I'm not sold on RPD anymore. Tried it now for a year or so.

What I think is mostly missing is cooked starch. I've been struggling so hard to gain any weight on RPD. Just couldn't gain any muscle for the life of me. And I was losing muscle slowly. To me that is a serious sign that somethings wrong.

Now for the past 3 weeks I've added cooked starches into my diet and I've gained 2 pounds per week of muscle. And in fact, the eczema on my neck, which I got AFTER I started RPD is clearing up fast. It's about 80% cleared up after I went back on a heavy carb diet.

Other things which were affecting me on RPD are gone. Such as constipation, low energy, etc.

Just look at Jack Lalanne. The guy is 96, still working out, still publishing books, still has a full head of hair and his natural haircolor.

He eats a mix of raw fruits/veg cooked whole grains and starches + cooked meat. Doesn't touch milk though 8)

General Discussion / ORF virus? Is it something we should worry about?
« on: November 19, 2010, 08:07:39 am »
I just read that ORF virus is especially rampant in Icelandic sheep this year.

Apparently it's a virus infection people get on their skin when they handle sheep a lot. The article said you shouldn't have to worry about eating the meat, but granted I'm sure they don't take into account people who eat their meat raw.

Anyone know anything about this? Supposedly this is very common.

Basically this guy had severe chrons disease and a polyp cyst in his colon which could've ended as cancerous.

Eats nothing but animal product for a year and:

So here I am. One year after embarking on what I thought was a fairly radical experiment, and the sum total of my medically noted results is “Everything looks fine.” Talk about an oddly deflating experience. On the one hand, this confirms that I am in a medicine free remission, that I am generally healthy and free of Crohn’s activity. That is massively good news and a confirmation of the Hypothesis. On the other… well, everything’s fine. Could just be a fluke. Who knows?

Pretty interesting and I'm happy to hear it was so successful for him. Thought I'd share it with you gang!

Primal Diet / Cold processed honey, is it ever heated?
« on: October 14, 2010, 03:00:06 am »
Found some organic honey from De Rit and they say "Cold Processed with all enzymes intact".

But I've read here somewhere that it might be heated anyway, so whats the verdict?

Primal Diet / Anyone have kefir grains?
« on: October 07, 2010, 09:37:00 am »
So I'm looking to start a kefir culture with my milk. Does anyone have any nice spare grains they'd be willing to spare? I wouldn't ask usually, but people in the kefir community seem to be very eager to share their grains, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

They can be sent as just a normal letter in an envelope, it worked fine when I once bought it online, so it shouldn't be too much of an hassle

If anyone is willing then that'd be really appreciated, thanks

Primal Diet / Raw milk
« on: September 29, 2010, 08:25:59 am »
Sadly in Iceland it's illegal to sell raw milk >_>

But thankfully I managed to find a farmer who's has started selling me raw milk. Thing is, I've only spoken to him on the phone so I'm a little paranoid he might be selling me pasteurized milk due to fear of me possibly getting sick or something.

Mainly this is just paranoia in me because I've never met the guy, so I'm wondering, is there any way to test the milk and see whether it's raw or not? I know I could test the shelf life but I want some rock solid evidence if it's possible.

Is there any way to email this guy?

I want to ask him about Soil Based Organisms (Probiotic supplement). For some reason I trust him.

So.. "supposedly" this clears your body of all candida.

Seen here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1EMohMsKbc

I'm sceptical of putting everything human made into my body.. But they do give it a raving review and that chick says she's removed a lot of the symptoms that I have.. I.e. itching, bloating etc..

What'd you think?

p.s. let's not turn this thread into flaming matt monarch or what ever.. It's so obvious what his deal is that it's not worth going off topic.

I just ate an apple and instantly I'm very tired

And it happens almost every time I eat fruit..

So I'm wondering if it's some sort of diabetes or what ever?

Has anyone seen his latest video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQ_Ienq2m7c

I was a little shocked, because you just get the distinct feeling that he's got mental problems when you watch this. And his need to defend and attack is just psychology 101 that he's insecure about his diet.

But really, look at this guy, how can anyone think he's healthy? He looks like very frail.

look at his biceps, they are the same size as his forearms. He looks like pretty starved. If he'd get injured in nature and couldn't provide for him self for a couple of days he'd be dead with in a week. You can just see how his body is just eating away at him on his current diet.

^ This is what RPD looks like

Anywho, don't stoop to his level and start calling him names and such, but just look down and pity him. He'll realize his mistakes sooner or later. I'm just annoyed at how many people he'll drag down with him.

I'm heading down to australia soon, and I was think whether I should try and meet up with him and have a chat. Should be interesting.

