they make a big deal about anything that can scare the average person. Their goal is make us so fearful we will give all our rights up to gov

Easy there tiger.

It's real and this is Iceland, not the states. There is very little corruption in our government.

General Discussion / ORF virus? Is it something we should worry about?
« on: November 19, 2010, 08:07:39 am »
I just read that ORF virus is especially rampant in Icelandic sheep this year.

Apparently it's a virus infection people get on their skin when they handle sheep a lot. The article said you shouldn't have to worry about eating the meat, but granted I'm sure they don't take into account people who eat their meat raw.

Anyone know anything about this? Supposedly this is very common.

Welcoming Committee / Re: Hi all

Hey buddy. Welcome.

First off; You will get better. Believe it.

It sounds like your digestive tract is probably a right mess. Eat enough fats, and enough highmeat. That is a powerful healing tool. But don't overdo things. Your stomach will gradually get stronger. It might take a year, or it might take five. But you will get better.

Give We Want To Live a read. It should help you get on your way. If dairy doesn't agree with you then skip it. Make sure you test everything extensively though to make sure what really works and what doesn't.

Make sure your meat is organic and grassfed.

And don't hesitate to ask questions here. Make many threads and ask a lot of questions, it's not annoying. People are happy to help.

That is just wonderful. Here in the UK, we are treated like children with so many substances/chemicals prohibited and  no right to carry guns etc.. The US is so much more mature re the guns issue. Sure, there may be Columbine-like shootings in the US every now and then as a result(easily solved anyway by allowing everyone everywhere to carry guns to thwart such potential threats), but it does mean more freedom for the rest of us.

I heard of a similiar campaign where a US-based company insisted that every one of its employees own a  gun of some sort.

There was even a marvellous SF story I read once which featured a possible future where the average  American family had a nuclear missile in their back-yard!

World is way better off if guns are banned. End of story.

I'm having a problem not being hungry all the time, I eat bonemarrow, fat fish, beef. I'm still having some kind of flu-feeling, my puls is so high, I can't sleep. I was not healthy when I started eating raw, but how long will it take before I feel better, I guess everyone is different.

You might want to ease into it. You seem to have jumped in head first.

I'm not sure how long I had high pulse for, but it was atleast a month or more.

This topics has been moved to the hot topics forum as wheatgrass is non-palaeo.

Unsurprisingly, given my own experience, I quite agree with PP. I did not do well on wheatgrass. Not only did I find the taste truly appalling but I felt somewhat worse, afterwards. Nothing major but it was clear that I was not benefitting from the stuff given symptoms. Also, from what I read, wheatgrass has a pretty bad rep among those who've tried it.

Re non-palaeo foods mention:- It wasn't Natural Hygiene, but Aajonus and various Primal Dieters who insisted that my issues with raw dairy were solely due to detox. I had  6 months of pure hell as a result of blindly trusting in these peoples' false assurances re pretending that allergies to raw dairy were impossible etc.. If I had had at least some warning re raw dairy, I would have gotten healthier much quicker. I do believe in genuine detox, but I am also aware, given past experience, that many people who claim to be detoxing, especially those reporting frequent violent detoxes after eating certain specific foods, are usually deluding themselves and are in some way allergic or whatever.

I am sure that some people, most of whom are already pretty healthy, may do seemingly fine on raw dairy or wheatgrass or similiar non-palaeo or non-raw foods; but most who end up doing rawpalaeodiets usually have severely compromised immune-systems etc. as a result of decades on SAD diets, and therefore some of those weakened people will have extra allergies/sensitivities to certain foods that they may not have had in a big way before they became ill. So, it makes sense to provide a warning before recommending such foods.

Home cultivated WG has a lot of mold on it and Mycotoxins. I got sick every time I ate some.

This august I picked some very tall wild growing grass and juiced it. Felt pleasant wellbeing every time I drunk it.

