Had anyone noticed an increase in cognitive capacity on a raw diet? I've read tons of info linking fluoride, food additives, and other things we generally don't consume lowering IQ and hindering brain function.

I notice I retain info really well, I read faster and remember what I read much better. I'm also excelling academically, straight A's.

EQ is a contradiction in terms. It should really be called "ES"/Emotional Stupidity. I mean there are plenty of people with very high "emotional awareness" who were inevitably also  as thick as pigshit, such as Princess Diana.

From what I've learned on class EQ is a measure of hew well you handle stress, adapt to new situations, optimism, etc. it's been shown to be more effective at determining how well you'll do in life than IQ.

Tht's b*llsh*t. EQ is only related to "emotional intelligence" which is only to do with how well you interact with others, nothing to do with general stress etc.

That's not what I've been learning in class, and I have an A in the course.

What I'm learning in class is based more on the mixed model. The other types describe your definition.

I find my brain works best on low-carb, which is why I try to avoid eating much in the way of carbs until dinner.

I don't see any possible connection between handling stress or adapting  to new situations and emotional awareness  unless it's only social stress or new social situations that's considered.  Any non-social situation would have nothing to do re the above.

Incidentally, getting an "A" is meaningless if it involves studying a dud subject that has even less credibility than sociology, judging from wikipedia and other sources.

If "emotional awareness" were really directly linked to success in life, it also fails to explain that many people at the top have become successful  precisely due to being very unemotional sociopaths with little feeling or understanding of their fellows.

Ok tyler. If you care to make a separate thread on your opinion of EQ, where you can bash it all you like, please do. This thread is specifically for if anyone has noticed greater intelligence, coping in difficult situations, handling stress, etc due to consuming raw animal foods.

Yes, I have noticed marked increase in my overall intelligence and perception due to detox, diet, fasting, pollution avoidance, exercise, etc... healthy living.  So all the years I was semi-conscious seemed like a waste.  Hopefully I give my kids a better start in life.

Whoah, hang on.  The intelligent sociopaths that often become CEOs, politicians, etc. do not lack understanding of other people. Quite the opposite--they are very good actors, and pretend to have the appropriate emotions very well.

The real reason that sociopaths rise to high positions (when they do, which isn't always...often they end up in prison, especially the less-intelligent) is that it's easier to do what it takes to succeed in most hierarchies if you aren't troubled by hurting other people.  Most humans are bothered by lying, cheating, and manipulating to get ahead, especially  if it directly and obviously hurts other people..

Not true. The kind of sociopaths I am referring to are those who may have  great charm but who are completely unaware of any moral rules(or at least only pretend to have them).  They tend to have no regard or real awareness of  other peoples' feelings. These people are by no means intelligent(merely being averagely intelligent, at best), but they simply bulldoze their way until people call their bluff. Jeffrey Skilling is such an example.

The reason I think "emotional intelligence" was thought up was because some loony egalitarian didn't like the notion of a minority of people being  cleverer than others so came up with the notions of "emotional intelligence" and "physical intelligence"(lol) so as to give those "less endowed with brains" a reason to feel better about themselves.

Lol, although that may be true, there is an advantage of having people have different skills and talents. It's probably inborn to have varying levels of intelligence, it's simple diversity. Plus, it's all relative....even a stupid person on the planet is relatively more intelligent than an ape

Not sure about that! More educated yes, but more intelligent I seriously doubt.
Cause and effect are distant in time and space in complex systems, while at the same time there’s a tendency to look for causes near the events sought to be explained. Time delays in feedback in systems result in the condition where the long-run response of a system to an action is often different from its short-run response. — Ronald J. Ziegler

Agreed. Animals are geniuses. They know exactly what to eat to promote their health (for the most part). They live on the planet in a sustainable way.

The fact is survival isn't dependent on being able to make space crafts, birth control, and processed foods.

There's a lot we as humans can learn from animals.

I also believe animals are smarter than humans.

Also, I'm pretty sure EQ stands for Emotional Quotient, not Emotional Intelligence, seeing how IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient, and there is no I in EQ.

Regarding the topic, I actually feel that as I have gotten older, my ability to learn and to retain information has lessened rather than heightened even after eating much healthier.  However I am too poor to eat very good right now, but even though I eat a lot of rice and (lightly) cooked meat, at least I no longer eat any processed, junk, or fast food anymore (which used to be pretty much ALL I ate but I was tested to have an IQ of 131 in school by official test), and I don't eat any other grains than rice.  But I feel like my IQ is no longer as high as it used to be when I ate all that junk food and fast food.  Like seriously, pretty much the only things I ate were pizza, taco bell tacos with meat and cheese only, frozen dinners usually mac and cheese, frozen pizza, ramen, other fast food (meat and cheese only), hamburger helper, bean and cheese burrito, french bread pizza, and processed meats like slim jims, little cheddar smokies, and fried breaded chicken strips. I also NEVER drank water, it was either fake fruit juices or soda or regular commercial whole milk.  Though I was lucky and we'd go out to dinner a lot, and I would ALWAYS get a steak, cooked as rare as my parents would let me get.  With a side of french fries and a Shirley Temple to drink.
Hi, I'm 32, around 5'4" and ~124lb, no real significant health problems other than hyperventilating when running/exercising (that my doc said was because of the smog/asthma), fatigue, and really bad acne.
I'd preferably be a carnivore/very low carb, but I have had a very hard time finding grass-fed or even organic fats, organs, and marrow. I consume raw dairy, but I do not eat much vegetables.. however, I do love fruit.
I live with my dad, so I also have to sneak any raw meat eating.

I honestly don't know. I know TONS of people who are incredibly smart/intelligent, who pick up things really fast... and they also eat the typical american diet. Nothing but trash food
