Maybe this guy has a point regarding the acidity of this type of diet...I read juri/yuri/wildlion guy who i think after 4 months of raw paleo he had uric acid stones....maybe theres a connection between this diet and his development of his stones. I really wonder why supposedly the guys teeth would be falling out after this diet.

First off, this sort of fanatically-anti-raw topic should only be placed in the Hot Topics forum for us all to ridicule(i'll move it there, now). Placing it anywhere else rather counts as trolling.Secondly, the guy wasn't attacking "Rawpaleoguy", that is unless you meant "raw paleo guy" in a very vague general sense, refering to the raw animal food community(despite many  being raw but not palaeo at all).

Lastly, This fanatic Durianrider did make 1 good point and that was that (some)Primal Dieters can get decaying teeth. However, this has nothing to do with greater acidity, it has to do with the huge consumption of raw dairy products in the primal diet and , as we all know, dairy is linked to weak bones re cases of osteoporosis etc. I'm a case in point, my teeth deteriorated rather badly while on the raw vegan/fruitarian diets that Durianrider foolishly recommends, and deteriorated even further when I added very large amounts of raw dairy to my diet. As soon as I cut out all the raw dairy and went in for large amounts of raw meats, my issues disappeared and my teeth became incredibly strong and healthy.

As for the claims re kidney-stones, that seems to be more of an issue with ZC given that only 2 reports thereof come from raw ZC-dieters. Other equally good explanations have been offered such as that the 2 members needed to drink more water than they did(raw meat not having as much water-content as raw plant-foods, allied with the fact that carnivores in the wild usually drink vast amounts of water).

"During the last campaign I knew what was happening. You know, they mocked me for my foreign policy and they laughed at my monetary policy. No more. No more.

This guy is a fucking idiot. Mix a little truth in with a load of shit like this and I start wondering what he's selling.

So...what is he selling?

The biggest problem is that if he or anyone else wants to advocate veganism (I assume he's raw vegan), then do it. But allow it to stand or fall on it's own merits, don't try to prop it up by attacking something else. I find it just as distasteful when I hear raw vs cooked or omni vs vegan or paleo vs whatever. Attempting to dis-credit one diet says NOTHING about the viability of another.

On it's own, it stands or falls.

On it's own, all diets stand or fall.

That guy is a Durian Rider is a anti-animal meat & product advocate. I'm not to familiar with his work but I have bumped into some of his video's & writings on other forums. Seems like he's all about an 80-10-10 diet.

He ridicules everyone that doesn't share the same idea as him. Even those that share a relatively close idea to his. Raw vegan,Cooked vegan, vegetarian & those that attempted his diet but failed.

I personally see him as a huge joke & someone with denial of anger, jealous issues & with a superiority complex. His followers as well, all have anger issues.

He makes silly claims all the time. Like food is free & everyone(must be nice if you live in those type of areas), Points out rotten road kill(he doesn't realize there are people that will eat that. I doubt he would even attempt to eat a rotten fruit), Claims to travel the world on his bike & live off of only 10k US a year. I'm highly skeptic of that, he must have sponsors & freebies handed to him.

i LOVE Durianrider's videos, i'm a fan, he's so funny and extreme. Ever seen how much fruit in a day he eats? it's insane! like 10kg a day. His wife, also a raw vegan, is equally extreme, she's cute and look healthy tho unlike Durian who looks emancipated in my opinion. I don't know why they call themselves raw vegans, they're fruitarians, they only eat fruit and very small quantity of greens. I did the 80/10/10 diet for 5 months, worst diet i've ever been on but that's what got me here on this forum so it's all good.

You can get email/webcam consultations with him or his wife for 200$/month. I think they moved to Thailand specifically to have access to fresh, cheap fruit. That's hardcore dedication to fruit.

I find it interesting that in one of his clips, he mentions craving his favorite fruit the durian which happens to be one of the fattiest fruit.

We probably should not engage in this food-throwing and keep our attention on supporting good nutrition and healthy eating habits for all.

I hope everyone can find satisfaction and be well.

Here is what this guy eats (From the banana forum http://www.30bananasaday.com/profiles/blogs/an-interview-with-durianrider)

sugar for breakfast, lunch and dinner and anytime i care for. sugar of course being from ripe sweet fruit that tastes amazing. organic/homegrown being of preference. lately ive been averaging around 4000cals. bananas and mangoes have been the staples. so say a 7kg watermelon for breakfast, 20 large spotty ripe banana for lunch and maybe 7-10 large mangoes for dinner blended with a whole large celery and a kg of tomatoes. its a lot of food and its the main reason im so slim and find it easy to be 100% raw vegan and incredible stamina, due to my gycogen tank always being full stocked and ready to live!

Can you imagine his blood sugar level??  Insulin production must be going off through the roof.
I'm curious how long he'll last eating like this.

I welcome critics.

They point out the flaws and the pitfalls and those people who seem to have failed on the "other" diets.

Kidney failures are something to look into how the various RPD practitioners practice their diets.

I think some people are too rigid with their diets and do not adjust as their body dictates. That is why there is instincto or intermittent fasting or sometimes fruit day or sometimes meat day and of course variety.

Of course my family experience is different, I became too thin fruitarian and my children had tooth decay on large quantities of fruit.

There is a book called Cure Tooth Decay by Rami Nagel and what works for him is primal diet.  But in my experience, my gut just doesn't agree with dairy.

she's cute and look healthy

her picture here

many women on the 811 have stopped menstruating

I don't want to fan the flames, but I think we should be realistic.

