Sometimes when you believe something and then read something that is totally opposite of that and looks legitimate then it really freaks my brain cells. I couldn't find him talking about cooked or raw omega 3-s though..

General Discussion / Question about beef liver
« on: August 27, 2010, 02:01:26 am »
Wanted to know if there is anything wrong with the liver if the holes in the liver are more like white/white-grey ? When I have bought beef lifer then the holes have had the same color as the liver itself. It tasted sweet like always but just curious.. It also has a white matter, a connection tissue ?

When I saw the whitened holes and white thing (it's strong almost like hard fat and flexible) on the liver, I started to think that what would happen when you accidentally eat cancerous animal organ ? I don't want to be pessimist at all, just curious.

I did experience it and went 6 months with it. When I was at home I was at the best but when I had to go out I experience racing heart and facial blushing (extreme). I started to think it was because of the diet but couldn't find anyone with these health problems eating the same. I had lots of theories that failed until a week ago I started to use iodine (probably Vitamin A too). Right next day, I did not experience any racing heart nor blushing. Even iodine in minimal amounts from iodized salt has helped with this. I think it's related to thyroid not able to produce hormones (thyroxine) as not enough iodine was available. But remember this that thyroid also needs Vitamin A to produce these hormones. As I was taking Cod liver oil regulary, I did not see any difference from Vitamin A from CLO alone.

I hope it helps someone with the same health problems.

General Discussion / Blood ammonia
« on: June 28, 2010, 11:39:57 pm »
Hey,

Well it's said to cut down on meat when you have high blood ammonia. Is there any research done with raw meat and blood ammonia ? Ammonia is byproduct of the meat and is produced in the colon. I wanted to try lactulose but it gave me tremendous gases. As I want to try and find some solution I'm going to eat oat bran as the beta glycan lowers the ammonia in the colon and see how it goes. The liver damage should be the culprit for higher blood ammonia but I was taking accutane for my acne about a year ago which could have caused this damage.

Lions swallow big chunks of meat. My dog swallows meat and chews vegetables. Is it human nature to swallow meat and chew vegetables for amylase ?

But here's a bit of research: http://www.ergo-log.com/meatchewing.html

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Euphoric effects from cacao
« on: April 26, 2010, 01:32:08 am »
I had exams recently and I ate whole bar of very dark chocolate during the exam. Cacao gave me some kind of narcotic/euphoric effect. I was feeling really really good on it. It never happened before I went low carb. Before low carb, it might have made me calmer or a bit sharper in thinking but nothing like this what I experienced during and after the exams.

I am wondering if low carb enhances the effects of cacao ?

"Together, such studies leave researchers thinking that these intestinal creatures are protecting their hosts." and I think if.. the host is protecting them or making their life comfortable by eating right.

General Discussion / How clean is your food ?
« on: March 29, 2010, 07:39:00 pm »
If you buy meat or fat from your butcher then how clean does it look like ? Can it have some "dirt" on it. I don't mean it literally but when I bought pork fat from my butcher and started to cut it at home, it didn't look "clean". It had some, for example, small hair pieces on it. Hair pieces were not from a human but similar when you drop a piece of fat on your carpet and pick it up. But they grow their own pigs and I have started to trust them as I recently changed butcher. But I haven't bought fat directly from butcher before so it came with small surprise.

Offt. By the way, the fat feels a lot like a gum. I usually have bought it from supermarket and it is hard and though. Is that right ?

Primal Diet / Milk egg drink
« on: March 22, 2010, 03:33:57 am »
Does anyone combine milk and egg and drink it ? How do you feel after drinking it ? Does it make you dizzy or drowsy ?

Seems like every time I drink this combination I get dizzy and extreme weakness. But it never happens when I don't combine these two. I remember someone mentioning that Aajonus does this. Can egg-milk drink clean liver as it made something to be dumped into my bowel. I still feel it being "there".

