looks like she's enjoying it!

in your journal you said you feed her raw meat/organs right?
have you always fed her like this?

if not did you notice any changes in her after switching?

Why, yes it certainly is!  ;)
Life isn't all about fashioning sharp sticks and taking down large animals you know!

Actually, if my life was about that at all I'd be really happy.

General Discussion / Re: Liver Issues, Fat, Protein, Ammonia?
« on: December 13, 2008, 07:33:59 am »
Wow, that certainly is a whole lot of protein and not much fat.
Are you sure you're taking into account the fact that fat is 9 calories per gram and protein is 4 calories per gram?

Also, if you suspect liver problems, eating raw liver would probably be a good idea.
I think there's a lot to the idea of like treating like (ie. eating liver helps your liver, etc.)
and also, I've never heard anything about raw liver being hard to digest. For me it certainly isn't.

Hey there Dameon.

It is good to hear about all the pros you are experiencing with this diet.
I have a feeling a lot of the cons will clear up sooner or later as well.

You seem open to experimentation, which is always a good thing.
I wish you peace and wellness!

haven't had a zit since then, and my pores have gotten smaller and my skin feels and looks very very healthy, if i may say so myself.

Welcome back livingthelife!

I was sad to see you leave, especially so suddenly!
You don't have to eat 100% raw paleo to be a part of this board you know!

I hope you continue to do well!

Don't be in a rut! Do what you've been doing all along!
Have you done more of your pieces on Soundclick?
They sound good! Do more, please.  :)

Thanks Craig! By rut, I more meant that I haven't been able to find anything new to get into for a while. Just listening to the same old stuff, which is all well and good, but I like to find new music too.

I'm listening to this right now... this is such a chilling, powerful song:

Cool. Have you noticed any specific results that would support the whole liver flush thing?

Hmm..

well I have noticed that my digestion has been amazing since I started this drinking this.
Movements have been very quick, easy, and comfortable. Which is very good, because if you've read any of my other posts you'd have seen that constipation is sometimes an issue for me.

I also just kind of feel better, healthier. Also, sometimes I used to get pains in my sides every once in a while, and I haven't gotten that at all since i started drinking this. I suppose that means it must be helping my organs out in some way?

When mixed with lime juice, the energy the drink gives is amazing. I can feel an energy buzz come on a few minutes after drinking it. Which is strange, considering that Tsetse says the drink may make you want to fall asleep.
The energy is not so apparent when I mix the eggs with orange juice.

I think I'll be keeping this up for a while, because it definitely seems to be having a positive effect on my body.

General Discussion / Re: How to stomach down organs?
« on: December 11, 2008, 02:24:30 am »
I started out with raw liver... didn't start cooked, just ate it raw. I had never had liver before, not even cooked.
I quite frankly thought it was gross at first, but I knew it was good for me so I just manned up I guess. I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Now it's no big thing to eat it.

That was the first organ I had, and since liver has the strongest flavor out of any organ (to me at least) I think it helped with the others.

Interesting that you hate kidney the most... even from the first time I had kidney I thought it was delicious. Same with heart, I love to eat heart.

Who knows, some people probably just get used to things quicker than others.

as far as my consumption of muscle to organs go, it's probably 99% muscle meat... but that's only because I've been lazy with my organs lately. Ideally I'd be eating more organs, and I should start eating more again.

Do limes differ in taste that much from lemons?
I don't see limes in our stores.

Yes there is quite a difference in taste. But that doesn't mean lemons wouldn't work just as well. It would just be "lemonade".

I've made it with juice from oranges as well, and that was very very good too

Interesting. Add sunflower oil to that, and you've got the liver flush recipe detailed here:

http://www.curemanual.com/blog/2008/10/liver-flushing-using-egg-yolks-lime-juice-and-oil-by-tsetsi/

Anybody ever tried this, by the way?

Yeah, this was the basis of my recipe that I just tweaked a bit.
I take a tbsp. of coconut oil after drinking the "limeade", I would mix it in but coconut oil doesn't mix very well. I found that out the hard way the first time  -v

Mmm-mmm!

I think I've finally perfected the recipe. Very simple to make and it's delicious

Ingredients:

- juice of 2 limes (organic)
- 4 farm fresh eggs

Simply squeeze the juice from the two limes into a glass, crack open the eggs into the glass, and stir just enough for the yolks to break up.

I think it's best that the whites be included as it helps to dull down the sourness of the lime juice and also creates more texture.

I just gulped down a glass of this and it was really good.

General Discussion / Re: Changes when cutting out carbs
« on: December 09, 2008, 09:54:23 pm »
Hey, can you tell me what have been eating? I am wondering what caused the white tongue.  Have you been eating raw or cooked foods? Thanks.

Hey there. At the time when I had the white tongue, I was eating raw zero-carb. The white tongue went away after I started eating carbs again.

But I don't think it matter whether I was eating raw or cooked, because if the white tongue was actually from candida, then I most likely had candida issues before I started eating raw in the first place

General Discussion / Re: Mucous??
« on: December 08, 2008, 11:57:28 am »
I just found this quote:
Mucus traps external antigens, like pollen, fungal spores and bacteria. The enzymes in mucus nutralize these threats. There is some evidence that our immune system learns what not to become sensitive to by exposure in the gut - i.e. by swallowing these potential antigens, you lessen the risk of becoming allergic to them. So swallow.

hopefully i'll find some better evidence, but it's something to think about

General Discussion / Mucous??
« on: December 08, 2008, 11:55:28 am »
Does anyone know anything about mucous??
I just had the strangest idea pop into my head, that may mucous is a medicine produced by our body that is good for us to swallow? You know, like when you have a stuffy nose (think back to the last time you had one at least  ;) ) and you get mucous in your throat. My mom told me when I was a kid that is was not good to swallow it and that you should spit the mucous out. But who knows? Does anyone?

Sorry if this is a dumb question  :P

General Discussion / Re: Liver, the good, the bad, and the smelly
« on: December 08, 2008, 08:16:23 am »
I tend to disagree with seeker...

I think that the human body is built to withstand a certain amount of toxins, and that liver from healthy animals is perfectly fine to eat. In fact more than perfectly fine.

To me, raw liver is one of the best energy producing foods there is. My body can certainly tell when I've eaten it.

Seeker does have a point though re: the difference between organic and 100% grass-fed. However, if it is indeed from a calf raised in the conditions you are describing, well, it's up to you.
I personally wouldn't eat it, just because if I'm going to be eating raw meat anything, it's going to be from 100% grass-fed. But as for as the toxin level is concerned, it is probably not too high.

i've been getting into new music lately, which is good. i've been in a musical rut for a while...

electronic music really has my attention right now, specifically the "Psybient" genre... psychedelic ambient.

i'm drinking a concoction of freshly squeezed lime juice from organic limes, farm-fresh eggs that I picked up at the farmer's market this morning, and virgin coconut oil.
this is a recipe that edwin shared a link to... it's supposed to cleanse the liver.

my roommates think i'm crazy haha
