General Discussion / Re: Curing OCD?
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:29:27 am »
I think OCD can be a valuable thing, if geared toward a useful purpose.

All you need to do is figure out a positive way to use it with the same strategy. I'm sure a good NLP practitioner can help you with that.

Anyway, grains are bad! We should make a banner for that :)

Do you juice red beet root?

I heard that beet juice can increase HCL production but I'm not sure what kind of beets are good for that.

Let me know about the variety if you know. Thanks.

Calming foods?

Raw eggs, raw butter works for me. Sometimes I feel like they work too well...

Off Topic / Is the world getting high?
« on: May 18, 2010, 05:17:10 pm »
I was thinking about how the high meats form a lot of micro organisms that transform the matter.

Maybe this is also happening with  our world in some aspects with all the population increasing.

Well the earth is not actually in a jar and gets aired every 3-4 days, but I still think there is some resemblance to the high meats.

According to Aajonus, all you need to do is eat a coup of pigs intestines and you don't have to pay anything.

Here is a simple way to make butter from goat milk if you don't have a separator:

General Discussion / Re: Anybody up for a no-sleep challenge?
« on: April 27, 2010, 03:24:13 pm »
No problem, except for the milk.  Milk makes me sleepy.  I don't need sleep otherwise.  Eggs energize anyway.  Are you sure he drank milk during this?  Did he drink the milk before the 10 minute?

Yes, he said milk, but my guess is he drank fermented milk. I get sleepy too if the milk is not fermented into kefir.

The idea is to not eat carbs during this time.

About the 10 minute thing, it's probably possible if you can fall asleep fast. If you can't, maybe a longer period (like 3 half hour sessions) would be best.

General Discussion / Anybody up for a no-sleep challenge?
« on: April 27, 2010, 01:14:36 am »

If you have 2-3 days of leisure or minimal activity, I propose this challenge:

Try to sleep maximum 1-2 hours a day and eat every hour an egg or half a coup of milk or half a coup of meat.

AV says that one time he went on 1.5 hours sleep a day, 10 minutes at a time, for 22 days. During this time he ate every hour an egg or half a coup of milk or half a coup of meat. After that he went on to sleep the normal 5 hours a day and didn't felt tired at all.

You can try it for longer if you have the time, but 2-3 days should be pretty easy to do.

So, who wants to try and see if it's possible to sleep this little and not feel tired at all?

235
^ Maybe try this?

"Mineral salts are utilized by plants for food. We can access them in their bio-available form and in correct concentrations in vegetable juices".

236

So, if one only consumes grainfed meat+fat, than eating lots of fruits is bad? what if it's mixed?

Where did you get the "3%" PUFA limit?

237

How do you get "high tissue cell membrane PUFA concentrations"?

238

I agree, you have to keep eating some fruit because the body will discontinue the production of enzymes that are not needed. The same happens to the salivary enzymes, most of them are spared on a raw diet.

239

Do you get the same reaction even if you eat it with fat?

Than it may be one of the other possible issues listed there, like mineral deficiency or low blood protein&sugar levels.

In AV's book it says something about lactose intolerance and recommends avoiding milk if milk+honey does not work.

The recommendation is to drink raw ginger root and honey mixed with mineral water and that it takes at least three months.

3. Storing meat and fish- So how does it work? Let's say I've found a good butcher for getting grass fed beef. How long can I leave it in the fridge if I wanted to eat it raw?
...

You can store meat in glass jars or in a glass pot (like I do). Do not worry about plastic too much, unless you are using it for everything.

As for the period, depends on your taste. In your case you may try to keep it for a day or two max.

I don't understand why you feel the need to buy bottled ALA since cold pressed walnut oil contains plenty of it. The same for cilantro, isn't it better to get the actual stuff?

By the way, do you know if tooth pivots contain mercury?

I want to make one clarification about celery here. What I tried was the leafs juice from Celeriac. It's the only one available here.

I think that most people on the PD juice Celery Stalks, which is probably not as awful as I described earlier.

alphagruis,

How do you know if they actually work? Do you measure some specific things?

Have you tried zeolites?

By the way, there is a mercury detox recommendation on the AV recipes book (p56) which also involves cilantro juice.

Kefir is also an alternative for those not too sensitive.
