General Discussion / Wild snakes of the local river
« on: August 24, 2013, 06:23:44 am »
Here are some sources of food for some people of this region.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eunectes not sure which one of the four subspecies..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boa_constrictor

Next week, probably on saturday, I will meet one of the village elders who is supposed to know just about everything of this area.
I ll ask him about the flora and fauna and share knowledge in general with me.

I asked some locals to take me hunting with them but they refuse since "it is exclusively for men" heh
but they told me they will share the snake with me, if I want.

I noticed that the thought of eating fishes/seafood and also reptiles does not disgust me as much as eating herbivorous animals. I cannot stand their fleshes.

Off Topic / Modern Kids Stories affected by the virus of civilization
« on: August 24, 2013, 02:14:03 am »
Today I was at the local school to read stories to kids and to my surprise, they came with a book about a funny paleo child that used to paint animals in caves and everytime he did that, bisons, deers, all kind of birds, mammuth etc... would gather around him.
Unfortunately though, people from his tribe blinded with greed, took advantage of the situation and killed most of the animals so that they ended up without food and instead of hunting/gathering, humans became agriculturists..

I did not like the ending - that came totally unexpected as I did not know the book - but I quickly turned its message to a more proactive one - that is respect and care for the natural resources around.

And it came just about right because we went to pick some cherimoyas right after. ;D

This event stimulated some thoughts into my head, like

  • Yet again  we can see that "total faith in civilization"is  lurking at every corner and it is scary the way and the means it uses to propagate itself like a deadly virus..

  • It was sad and alarming at the same time to notice that the writers of this story pointed to this passage in history of man as if it was a "blessing". And it is ever present  in civilization..

  • Faith in agriculture is same to faith in technology.
We are moving towards an era where the food will be made of plastic and 3d printed foods http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/jun/04/nasa-3d-printer-space-food and the premises are just the same as for the gmo`s - saving world from hunger.
This time we will get supersick and die instead of bugs and billion people will be exterminated within maybe 1 generation?

I sincerely cannot believe how people can still buy into this delusion.. >:

Ohhh so nice to see the ways Nature uses to "stop us" for a moment and get out of ourselves to notice we are not the only creature on Earth.

Even swearing at it works :)

Yeah, I feel like I got no time to talk around things in my awake state, guess my subconscious feels the same way :).
So, do you think the subconscious somehow sees things more clearly and can connect things with eachother?
Because, alot of things I cant figure out during the day.. I figure out during my sleep and write them down in the morning.

I also feel that the subconscious sometimes shows me what I want most at that moment in time and it shows it to me in my dreams.

"You" are your subconscious, too.
It is just that for some reason (or circumstances) while on your waked state,  the rational "you" takes over  a more wholistic comprehension, that is why you cannot "see" during the day..

Western society tends to do so.

It is remarkable though that you manage to stay connected with "the other side of you" and get clear directions from it.
Good job!

You could definitively bring more and more of this "sleepy awareness" into your waked life by allowing it some space during your day, by Being in Nature, practicing meditation, relaxation, reading ancient myths and fairy tales..

Nourish the Divine in you, Kaizen  ;)

My parents are there and do not want to retire oversea..
I m waiting for the day they would come and see me.
They are also very city dwelling and it could be a bit uneasy for them to stay on a farm in a rural area..

I have a recurrent nightmare since 3 years.
Finding myself seated on a plane flying back to Europe.
I am at my parent s house.
Once there, I look up and the sky is grey and there is no Sun.
I ask myself:  I do not want to be here!  why am I here? Why the hell I went back for?
I really cannot find an answer.
Then I start to feel anxious and look for flights, hoping to find one within a few days..

Finally, I wake up and try to look around in my dark room and when  I recognize "my" place, I feel so relieved I am back to this present state of consciousness.  ;D

It is clear that a part of me (the emotional one) is looking still for a physical connection with my parents over there, so the nostalgia is the engine that powers that plane really..
The other part, instead, let s call it the "rational"one, makes no sense of that decision because it is very clear from its point of view that Europe it is not an option anymore.

Emotions took over "me" ; that is why I "find" myself seated in there and the rational me has no "consciousness" about it.

When I land, it is when I  get down to earth (literally, hehe) and realize I acted irrationally (the rational mind takes over the emotions).

The Sun is the wake up call.

Dreams sometimes gives me answers on things that have been bugging me for a while.
Different from your dreams it is not surreal, but just straight to the point.
Aura, do you know alot about dreams?

Dreams are messages from the unconscious mind.
It is You talking to yourself honestly.

You must be a kind of practical person, hence the "straight to the point" language.

Everyday I learn more and more.. l)

Off Topic / Queen Rain and the St(c)reams of Inner Awakening
« on: August 23, 2013, 07:05:16 am »
Late this afternoon I had a walk in the forest within the property I live.

I enjoy taking off my shoes and feel the humid, wet and soft sensation of mud and stones underneath the soles of my feet.

Looked at my legs; so "dirty" my mother would say, "now go and wash yourself".

Fortunately for me, she could not see.
Unfortunately for her, she could not see.

Keep walking, listening to the birds singing, a quick look at the horizon, farewelling the Sun.
Suddenly, a voice come from the forest behind me.
It is the sound of Energy transformed into Matter.

It is the Rain. Queen Rain.
As she gently flies with her invisible  wings, raindrops like tears bless the creature of the World Below, in a playful cry of joy.

(I hear she is coming. She is just there behind  but did not yet touched me).

