guys, I'm a raw paleo newbee and I've been reading your posts quietly for several weeks. Today I decided to ask a question because I really want to do this right and try to not expose myself to a dangerous health situation.

So, first is safety. I've looked up that the best way to keep meat fresh or at least dry aged is in a refrigerator. I live in my parents' house so I don't too much space in the common fridge. I'm looking now to buy an used fridge for storing my hanging meat. I'm looking for a good and slow aging process (around 0.5-1 degrees) well-ventilated fridge where I can put some mason jars for other animal foods too.
These are my possible options, which is best?
Mini fridge, regular fridge, commercial coke cooler or wine cooler.
I don't know if all thsese machines can be force regulated with a temperature controller which is what i'm going to do.