@yon yonson: I don't care if something is said to be poisonous. I use my intinct, my smell and my taste and till know they never betrayed me. Of course it works only with raw, unprepared food.

There seems to be concensus among mainstream websites that dogs are lactose-intolerant, especially after weaning. Perhaps fermenting the milk makes it easier for the dog to digest, though.

Yup, I know. I'm doing it to begin with due to the fact that he's been on a carb diet his whole life. Also as a slight experiment. I don't intend to feed him milk long term.

Anywho, funnily enough he chooses milk over meat any day. But according to your philosophy that is because he's allergic and addicted, right? ;>

I've recently started feeding my dog raw lamb, raw suet marrow, etc.. I also give him a little bit of fermented milk every day. So far it has reversed his chronic ear inflammation.

False, I pay mostly by debit card.

The person below me has kayak'd on choppy sea-waters.

With the choppy conditions I've also kayak'd around the rock formations, there is some crazy sucking-in, splashing, rocks appearing from under you, water gushing and lifting you up high and then disappearing from under you. I also kayak'd through a long, short & narrow tunnel through a rocky head, only to find that it was blocked at the other and, and the four of us had to back-paddle all the way out. Claustrophobic shit xD The sea was oscillating as well while we were in there so we would be submerged except our heads, and then it would drop. Also went in a cave with seals. In river kayaking I went off a ~4 metre waterfall drop backwards as well, was fun xD

True I kayaked around the vestfjords in Iceland.

The person below me is going to see the new Harry Potter movie.

Health / Re: Your opinions on Uric Acid blood readings?
« on: November 14, 2010, 08:39:53 am »
Actually my uric spiked from 446 to 552 or from 7.5 to 9.2.  The normal medical range is 4-7 and over 8 is considered quite high and has resulted in gout symptoms over time in the past for me.

That is indeed quite troubling. You might want to send an email to Aajonus. I think the email is optimal@earthlink.com I think he charges like 30$ but I'm sure he has the answer to this.

Although according to research milk helps prevent gout, so I'm sure that as big of fan of milk he is, he will probably tell you to get some milk.

I'm not sure though, if a filippino should drink milk.

120
Milk consumption has been recorded 20.000 years BC. I'd say that is a fair amount of time to adapt.

Anywho, I wont be as arrogant and obnoxious as to tell you that you should or should not drink milk. Try it out, see how you fare on it and then make up your mind.

A lot of people here have problems with it. I for one, have no problems what so ever and am thoroughly enjoying my milk experience and think it's of great benefit.

As far as kefir goes, I'm not fond of it. You do realize that it's a mushroom right? And it provides very little but yeast, which I don't want in my body.

I have done colonics.

Dr. Tam's Miracle Tea (only in the philippines)

Castor Oil

Barefoot Herbalist Lower Bowel Balance capsules

They all work and you must know which one is for which.  If you are interested I can spell it out later on.

Isn't castor oil considered poisonous or something?

Hi ForTheHunt,

How did you go about the colon cleanse?

What did you use?

How long did you cleanse for?

Thanks,

Phil

I did the arise and shine colon cleanse. You can probably google it.

What you do is you go buy psyllium husk and bentonite clay and then you put 1 heaping teaspoon or something of psyllium husk and 1/3rd of bentonite clay into water, stir it and drink it. You do this like 4-5 times a day.

Then do an enema atleast once a day to clear out what ever comes out. I'm pretty sure mucoid placque is not real, although it comes out of me every time. This still has been one of the biggest catalysts of regaining my health. I suggest you don't do this for more than 5-6 days. Eat light leading up to it and then fast no more than 5-6 days.

And uhm, yeah. There are herbs and shit you can buy which supposedly stimulates release of mucoid placque. I've always taken them, although I'm not 100% convinced of their value, although I've never tried it with out them. I got mine at blessed herbs. It's called digestive stimulator or something.

That's all I can think of as of right now. Feel free to ask me any questions after you've done some research
