Raw Weston Price / Re: Raw Food and Bone Broth
« on: February 17, 2014, 01:34:09 am »
I've been on the GAPS diet for over 6 months, eating meat and bone broths almost every day. It did make my nails very strong for the first time in my life. So I guess it was good for me..

But I am so happy that I don't have to cook it anymore since I'm on the raw diet now!

Hello Inger!
Yes, I have seen game meat in stockmann and other supermarkets, but it's not only too expensive for me (I am a 22-y.o. student), but also frozen (I would prefer fresh). So I'm looking for a place that sells it for a reasonable price (altho I don't really know what price is reasonable for game meat as I have never purchased it before). I'll be looking for ways to contact local hunters.)
I usually buy my organic beef (not sure if entirely grassfed tho) for 5-15 euros per 1 kg. (Usually around 8 euros).
I might travel to Helsinki sometime. If I do - it would be lovely to purchase some meat there. )
I have found only one brand of butter which is marked "from fresh cream", does it mean it's raw? It's Parmareggio Burro, in Stockmann. But I would prefer to find something more or less local.. I might try purchasing that Austrian butter though, thank you. )

Also, off topic, I just wanted to say that you are quite an inspiration for me, Inger. ,) I have watched some of your videos and read a bit of your diary before finally making the decision to try a raw meat diet. So, thank you! ,)

WAP - Weston A. Price; and I'm referring to Nutrition and Physical Degeneration;
WAPF - The Weston A. Price Foundation;
WWTL - We Want To Live by Aajonus Vonderplanitz;
GAPS - Gut and Psychology Syndrome by Natasha Campbell McBride (not raw but can be adapted, read the FAQ section on her website)

Hey, just in case anyone still needs this.
The best sourse of organic meat and milk in Tallinn is otsetarbijale.eu, the prices are very good as well. Highly reccomend it!
Organic eggs can be bought on Nomme market (there is a kiosk with eggs), not overpriced either. Organic meat can also be found there (inside the big hall by the entrance), as well as free-range chickens and other poultry.
piim24.eu also sell goats milk in several places on certain days.
There are several other websites and small stores that sell mahetoit, but I haven't tried those.

Now if anyone could tell me where can I purchase game meat and local raw butter and cream and maybe anything else that's good without it being overpriced? Or directly from the sourse?

WAP is about consuming nutrient dense foods, such as organ meats, lots of fat, etc.; it's about eating how is appropriate to you based on where you live. Preparing foods traditionaly. I read the book over a year ago and it has changed my diet a lot. I reccomend the book over the WAPF site. Make your own conclusions. What has turned me a bit away from WAPF, was Sally Fallon. If her diet is ideal, why does she look the way she does? She is certainly showing signs of phisical degeneration. And I'm guessing that it's because of the cooked foods.
I have read WWTL just a few days ago. WAP and WWTL (and even GAPS) have a lot in common and can be followed simultaneously. The result depends on whether you figure out what is exactly appropriate for your body.
I still haven't. While WAP has helped me a lot, it did not cure all, I figured moving onto raw primal is the next step. (And I've been on it for the last 1,5 months now)

Amanda,
That's strange, I only have 1 message in my inbox. I'm not good with these forums.)

Yes, okay, let's do that!)

Eric, I highly doubt that they would, as I live in Estonia. )

Hi! I'm new here.
I would like to purchase these books by Aajonus, but the price is too high (especially for a student).
So if there's somebody else there who wants the books, maybe we could get together and purchase the PDF, split the price?
Sorry for my english!