Extreme diets do not tend to yield good results - as goodsamaritan points out, they are too rigid - it becomes the tyranny of the mind subjugating the body that I ranted about in another post.

I appreciate the humanity on this forum and hope we can remain kind and moderate in the best interest of all.

The proof of the pudding is in the reproducing.
If the diet does not allow successive generations to reproduce then it is not a mainstay diet.

Reproduction is a big issue for me as for myself the purpose of life is to make more life.

Well that explains it.  He has every right to be extinct.  There are some of us who's responsibility it is to populate the world.  We will keep on going trying to find the best diet there is to raising children to making children and growing old gracefully and curing incurable diseases.

So far, raw paleo diet and its variants are in my book, even temporary vegan and temporary fruitarian, even cooked meat and cooked veggies sometimes have uses as remedies.

He says, that children up till age ten have higher dietary fat needs than the 80/10/10 or 95/5/5 for adults, hence should be encouraged to extensively breastfeed as long as possible.  He has a brother about a year older than him and one around a year younger.  He would have come from a smaller family had his parents practiced that, as breastmilk letdown hormone suppresses ovulation hormone.  Says the whole thing is population control.  Some people on the GI2MR where everyone says he posts incognito as vladimir from adelaide agree the world should be depopulated. http://tinyurl.com/ykjpzm3 This one beat his wife then fled country not to support children & got both AIDS & colon cancer, is also a member of Harley's 30BaD.  Oh, they were both banned from GI2MR, but welcomed back only as long as they pretend they have other names.

Every other animal, if it needs to eat meat to live long enough to insure they will future generations; it hunts or finds carrion or whatever it needs.  Hence the people who only put down those who eat carrion leftover from other carnivores, roadkill, or their own hunted animals in order to live; they have feelings against nature herself, for humans ARE animals.  We are not separate.  When we separate ourselves we weaken ourselves.  It's masochism, we might not support it if it was up front.  I was taught by Ayurvedic Indian philosophy and by my parents that everyone has a right to their feelings, so be it.  They can want humanity to go to extinction.  Each person has a right to want what they want, right?

I don't want to know about his personal life. I get annoyed when he post stupid videos or when his wife flames everyone who's not on high fruit diets(on other message boards). I wish their members post some blood results. I'd like to see that.

humans ARE animals

We aren't animals, we have a neurology that can alter biology. We are gods.

I wouldn't tell anyone what to do. These are personal matters, but very serious matters.

Oh, we're still talking about this guy? This guy who talks because he has something to sell?

Look, if the diet works for him, great. I'm sure it works for many folks, just like raw vegan works for many folks and fruitarianism plus extreme fasting works for Richard Blackman, just like zero carb works for many folks here, just like AV's primal diet works for him.

None of that works for me. I've experimented (& continue to) and know when I'm eating optimally for my body. BUT you don't hear me running around trashing raw vegans or zero-carb meat eaters or whatever. This guy isn't an ass because he's raw fruitarian or whatever he wants to call it, he's an ass because he doesn;t speak from the strength of the diet & the good it does him but instead wants to support his choices by insulting other systems and other people....and does so to earn a living.

Fuck him.

Definitely we have godlike qualities.  We can affect our environments a lot more than other animals can theirs.  With that, of course why not enjoy our status.  As gods though, what are we doing on Earth in each our own personal body?

MSNBC health Australia 2007 after eight years raw? vegan, and two years into his 811 stint:

Quote
Harley Johnstone is an extreme vegan. The 29-year-old endurance cyclist went cold turkey on poultry and meat six years ago and is now a total fruit and nut fan. "I wanted more so I went raw and I haven't looked back since."

...

Harley (aka durianrider)
Remember, Harley completely cuts out anything to do with animal products and relies purely on raw fruit, veggies and nuts.

His results have got Susie really worried: "My biggest concern is that your vitamin B12 is one of the lowest clinical levels we have ever seen!"

Harley's B12 was just 78 (in his blood drawn in 2007). That's drastically lower than the normal intake range from 145 to 637 and means our vegan could be susceptible to anaemia, blurry vision and loss of feeling in the hands and feet in the long term.

"In the case of vegans, it's really up to them if they decide to supplement with B12. It is primarily from animal-based food so it's probably worth him discussing it with his GP or medical specialist," says Susie.

Does Susie still have her job.  Maybe B12 isn't necessary.  We might should feel sorry for him.  A person can be delusional without enough vitamins for their brain.

The following pic has been his default profile pic for three years on his MySpace, that states he's thirty-four years old:

    Sorry, SkinnyDevil, you're right.

That is not the idea of god that I meant. An exterior god "out there in the clouds" is a mechanism for abdicating responsibility.

People want to be creators without respecting natural constraints.

We both populate freely and use our creative powers to prevent death.

That's a "split" point of view. The id (animal part) is good when we satisfy the sex and reproduction urge, but bad when it results in death and scarcity. The superego (externalized god) is easily ignored when we want to indulge the id and good when we "enjoy our status" by prolonging life and providing ease.

The split point of view is causing unnatural pain and suffering for persons and people.

Sorry, SkinnyDevil, you're right.

No, I'm just grumpy with this guy. I've bumped into him in the past. Told him once he should listen to Ani....:

"...I'm not trying to give my life meaning by demeaning yours...."

But you are correct. B12 deficiency leads to all manner of problems, and his hostility towards everyone who disagrees with him (or even agrees but fails to embrace his habits as faithfully as he) may be, in part at least, a result of this.

He seems obsessed with Aajonus, he mentions him in several videos. My guess is, he knows several raw vegans who switched to raw paleo and that pisses him off.
