Whats everybody eating?
« on: November 15, 2015, 09:35:30 am »
Ok, maybe boring question, but I've been away and people change, and I'm looking for ideas! :D

What are you eating, when, and how many meals?

I've been eating a lot of egg yolk and fish lately. With colder weather approaching I might eat more protein in the morning as I get cold easily without it.

Today--persimmons, dates, bananas, tuna, swordfish, cashews, almonds, honey, kombucha. Also some bone meal. I LOVE persimmon season. I would have gotten some figs, but too many of the ones in each little plastic box were hard/unripe.

I eat two meals a day. One at roughly Noon and one at roughly 6PM. Both are a half pound of grass-fed/finished ground beef. I have maybe 1/2 cup of blocks of beef suet with that. Redmond's sea salt on top of both meals.
I start drinking water when I wake up and try to take down as much of a gallon as I can before lunch. I don't drink anything for a couple hours after lunch then drink until dinner.
I had some liver the other day and plan to start getting back into organs as I ease back into things but most of my meals will be straight muscle meat the first month or two.

I agree it is a pretty boring question.  :)
I am eating nothing at the moment, just staring mostly.  Just joking...don't take offense.

Fat only for breakfast feels best. Two meal - noon and late afternoon (4 or 5 pm). I switch from beef and lamb in the summer to fish and shellfish in the winter - it just happens that way every year. And after some experimentation with higher carbs, I'm back to low carb (but not zero carb, never ever). In the fridge now: tiny anchovies, last of the fall lamb, salmon skin (trimmings from a sushi place), asparagus, mustard greens, fermented cabbage and cauliflower. Experimenting with dried seafood from Korea (anchovies and mussels) but I have no way of knowing if they were dried hot or cold. Can't wait to see how crab prices are this winter.

Here we (some friends camp on my property) have plenty of melons, tomatoes and still a few watermelons grown on my land; mangoes, cherimoyas, papayas, guavas, persimmons, arbutus, oranges, apples, pears and avocados from Algarve; bananas from Madeira; a broad variety of vegetables; olives, various kinds of nuts; fish, shellfish and crabs; still a few good eggs and some mutton meat brought from France.

Soon a friend who went to France will come back with wild boar and in a few months we'll have our own eggs, honey and bee brood. There are some wild boars around here, but we couldn't get hold of any yet.

Cause and effect are distant in time and space in complex systems, while at the same time there’s a tendency to look for causes near the events sought to be explained. Time delays in feedback in systems result in the condition where the long-run response of a system to an action is often different from its short-run response. — Ronald J. Ziegler

Sliced lean beef w/ avocado; whole chicken; fatty cuts of pork; lamb; various types of wild ocean fish; oysters; squid or octopus if I can get them fresh (never frozen) which is rare; milk; kefir shakes (with a ton of eggs, honey, lemon and unripe bananas); cheese; vegetable juices (mainly chard, spinach, celery, basil, carrot and beet, with some parsley/cilantro and cucumber/zuccini and some others here and there); tomatoes with avocado; lemonade; grapefruits and oranges; some plantains; blueberries and strawberries; raspberries and blackberries when I can get them. Every now and then I'll replace the bananas in the shakes with pecans/walnuts/chestnuts/hazelnuts.

Waiting eagerly for the summer (which starts in about a month here) to get organic corn on the cob and some watermelons (gotta be careful with the latter).

We now live in a world where medicine destroys health, law destroys justice, education destroys knowledge, government destroys order, the press destroys information, religion destroys morals, and banking destroys the economy

So you seem to eat a lot of carbs? I don't eat dates any longer, haven't eaten them for a long time and never liked honey (unmixed). I have eaten little sugar (via fruit) for some months - don't know why, but it's definitely better for my health.

I could eat lower carb, but I don't notice a big difference either way.

Bought some pasture-fed eggs from the grocery today.  To be I honest I don't even know why I am trying to eat healthy anymore...Feel hopeless, but I will keep trying until the end.

I have been eating raw meat for more than a year. Now, my typical diet is like this:
Breakfast: 3 raw eggs plus some egg white and low fat milk, add one small bag of oatmeal, some nuts, one banana.
after work-out, a 8 ounce protein shake and a small cup of low fat yogurt.
Lunch: a small piece of raw fish (from frozen, about 4 ounce) and a piece of raw chicken breast(from frozen, 4~6 ounce), one bowel of raw vegetables, one or two slice bread.
before late afternoon swim, a fruit and another low fat yogurt, and after swim, a protein bar.
Dinner: a piece of raw beef (6~10 ounce), one bowel of raw vegetables, one or two slice bread.
before bed, a cup of low fat milk.
I adopt the diet very well.

Ok, maybe boring question, but I've been away and people change, and I'm looking for ideas! :D
