Info / News Items / Announcements / Primal Pot Luck Meeting Today

Hi All,

I heard that there was a primal pot luck meeting today, 3-11-18 in Los Angeles, but have not been able to get any further details (time, location, contact info for organizer).

Does anyone know how I obtain these details?

Great question. I thought I read somewhere: "Don't eat saturated fat with seafood." --- Like: maybe eat EVOO with fish instead. But I have no real clarity on this issue. I'll do some more research and see what I can find.

...and there are a number of studies showing how dairy/grains etc. can cause brain-damage, not just the usual allergy-related symptoms such as skin-rashes etc.

Does this also include raw butter and cheese or just milk?

Cool. Thanks

Does anyone know how to find contact info for the L.A./Malibu RVAF group?

There is still a big Primal-Diet-oriented RVAF diet group within the LA-Malibu area. Try the primal diet yahoo group for now...

Thanks TylerDurden.

I'm still trying to find the L.A./Malibu group.

I did find a yahoo group... but the site timed out --- they may have a link to some sourcing, as suggested by Dingeman. I'll have to wait til they come back up to see what's there.

Thanks Dingeman. Good stuff.

Wow van, sounds like you may have gotten some accurate info from them. I imagine some others may have as well.

When I was researching OP two of their office employees, two Farmer's Market employees and one employee at another outlet told me unequivocally that they fed the animals grass only (sometimes a little hay). One of the employees even told me a story about how "bad" some of the other "grass-fed" companies were because they included grains in the food and OP didn't. And all of the local WAPF folks that I happened to talk to about OP told me that they believed that the cows were 100% percent grass-fed. I actually bought some of their products a few times originally but, of course once I found out the truth, stopped doing business with them.

Personals / Geographically Based List of Raw Paleo Folks Around the World

Hi All,

Is there a location based list of raw paleo enthusiasts -- particularly raw meat eaters -- that has been published anywhere?

I'm looking for the fastest and most efficient way to find raw meat eaters in Los Angeles and the surrounding area (and probably a few other cities as I travel)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Apani for your reply.

Sourcing isn't a problem. I've had that down for over 10 years now. I don't touch grains or anything that ate grains (although I have been eating some raw walnuts, which I'm beginning to think is a mistake because nuts seem akin to grains).

I have tasted raw grass-fed meat and wild fish years ago and I think it tastes better raw than cooked. So taste isn't an issue with me.

I've done a bit of research on eating raw meat and have come across some generalized concepts (but no specifics yet)-- many people are concerned about pathogens and parasites even with grass fed animals -- especially since other people and machines have handled the food. They have mentioned things like: freezing the meat for two weeks before you eat it, or marinating the meat with ACV or lemon juice (not for taste, but with the idea of killing undesirable things).

If you received some frozen grass fed meat in the mail from a reputable farmer then, once the meat thaws, you would simply open the package and start eating it without any further preparation?

The pasteurized organic non homogenized milk from trader joes(its from strauss farms) is better then OP milk imo, its half the price too.  Not raw but I'm not really concerned with 15 seconds of 160 degrees or so.

I've never had calaravile but I remeber it being even more expensive then OP

Also for anyone who doesn't know OP has some pretty shady practices, they outsource for a couple of there products like colostrum and I've read they will buy pretty shitty raw milk and pass it off as from there grass fed cows.

He confirmed the statement and left a real beauty in my email inbox.
Not only was the colostrum from another dairy, but it was from one of the most notorious dairies in California: the Vander Eyk Organic Dairy out of Pixley, California.
Perhaps you have heard of the Vander Eyk Dairy right here on this blog. My husband and I stayed up late one June evening learning video editing to get this video out with the breaking news story.
The Vander Eyk Organic Dairy is the first and only dairy in U.S. history to lose its organic certification.

OP parades around as "grass fed" alluding to being 100% GF but they aren't.  Imo Mark Mcafee is a snake and I would never support the dude.

Organic Pastures sneaks grains into their feed. I have a close friend who knows someone on the inside of Organic Pastures and he confirmed that they have been putting grains into the feed for well over 10 years -- while lying to the public and selling their products as "grass fed" -- destroying people's health while charging them grass fed prices. If they behave like this behind the scenes, what else are they hiding? I definitely don't buy their products. There are plenty of legit farmers out there.

Hi all! I’m brand new to the group and brand new to eating raw meat (although I've been wanting to go raw for awhile now).

I need to get clear on how to PREPARE THE MEAT CORRECTLY so that I can eliminate any possible pathogens and parasites.

Could someone refer me to a detailed resource for preparing various meats and fish before eating (marinades used, how much of the marinade to use per portion of meat, times to let meat marinade, etc.)?

I'm really excited about getting this going... safely, simply and ENJOYABLY!

Much appreciated!
