I haven't had it for a while but I would eat some cacao probably more in a ceremony. Like you sit around, open up a few coconuts with friends, blend the contents with some honey and cacao, put some "herbs" in it, then put it all back into the coconut shells and consume.

In other words I consider it a very mild recreational drug more than a food.

Let's just call it herb.

On a side not though I'm not really into pot, but I didn't experiment with mixing it with cacao before in a kind of raw chocolate bar.

I used to make hot cocoa with it, adding sugar and coconut oil.

It is supposed to be an excellent source of magnesium, needed by most.
