Health / MY LEG!!!
« on: December 19, 2010, 12:27:01 pm »
Last night I woke up with my calf muscle throbbing. Could not stop it from tensing up.
It was also pulsating at the bottom and the pain felt the worst underneath the muscle at the bottom.
All I could do was stretch it out and about 5 to 10 minutes later it stopped and I was left with a pulsating calf.
One of my first thoughts was "there is something in side of me" but it could have been a intense muscle spasm, but I have never one this intense. It is sore but it just feels like I pulled a muscle. It is still pulsating, but I have no trouble using my leg and would like to keep it that way.

It hurt like a bitch and I was pretty freaked out so I would appreciate some input anything at all that might shed some light on this. Thanks

General Discussion / Eating fish skins?
« on: December 14, 2010, 03:19:27 am »
I tried some smoked fish skins over the weekend and loved them!
They were the bellies so they are much softer than the top.
I was wondering if anyone has enjoyed eating them raw?

General Discussion / Canned food sucks... how will you hoard food?
« on: November 28, 2010, 02:24:20 am »
If the economy collapses or disaster strikes, I've made up my mind that I will go into the woods. Still I would like to go in a position of thriving. This includes not only learning techniques but having enough food as to not be starving and to have a clear mind when I decide to take my first animal. Canned food is pretty much out of the question, I think there are many other better options if we spend a little bit to prepare beforehand.

Do you store food in case of emergency?

What do you? How do you? maybe even the specifics on why you do?

I'll start off by saying that I have already collected some honey, nuts, dried "superfruits" like incan berries.
I'll probably make some jerky also, but I am not sure how long it will last.

Hot Topics / Sprouts anyone?
« on: November 27, 2010, 11:30:09 am »
I know grains are a no-no in general in the eyes of many on this forum. but...
I like to eat sprouted wild rice once every couple of months. I soak them in spring water for about 24 hours, draining and replenishing the water every 5 to 8 hours. Then stick them in the microwave oven at about 125-150 degrees for two or three hours. I usually eat them with wasabi, mustard, and coconut aminos sauce. Totally delicious, not as good as meat but awesome "change-up". I eat it at night as it is a little bit sedating, but not nearly as much as "regular" grains. No hangover either!

Does anyone else sprout? If so...

What plant? How much? How often?

Any other thoughts on this sprouts? Or my current method?

General Discussion / Why do humans cook meat?
« on: November 19, 2010, 11:24:16 pm »
Last night I was talking to an old friend of mine who asked a few good questions. I did not know the answer so I told him I would think about it and do some research. I like eating raw but the question is one that I find intriguing.

why do you think we started?
If it is all bad then why would so many continue to cook their food up until now?
