I was thinking of ordering whole wild fresh salmon so I can eat the organs...is this a good idea?

The wild-caught salmon (from Alaska) sold in supermarkets here, the organs and head have been removed. I can't stand the taste of Mackerel organs, they taste so bitter, i doubt other fish organs are much better?

I'm not sure.. Eskimoes always feed the organs to dogs.

The head is the most celebrated part.. Organs least.

You'll probably increase risk of parasite infection a lot if you eat the organs.

I've enjoyed eating raw fish organs right out of whole fish.  The green organ tastes way too bitter to eat though.

Parasite infection? That's quite worrisome could you explain how or why the parasites would be in the organs? Also would freezing kill them?

I would imagine freezing them would cause more infections later on down the line.  I never got an infection from eating never been frozen organs anyway.  I was so scared of parasites, till I ate my first raw meat.  I guess I was lucky though, cause I dived into raw 100%, hadn't eaten anything but raw dairy for a month before I tried the flesh.  Come to think of it, it was about six months in before I tried liver, and the livers were totally carelessly rotted and from poultry.  Oh, wait, I ate fresh fish organs about three months in, but I had already eaten fish skin for a month.

The green organ tastes way too bitter to eat though.

That's the gallbladder, full of bile (which is green). Tastes awful. Definitely not good to eat.

I eat the eyes and brain, yum :p.  The only part I dislike picking apart on the fish head is the teeth.

I bet the Chinese have a medicinal use for it.

I consider fish organs untasty. The organ-meats from the land mammels are much more toothsome.
Do you blame vultures for the carcass they eat?

I love whole total wild caught shrimp from wholefood, but they are prefrozen. I m not lucky one to try the fresh fish. To keep up a good health, I can do anything!
