Chlorine In Water
« on: September 20, 2010, 10:13:43 am »
I went swimming in a hotel with my nephews the other day.

I feel being in water too much is bad in the first place for human health. Add loads of chlorine, even worse.
Felt somewhat sick, for an hour or 2 after.

Aqautic ape theory is way off. I would look like a raisin.

How do some of you feel in ocean water?

I feel good in lakes and rivers. But never been in the ocean, been in the dead sea but that's totally different (which was bad by the way).

It's the chlorine. I don't do well in chlorinated water either. I used to get burns from swimming in it, but seems like my sensitivity to it decreased. You'd be fine in ocean water.

well, USA is all about capitalism. poor swims in the deadly chlorine water, while those million $ homes offer the well water pool. in third world poor swims in a clean water, while rich swims in toxic chlorine water pool. O0

but regular city water is not even better than those chlorine pool water. you will find yourself far more healthy not having shower on this. put something like wheat grass in your water to shower or bath.

unpolluted river and lakes are very good for swimming. i swim in atlantic ocean a lot (Jones beach in long island new york). i love it. i found my skin looks good and my nails shine after that.

I can't train in chlorine pools (feel like crap after, hangover) so have to tuff it out in the cold ocean. I feel invigorated but have to wear a wetsuit and dodge sharks.

I've spent upto a week just living on the beach cleaning in the ocean, after a while it gets to much and you get allergic to it. You need to clean in fresh water every so often. i like how my hair goes after being in the ocean though. I actually live like right on the beach and swim up to three times a day in summer.

My kids are totally positive for swimming pool chlorine allergy / poisoning.

I'm fine in normal water, but chlorinated water makes my eyes go extremely bloodshot and I feel more tired as a result. That's why I don't go to gyms any more and prefer open=-air ponds that are not chlorinated.

I grew up swimming in the ocean and find fresh water gross. Chlorinated FW is way worse.

Might be all in my head but clean salt water is very invigorating to me. Good for healing wounds also.
Cheers

i refuse to put my toddler in chlorine water pool to teach him how to swim. i rather planning to go to amazonian river with him where spend some months with a tribal group to teach him how to climb on a coconut tree and swim in a river and how to catch fish..... :)
