Yes, I know, they have   been predicting since the 1980s that travel to Mars/the technological singularity/solar power/fusion power/ etc. etc.were "only"  c.30 years away       , but these  "predictions"  inevitably never happen. I am inevitably more and more inclined to believe in Huebner's saner theory, that we are entering a new Dark Age; and possibly a series of Great Filter events that will annihilate us, just like all previous sentient species.


I am referring to the NASA idiot who claimed that water on Mars meant immediate colonisation within decades.