General Discussion / High meat
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:48:36 am »
Heya,

I've been aging a high meat now for a few months in an air tight jar.. So far I've been airing it out regularly (4-6 times a week) but I forgot to air it out now for probably 5-6 days.

I'm curious, will this create botulism toxins? Because the meat always smelled very sour and cheesy but now it has a kind of musty, strong, industrialized smell which I find very unattactive.

Is this smell normal or should I throw it out?

« on: March 15, 2010, 08:28:24 am »
Hey guys, the next couple of weeks I'm going to make an experiment.

What I'm going to do is eat lots less food, basically only eat when I'm very hungry and stop eating when not hungry anymore.

Also with every meal I am going to eat a piece of high meat, aged 2 months.

Here are the results I'm hoping to see:

More energy (due to less digesting)
Looking better
Clearer skin
Better breath

Heres what might happen aswell:

Fatigue due to not enough calories
Might look emaciated
Muscle loss

I will write every day what I eat and how it's going.

Cheers,

Hunt

General Discussion / Irritability
« on: March 15, 2010, 02:16:38 am »
Has anyone noticed that when they go very low carb that they get more irritable and aggresive?

I become extremely aggressive when doing vlc and if I'm arguing with someone I always feel a strong urge to become violent even though I have no history of violence what so ever. I actually just punched a whole through my door and usually I laugh at people that smash their things when their angry because I feel it's so stupid.

I'm just curious what you think causes this? I think it's either some carb addiction withdrawal or my brain just being low on sugar and therefor doesn't work properly?

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Om nom nom! Horse Meat.
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:36:13 pm »
I just recieved my shipping of horse meat and back fat.

I haven't tried the meat yet but the fat is DELICOUS! It's almost identical to butter. Just melts perfectly in your mouth.

Also horse meat is dirt cheap here, it's almost 50% cheaper then beef and it's probably healthier aswell.

So yeah, I suggest you try switching it up and going for horse meat for a while instead of beef only.

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / 'Beer gut'.
« on: February 09, 2010, 04:31:42 am »
Hey fellas,

as a beginner in having my fat source as my main calorie source, I think I have been making a few mistakes.

One thing I have been doing, I think, is over eating on fat. This has caused me to, obviously, get fatter. But that's fine seeing as I wanted to gain weight, although not fat, but what ever.

Anywho, one thing I've noticed is that my stomach of late has got some 'bloat' issues. It's not bloating per se, because there is no air in my stomach. But what I'm starting to think is that it's all the fat that I've been over eating has accumilated in my stomach as a sort of 'preserve'.

All the research I've been reading on this says that trans fat is mostly stored in the gut for some reason, so it does make sense.

Also I've been fasting for 2 days and I haven't felt hungry at all, so there must be something that's fueling me.

Anywho, this has become a sort of a ramble, but I'm curious if any of you experienced this?

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Buying an unprocessed part of beef
« on: February 05, 2010, 06:54:57 pm »
Lately I've been buying meat in bulk. I just bought a 1/4 of a bull a week ago straight from the slaughterhouse. And by doing that I'm saving a lot of money rather than continually buying from the grocery store.

Anywho, it gets very pricey if the slaughterhouse debones and packages the meat for you and puts it into vacuum sealed consumer packages. Also they don't give me the back fat and I don't want to be eating suet, I'm starting to think it's too hard to digest. Lately I've been feeling like there's something stuck in my bowels and it might be the suet.

What I'd wanna do is just have the part sent to me and cut it and package it my self but I have no knowledge on how to do this. I mean, I have done it to geese and duck which I've hunted but not anything bigger than that. Processing a duck or a goose is actually quite simple.

Anywho, here's my question is there anything that could go wrong if I would just process it in my garage? I would just hang it up and cut it and then put it in containers.

I wouldn't care what the meat looks like. For all I care I could put it all into a grinder.

So what do you think? Possible or impossible?

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / I don't get how fish works.
« on: January 06, 2010, 03:55:48 am »
On paper I don't understand how Vilhjalmur stefansson could survive on a couple of meals of fish a day. I mean, he was mostly eating white fish i.e. sea fish that is not very fatty like salmon or trout.

I also read somewhere here that if you eat too much lean protein it can cause you to get a buildup of uric acid and get gout...

So is fish somehow different than red meat because of how fast the protein is metabolized? Because I don't understand how it can give energy because it's not that high in fat.

(also I know that his energy was fine when eating nothing but fish. He wasn't eating any seal blubber or what ever)

23
Basically my question is. Does it work long term or will you eventually get sick and possibly have heart problems?

Because I've tried raw vegan for a few years and it does not work.
