It's too bad that buying high quality food can be quite costly for many people in certain parts of the world, including the United States. For whether or not you are eating all organic, if any, even the cost of 'regular' food seems to have gone up at an alarming rate since our grandparents were kids, though especially over the past 50 years! (see the link below for further info) So, it can be financially difficult for people to eat the 'best' foods on a regular basis, yet regardless of a product's price, if it's fresh, tastes good, and makes you feel good, then perhaps it is 'good'? http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food/food-prices-see-steepest-increase-since-1974.aspx#axzz3Fc2GmaA2

This is definitely an interesting article regardless of what kind of diet you are currently on. Although there does appear to be a bit of speculation by both gentlemen involved, the writer also makes some good points about the history of our eating habits, as does Mr. Wrangham. So,whether or not you agree with the opinions stated, I believe the point of the article is that meat in any form does seem to be beneficial to us humans, whether we like it or not. In fact, this intrigued me to look further into it and I found another related article that folks on this forum might like to read ;) http://news.discovery.com/human/evolution/cooking-meats-ancestors.htm

I helped make it, any input would be greatly appreciated.

It's from a larger article that you can find here....

Exactly the kind of public mindset we need to wake up.

We are into using correct technology for correct principles to increase health.

This is an example of incorrect technology applied to incorrect health principles that will decrease health of people.

How is it incorrect? How will it decrease health?
There is no evidence of that whatsoever.
There has been almost no research on this.
At this point it is just an idea.

would you want such a high level of government control over what beef you can buy and how it must be cut?

Why strengthen laws that apply to minimally-processed grass-fed meats from healthy animals when the target industry is CAFO agribusiness?

This article makes no mention in this article whatsoever about about laws.
Where are you guys getting this from?
The article didn't say "New legislation will force companies to use this film"
What if it was simply an option?
Im assuming it would be.
There is no mention of them forcing small farms to use this.

I don't see anything wrong with this.
The casing is made out of organic ingredients, it's not like they are trying to force people to eat plastic.
I don't eat processed meats personally but I would rather my friends and family who do be safer.
Just because we embrace a mostly primitive lifestyle does not mean we should shun all technology. After all this is an INTERNET forum.
