Could there be anything wrong with eating tongues (from lamb and ox) as my main source of fat? I currently don't have access to a good source of fat or fatty meat, the meat i eat (ground horse) is very lean.

Interesting. Has he been 100% raw vegan during that time?

That's what he has said, he posts alot on one of the raw forum, he's one of the nicer guru imo but he promotes long water fast, is against animal food, thinks you should have 3 bowel movements a day or you'll accumulate toxins which could lead to colon cancer.

I've never heard him say he eats a raw paleo diet but if you put together all his articles, he seems to be eating a raw paleo diet. I still read raw vegan forums and apparently there are more and more raw vegan gurus who promote drinking raw milk and eating raw eggs/fish. This diet might be catching on, or rather making a comeback :)

There also Danny, from carnivorehealth.com who started to immediately lose his hair whenever he switched from pemmican to lex's ground beef + organ pet food mix.

Do these people ever try eating a little bit of carbs or do they switch directly from raw ZC to pemmican?

William, you've said raw meat gives you diarrhea, is that correct?   Have you tried eating a lil bit of carbs with your raw meat? It took care of the diarrhea problem for me.

General Discussion / Re: Are there any Nutarians out there...?
« on: February 12, 2010, 10:33:00 pm »

i would venture to say that a lot of raw vegans that i have known where nutarians/seedafari's

I think a better term for these raw foodists would be "dry foodist", don't forget they also eat alot of dates. Watch any raw food recipe video on youtube, there are dry dates, almonds and cacao in like 90% of them. I would not be surprised if many self-proclaimed raw vegans get more than 50% of their calories from dry food. Even Doug Graham is a dry foodist, he eats nuts. The only true raw vegan i can think of is Durianrider.

I've had freshly picked almonds and they look and taste nothing like dried almonds. The shell is soft and peelable, and the nut inside is wet and kinda mushy, would it be correct to assume that every other type of fresh nuts are like that too? I don't consider dry nuts to be raw at all, even if it hasn't been cooked. When a food has a different look, taste, smell, texture from its natural form, how can it be considered raw?

That does not make sense, William...

It made sense to me, i'm amazed that Phelps can win gold medals by eating pizza, pasta and pancakes. Everyone around me eats like that too and appear to be in good health.

The guy eats cooked meat, why is he at all relevant? I've read some of his writtings, he seems even more stubborn than Sect Leader Charles from ZIOH. I get the same vibe from those 2 guys than i get from people on raw vegan forums, they're not interested in learning, only dogmas.

I've been doing raw ZC for 3 weeks and this week, I had a bit of diarrhea, it was tolerable at 1st but yesterday it was pretty bad. I also had very little energy, no hunger, difficulty sleeping, so i ate some fruit yesterday and feel better already. It sounds like i've run into the same kind of troubles you did, do you know if anyone else on this forum experienced that too? Hopefully adding fruit will allow me to eat raw meat again without having diarrhea. I've had raw meat many times before doing raw ZC and never had this problem.

TD, when you did your raw ZC experiment, did you end up having diarrhea?

I just realized that organs can age 2-3 times faster than muscle meats.

Can anyone experienced with high meat confirm that?

I can't imagine a band of 30 people spending much time gathering fruit and veggies when they can just hunt a bison that would sustain them for a couple days. But they probably picked some fruit they found while traveling, like one cup of berries a week total. That makes them very close to ZC but not totally imo, i'd imagine their calorie intake was something like 99% from meat, 1% or less from fruit. I can't imagine a woman with children risking her life to go gather fruit in the wild all by herself, away from the camp/group.

At 1st i ate salmon and trout for a couple days, then i did like Klowcarb and used about 6 yolks as a sauce for beef.

@Klowcarb
Have you tried lamb recently? I like it better than beef.

We just don't know yet and have to experiment on such a diet over several generations before such a conclusion might be drawn

~7 million years of history seems long enough for me ;)

What carbs could paleo men have eaten in large quantity?  The occasional berries represented what, 0,5% of their calorie intake? And berries were available how many months of the year, 1 maybe 2?  Same thing for nuts.

It seems clear to me that our ancestors' diet was ZC most of the time, and VLC in rare conditions (appropriate season, region, climate, vegetation).

I also tend to eat too much fat and experience similar symptoms...

interesting.. I've been having a lil bit of diarrhea in the last 2-3 days, and coincidentally, the meat i've been eating this week is the fattiest meat i've ever eaten. I was wondering why.

I will go back to leaner meat.

Can you provide any personal experience on RPD that contradicts mine?

No i can't. I just don't think any diet could protect us from serious sungazing. I mean, say you were sungazing in the southern most city of Chille where skin cancer is insanely high because of the huge hole in the ozone layer.

Sun induced skin cancer is of much much less concern than when on SAD.

I think that's wishful thinking.
