Your jaw can get bigger and make room for more teeth.

This is completely true. Some bones have the ability to keep growing. Things like your arms and legs have hard ends that won't grow anymore, but several others will- Lots of bones in the hands and feet, as well as head and face, will keep growing.

My jaw has definitely gotten larger and stronger since I've gone raw paleo- I assume tearing all the meat up is the likely cause. I now regret getting my wisdom teeth taken out as there is room for them in the back of my mouth (there wasn't when I got them removed), and I think it would be pretty cool to have them.

Oh, good idea! How often do they breed? Could you have new gpigs every few weeks?

Guinea pig litters vary from 2-8 babies. They're usually pregnant for about two months, and can become pregnant again 6-48 hours after giving birth, although it's unhealthy to breed them that often.

If I was breeding them for food I'd try to get Peruvians. I have a pair of  Peruvian boars and they get mistaken for rabbits all the time. Fuckers are huge.

They'll eat almost any fruit or veggie, scraps included. Mine will go nuts over strawberry tops, orange peel, banana peel, avocado skin, apple cores... etc.

I highly endorse pole dance as a form of exercise... Of course, I kinda do it for a living so I'm a big fan of it.

Few shots from work.

My eyes have gone from dark brown to almost an orange brown with some green in them. I've been following a raw paleo lifestyle for almost a year now, but have eaten raw meat occasionally for about 3 years.

I typically eat raw eggs, beef, bison, fish, and chicken. Nuts and veggies, some raw dairy when I can get it (mostly cheese).

Welcome!

mmmm Kombucha. I found that this replaced any cravings I had for carbonated beverages.

Yeah, the 811 might work for some people, but you just have to eat SO MUCH! Four pounds of fruit for breakfast? No thanks.

Good luck with the raw milk. I've never had it personally- it's illegal in my area and I've been unable to find it, but I've had friends tell me that it is completely different than pasteurized milk.

Somewhere between 10-14 lbs.

Just had my first raw halibut steak.

Omg, what a wonderful fish. It almost melts in your mouth and has such a lovely light flavor.

I've always found raw fish difficult for some reason. I didn't grow up eating fish ever, so maybe that's part of it.

Berries in general are just awesome. Before I went fully raw, I noticed a huge difference when I started eating lots of raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. I just felt full of energy in a way that other fruits just didn't provide.

Whenever I get the urge to bring bison to work, I tend to cover it in berries- adds awesome flavor and disguises the fact that it's a piece of raw meat.

Those sound similar to the eggs I eat during the winter (now).  They're not going to make you sick, they're just not as great eggs as from some other places.

Farmer's market season, I get straight up free range ones, and they have a color and flavor that can't be found in any supermarket egg.

During the winter here the birds aren't going to be eating bugs because there aren't any. At least they're cage free though.

my favorite cut is ribeye. Filet mignon is supposed to be better but I haven't tried it since going raw due to price.

Sup, rib eye buddy. This is by far my favorite cut.

A really good striploin can be awesome too though because the fat is usually nicely in a row on one side, so you can eat the meat and then save the fatty part for last. Delicious!

Both of those cuts are a pretty good place to start if you're having an aversion to raw red meat. You'll want to incorporate organ meats and interior fat later, but for now, easing into it on a normal looking steak is probably easiest.

I don't know if it really did anything for me, but aloe vera mixed with grapefruit juice is pretty good.

Also there's a health food store that sells a couple different ones. One of them is just straight up juice and it's tolerable but I suspect there's not much to it after the processing.

The other one I buy once in a while when I'm out and about and thirsty- it has a couple different juices and the aloe vera is all in pulp form- it's kinda weird to drink but tastes awesome and felt really amazing when I had a sore throat. So there may be something to it.

We are fucking bonkers when we can't allow ourselves to simply let this man live the way he wants to.

No kidding. This one is actually a strange episode really- most of them are about people with real eating problems- eating only mcnuggets, things like that.

This dude is a healthy looking guy who eats a SAD except for raw meat a few times a week. They sensationalized it a lot- if this guy ate steak tartare and sashimi for lunch every day, they wouldn't have done a thing.

Daniel seems super healthy- and he's eating grocery store meat.

Imagine how he'd look following a straight up raw paleo diet.

This was just like me a few years ago before I switched to straight up raw foods. I've always enjoyed raw meat... it's so much tastier.

ROFL. I was eating some raw fish, scallops, dulse, and cashews.

His blog says he was born in 1961.

Oh wow... that means he's a year younger than my dad... he looks WAY older than that.

They remind me of monkeys a lot. Like really a lot, the way they eat.

How old are they? Do we know?

Also I enjoyed a raw rib eye while watching this. It only seemed appropriate.

Welcome :)

I'm from Canada, and I've found that the key to feeling warm for me is just eating lots of fat.

Van's advice is great too. I used to do this at first with raw eggs- I kinda found it difficult to just 'rocky-style' them at the beginning. It was easier to take if they were slightly warm. Not an issue now though.

Another thing to note is that many people who are currently living to be very old in my area, would have began their lives on farms eating plenty of raw dairy, wild meat that grazed on land free of pesticides, in an environment free of man-made chemicals. Starting one's life in such a condition has to be beneficial.

PS I'll be eating organs this week too, but all pig, I pick them up Thursday. They are eating grain and scraps, but the farm they live on has healthy practices. The animals are all beautiful. There isn't much else for them to eat this time of year. I hope it is healthy for me. My head can do funny things. I still like peperoni with raw cheese, I confess. But , I really don't like cooked organ meat at all. Much better raw.

I would worry less about what the pigs are eating than other animals, pigs naturally having a pretty varied diet.

For things like cows though, who should be grazing on grass, that would be an issue.

Awesome vid Inger :)

Having some lamb chops right now. I don't do lamb a lot but they had a ton today at the butcher and it looked absolutely gorgeous.

I mystify my roommate because I never eat meat in front of her, but she keeps seeing these fatty cuts ending up in the fridge and then disappearing. "How are you losing weight eating all this fat?"

Health / Strep Throat advice?
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:19:15 am »
Just caught it from one of the girls at work!  >:

Been eating as many raw eggs as I can shove down my throat, some raw honey, and fruit smoothies. Any other advice?

I can't really swallow anything solid.

I wouldn't say it's unsafe, I've definitely eaten it before and not ended up sick.

But it's less tasty and less nutritious.
