Have you investigated using a rife machine?

I used to have one. I never noticed any benefit or reaction from it unfortunately. Do you use them?

Ive been bitten by so many deer ticks now that ive lost count. Borrelia is like any other microbe. Give it a playground and it will run wild, have a clean system and it will benign.

That's my hope, considering that my MD doesn't want to give me antibiotics anyways. If I do want them I'll have to seek out an out-of-practice Lyme doctor which will surely cost a pretty penny. I wish I had some high meat.

I have had chronic lyme for about three years and just when I thought I might get over it with diet I get bit by another tick. I just started having new neck pains, back pains, and a return of my panic attacks.

I'm hoping I'll be able to go on antibiotics as that seems to be the only effective treatment in the early stages, but does everyone think its okay to eat raw while on antibiotics? I'm concerned that maybe the lack of gut flora will lead me to be more open to infections or something.

I'm definitely thinking about getting raw adrenal and thyroid. That's a good idea. I also think I feel better eating avocado, which I tried for the first time tonight. I also love fermented veggies so that won't be problem. Any other ideas, anyone?

I had my pancreatic enzymes tested recently and they were found to be very low. Do you think I would benefit from eating pancreas?

Has anyone else here had success with raw adrenals and raw thyroid?

My naturopath wants me to get a pancreatin supplement so I was thinking of ordering Dr. Ron's Pancreas supplement and maybe also the adrenal and thyroid.

In addition, there is concern about antibiotic-resistant strains of e. coli. These are said to exist in grain-fed beef.

That was my concern. There seems to be some nasty stuff in grainfed.

I read it. It essentially lists different ferments from different cultures. I didn't have much time with it, but I didn't remember it enlightening much in terms of procedure. It was essentially a catalogue. I did however enjoy reading "The Indigenous Foods of the Sudan" which gave detailed descriptions of the huge variety of fermented foods in that culture, including FERMENTED MEATS!!

General Discussion / Adrenals, Carbs, and Candida

Hello all,

So I've been feeling quite a bit better eating raw paleo, but often I feel much worse in the evening as compared to the rest of the day. I once had my adrenal hormones tested and they found that they declined heavily in the evening so I'm wondering how I can support my adrenals. I remember TylerDurden said he believed his adrenals were burdened on low carb, so it got me thinking that maybe I need to add more carbs.

I eat Very Low Carb right now eating mostly meat and fat and some fermented vegetables. I have gut pain and potential Candida so I was hoping to introduce some carbs that are low-fiber and low-sugar. Any ideas?

I used to eat a lot of raw tongue. I should probably start doing that again. I request that a relatively local grassfed meat farm acquire some muscle fat for me, so I hope they can. I wish Slankers or Northstar Bison had a more regular sale of said fats.

Do you eat suet as a backup TD?

If forever reason (emergency / financial problems / zombie apocalypse) and you only had access to grain-fed supermarket meats would you cook them or eat them raw?

I'm not planning on this, but just curious if people here think the risks of cooking outweigh the risks of bacterial infection.

Zym - You say you have chronic infections. Are they systemic? Do you go on antibiotics for them?

I was on antibiotics for over a year, which surely helped curb the symptoms, but it probably caused plenty of yeast problems. I also was never breastfed as a child and was on antibiotics frequently for ear infections so I think that also weakened my immune system. Luckily though, just from eating paleo for just a few days I am already seeing improvement. I just need to secure a good source of muscle fat.

It's sometimes hard for me to notice warning signs considering I have a lot of shifting symptoms due to chronic infections so do you have a suggestion as to how many pounds of liver you should eat at most per week?

Can you overdose on Vitamin A without eating adequate Vitamin D (like eating a pound of raw liver a day)? Are egg yolks, pork, oily fish, and sunlight the only paleo sources of Vitamin D?

Plus I just looked up his birthday and realized he's sixty-five haha. But I'm just used to him looking even better than he does in that video, I guess.

I've drank plenty of fermented vegetable juices, but am unsure of how appropriate they are in an RPD or in my health regiment. Has anyone here had success with using green juices for detoxing?

Which is a better source of fat while I wait for my meat orders? Raw egg yolks or U.S. Wellness beef tallow for fat?

Has anyone played around with coconut water kefir?

http://ediblegoddess.com/2011/04/coconut-water-kefir/

It's supposed to be great for candida, although the only time I made it I found it disgusting.

I'm looking for raw fat that I can easily digest. I have had problems with suet in the past, although I wonder if it's worth giving another shot.

1.) What raw fats do you recommend? (If you recommend suet, please let me know as well.)

2.) Where can you order them online?

In some cases juicing is not to be done on the primal diet.

When is that?

I'm suddenly interested in Multiple Sclerosis and made a few blog posts about MS and raw paleo diet.

http://www.myhealthblog.org/2010/03/04/cures-for-multiple-sclerosis-raw-paleo-diet-works-really-well/

http://www.myhealthblog.org/2010/03/04/cures-for-multiple-sclerosis-paleo-diet-video-presentation-by-dr-loren-cordain-part-17/

This is just the diet part.

MS also has mercury pollution as a cause.  So MS is diet plus pollution removal.

Let's cure the world of multiple sclerosis.

Please contribute to this thread.

Personal testimonials would be great.

This is a cooked paleo diet in the video, though, correct?

Primal Diet / Re: Where can I get raw cream or butter shipped to me?
« on: April 11, 2012, 02:14:21 am »
I know in PA you have to go directly to the farm and ask them for raw butter "pet food" or raw cream "pet food." Even if they sell raw milk, they can't legally sell raw butter or raw cream (due to animal fat restriction laws I believe) and they won't tell you over the phone if they have it because you may be a FDA mole. Go in person, be very polite, and ask. If they deny, tell them your health status and see if they actually do have some. Your best bet will actually be to contact your local Weston A. Price chapter leader and ask where they get their butter and cream, and often they have a connect they can put you in touch with. http://www.westonaprice.org/local-chapters/find-a-local-chapter
