It would be easyer to check out the Recent Posts if there were groupped by topics and day.

Like this:

'Topic Name 1' (User1, User2,...)                           Today at 08:40:12 AM (the hour should indicate the last post)
'Topic Name 2' (User5, User8,...)                           Today at 05:40:12 AM
'Topic Name 3' (User7, User8,...)                           Today at 04:40:12 AM
.....
