Running and crapping
« on: April 03, 2009, 06:30:20 am »
So why is it most times that I really really push myself running (usually 1 to 1.5 miles), I end up having to take the most urgent and gigantic liquid crap 10-30 mins after?  I don't run long distance at all, and when I do run, I usually try and break it up with push-ups, pull ups, sprints, etc.  Anyone else have the same experience / know why this happens?

That's interesting. Have you noted if it is related to what you eat?

When I used to go with my ex to take her dog to a dog park one dog owner said that all the exercise makes the dogs poop a lot while they're there. They just run around the whole time.

haha great topic! When I use to be low fat, high carb this happened everytime I raw, umm not liquid but it was just an urgent need to go etc. Maybe too much fruit, and than running etc.. I'd say eat more meat and fats less carbs, see how it goes

probably the exercise shuts down digestion as blood is sent to the muscles and not the digestive organs. Exercise naturally occurs before eating (hunting) while the stomach is empty not afterwards when the stomach has food in it.

It only happens when I totally go for broke.  I went all out on 1.5mi the other day tho with no probs, but I did it in the morning on an empty stomach.  The other times were something like 3-4 hours after a pound of short ribs, so yeah I guess it probably had something to do with too much food in the gut.

Makes sense in the paleolithic we generally wouldn't have moved around very much for awhile after a meal.