The sky gets dark. The wind start to blow. Trees, palms and shrubs are shaken by it, like impatiently waiting to be embraced by the watery arms of Queen Rain.
Seems like all Nature bows and waves to her coming.

And I am standing there, in the midst of this wild temple, waiting for my turn to become united with the Flying Waters of Creation.

When finally reached by its liquid fingers, shivers like quick st(c)reams flow down my body, awakening those inner ones, running underneath the layers of my bodily microcosm.

And suddenly, I feel so nourished, so refreshed by this touch of Life no human invention could ever replicate.

The sound of rain w/o music

Well, the "martyrdom" pattern in western civilization tales it is quiet popular.
The most widespread tale is the one of Jesus Christ. It permeates all our culture.

More,  you lived twice the scene prior to the killing but this time - being conscious- you overcame "death".
Just like when Jesus resurrected.

On a psychological level, seems  you are battling with multiple aspects of yourself.
The imminent Apocalipse is about to strike your (own) world and in order to save it, you must sacrifice a part of you.

Needless to say, you are both "You" and the "daughters".

From the dream as you wrote, I am not able to say what the girls represent.

Personally I would've searched for eggs and organs on the salmon first.

Still, must've been a great dream. This very morning I had a dream my best friend's three daughters were the only ones that need to either kill me or die themselves to stop the end of the world. The weird thing is I lived the end twice, EXTREMELY VIVIDLY, first time I died, second time I knew what they were going to do and I "won". Terrible dream because I love those kids and him.

Very profound archetypal pattern.
You have got the proof that with consciousness (by being conscious) we become invincible.

Hi guys,
last night I dreamt I was swimming in a river and catched a healthy  big salmon  plus, walking on the shore a little later, I found a big squid.  :o
I was with an imaginary friend and he speared its brain out.
We sat and ate the squid first but not the head..

Pardon me guys but tonight instead of listening to the soothing sounds of the forest around and meditate, I just listen to this old, screamy "friend" of mine.  8)

Full moon right NOW!

Wouldn`t you like to give this rewild thing a try ?  O0

It happened because I used somebody s else site structure.
But now I am reviewing to make sure I replace all the old links.

I am not sure cooked food is the cause of all evil.
It is a holistic matter therefore cannot be blamed solely on diet..

Lifestyle is key.

We should aim to do our best and go back to a natural lifestyle in Nature (either a property in a rural area or in the jungle).
It wont work in cities.

The private property would act as a base camp where to settle in a new country and a place for training.

I think transition is needed because we are not fit (in the body and in the mind, and psychologically as well) to move from the couch to the rainforest in the blink of an eye..
Many of us homo domesticus are just sick, so sick..
We need a place to heal and learn indeed.

143
Very nice website, but with a strong  vegan tendency... How do you feel with them? I disagree also with their view of the closed couple and family as being natural. The life in tribes without private property (of the persons as well as of the goods) has been the natural and normal way for hominids and humans during millions of years.

All the best,
François

Thank You Francois!
mmm vegan tendency you say.. what exactly gives you this impression?
It was totally involuntary.

Do you think we westeners would be able to translate to a tribal reality without being overwhelmed by the drastic change?
I m interested how you would set it up instead, in the beginning..

But yeah, it should be as you said.
Certainly it will be one of the most important  aims after we get acquainted.

144
My only concerns would be if there heaps of biting insects and my hopelessness at learning a new language, plus the reality of my family commitments.

There are not many biting insects here..
It is mosquitoes and even during the rainy seasons are not many..
Some thicks and flees in the forest but that is pretty much it..
Portuguese is easy to learn. 5 months perhaps for an english speaking person?

145
While I am here in this beautiful region,
I thought why not to try and set up a healing and loving space while together we walk the path of re-wilding ourselves through nature, diet and indigenous knowledge?

That is what I m currently into at the moment.

If interested, please have a look at http://edenwithin.blogspot.com.br/

Thank You!

« on: July 29, 2013, 05:41:03 am »

I am hampered by the fact that I don't have a driving-licence and don't speak Italian. If I did, I would go into the hills behind my home and just buy a goat-carcass from one of the wild farmers there.

Gasp!
I do possess both of those qualities but I am not around..
I wish I could help you -[

Do you guys like wild boar?
I guess you could buy it or even hunt it down in the woods yourselves..

I do not think it is strictly necessary  to set up a "raw paleo community" where every member eat the same thing.
It is very hard because people have different needs and likes and dislikes..
Better to gather smart and open minded individuals who are into experimenting and not judging.

This also is hard to find  l) but I think it is important to try and stay dogmas free (politics, religion, spiritual, diet and so on..)

I cannot imagine TT being open to raw meat eating.
I bet they would say it comes from the devil.. >D

Raw al, did you already discuss with them about this?

Raw al: How do you think you are going to keep a raw paleo diet in a TT community?
I remember everybody watching at me very weird when I would eat raw yolks and 10 bananas for breakfast..

Plus, they did not seem particularly health conscious as well.
They were eating burnt food items and when I addressed that, they told me their major focus is on their god and not health (while on their int. website they do talk about health and healthy foods, even mention raw sometimes..)
Which makes completely no sense to me and I just cannot accept that.
So they tried to make me feel selfish because I did not want to eat overcooked-burnt food but my mindset and my heart and my body havegot no place left for this crap, really.. -v

From what I understand Israel is simply a code word meaning those who wish to return to god.  In other words everyone is from the tribe of Israel.

That's right.
