Fascinating GS, although the co-authoress clearly has an anti-male bias, devolving in some cases to a conspiracy theoress.

I was a bit surprised that the women have an advantage due to the men's testicles being prone to cold damage. My recollection is of women staying out of the water when it gets cold.

It still is not proof that someone can stay under for 10:40 . These women were capable of 3 minutes max and they were doing it regularly.

I remember reading a book by Andre van Lysbeth called "Pranayama" "The Yoga Of Breathing" in which he mentioned that interesting things happen to the body's cells when a person holds their breath. The cells go into a state of shock and start to use the oxygen more efficiently. This makes them healthier. There was a lot more to the discussion but I cannot find it. Mention was made in there to the women of Japan who dove for pearls.

In the link video it mentions something about damage occurring if the diving lasted longer.
