Aging linked to telomere shortening
« on: February 25, 2010, 05:43:44 am »

I just read this article from Mercola and it seems they found yet one more reason why people age:

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/02/23/science-finally-reveals-how-you-can-actually-revese-aging.aspx

What's interesting about this is the following:

"Although much of the research in this field is on proprietary chemicals to stop telomere shortening, I have discovered there are studies in progress showing that increasing glutathione levels will actually provide similar results." (turn on the telomerase gene)

"Interestingly, one of the most potent dietary strategies to increase your glutathione levels is whey protein.
...
Other food sources include animal foods and eggs." => we're on the good track

I would like to see those studies about glutathione though.

The only way to tell is if someone measures their telomere length before and after a whey trial. Anyone willing to do that? :)