Health / Getting constipated when eating fish.
« on: March 13, 2010, 03:07:42 am »
I have problem with getting constipated after I have eaten herring. I know, it sounds weird but it is causing me some stress and discomfort after not having gone for 4-5 days. I have also eaten raw salmon that did not constipate me. The problem is with herring. What could cause this ? I have heard some people getting constipated after getting their high dose of Vitamin D. Could it be because of too much salt as these herrings come from container where they are kept in salt water ( although ocean is pretty salty too). Or might it be of getting too much calcium ? Herring has a lot of small bones. I remove the spinal cord but there are smooth bones in the meat that I usually ingest (not harmful at all).

I sometimes eat some other fish but others are just too expensive. 4lb of farmed salmon costs 22$ and tuna 40$. Herring is 3$ for 4lb :)

General Discussion / Piperin from pepper and other useful spices.
« on: March 04, 2010, 09:07:39 pm »
How many of you know about piperine and it's benefits ?
http://www.naturalnews.com/024829_piperine_curcumin_black_pepper.html

I haven't used black pepper for some time but I should try it and see if it has any effect. It is said to increase nutrient absorption.

Another spice I know well is curcumin. I use curcumin every day and usually put it into coffee (I have curcumin and cinnamon mixed together). Curcumin really helps with my mind power :). It's like a small boost in IQ.

Anyone else using spices ? I think there are great health benefits behind some spices but I also understand that many of you are following strict RPD and therefore I greatly appreciate it if this thread is moved over in case of offtopic.

General Discussion / To eat pork or not to eat ?
« on: March 04, 2010, 12:58:21 am »
Whats up with the pork ? Is it unhealthy because it's fed dangerously in USA (The feed in Estonia is not that bad at all) or I can get some awful parasites from eating it raw. For some three weeks I have been eating cooked pork and I am feeling pretty fine. But since I have been eating it day by day I feel like I should switch it to raw. But here is the question. What are the dangers ? I sometimes buy good quality beef and eat it raw but I can't afford it to eat everyday.

General Discussion / Bleu cheese and mold on cheese.
« on: February 11, 2010, 10:30:40 pm »
My mother bought some gorgonzola that is full of blue mold. I was wondering if it is healthy to consume blue cheese and every other cheese with mold ? I have read about blue cheese being unhealthy but the those same people would probably say that high-meat will kill you too.

So, do any of you consume blue cheese ?

*I read the label and it was aged with Penicillium roquefortii.

Impatient.. Already ate some. I have eaten it before and I remember experiencing not so great days after eating it but it didn't stop me to try it again. I feel a bit foggy after eating it. Doesn't happen with normal cheese.

Welcoming Committee / Hello from Estonia
« on: January 22, 2010, 11:40:04 pm »
Hey, I´m from Estonia which is one of the Baltic states in Europe. I first got interested in zero carb when reading articles by "The Bear" and then got interested in raw food. I could never thought of eating raw food as I was such a paranoid about parasites and worms and all those bacteria that could be on the meat. Even when I would have eaten one piece of raw meat, I would get worms and get sick. Well, I was wrong. I was brainwashed by the media. But don´t get me wrong, I just jumped in for this lifestyle.

For about a week and a half, I have been eating almost  zero carb cooked meat but except the milk as I somehow get depressive and negative thoughts if not consuming any dairy. But few times I have also tried raw meat and today I "drank" raw egg straight from the shell and ate about 400g of ground beef all raw. What an adventure! I liked the taste because it was sweet and tender and not tasteless and hard like the cooked meat is.

It was all good to the point of eating all of it. Later I got muscle weekness, I was tired and somewhat thirsty which never stopped. It was same with the raw egg. Is it normal to feel tired after eating raw meat as I just begun eating raw ? And could non-stoppable thirst be from detoxing like I have read from the forums ? I feel better after drinking the water but soon the thirst and tiredness returns.

I will keep testing and trying with different raw foods. And lots of good information to read from the forum. Thank you for the forum!
