ESTIMATES of the size and composition of Indonesia's booming population may remain just that despite an ongoing census, if the "discovery" of a 157-year-old woman is anything to go by.

Census officials have said they believe the woman's claims to have been born in 1853, when Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata debuted in Venice, the Crimean War erupted and San Francisco got its first street signs at intersections.

"There's no authentic data to prove her age but judging from her statements and the age of her adopted daughter, who's now 108 years old, it's difficult to doubt it," statistics bureau official Jhonny Sardjono said.

The only person verified to have lived past 120 years of age was Frenchwoman Jeanne Calment, who died in 1997 at the age of 122.

South Sumatran villager Turinah would be fully 25 years older than Calment when she died, according to officials.

Even more incredible, she still works around the house and has smoked clove cigarettes all her life, Mr Sardjono said.

"Despite her age she still has an incredible memory, clear sight and has no hearing problems. She speaks Dutch quite fluently," he added. Indonesia was a Dutch colony for hundreds of years until 1945.

He said Turinah burnt all her identification documents to avoid being linked to an alleged communist coup in 1965.

Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country with a population of about 240 million people.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has said the census results will be important for future governance.

Guys and Gals,  chip in with your 2 cents why raw meat makes people healthy despite the common medical paradigm

- that raw meat is dangerous to your health
- that raw meat is full of dangerous bacteria
- that raw meat is full of dangerous parasites
- that raw meat is indigestible.
- that raw meat is dirty

etc.

For example, for eczematics / psoriatics:
- raw meat on experience is CLEAN MEAT.
- cooked meat is toxic and the body is overloaded with toxins, and has a need to express through the skin.
- raw meat digests far more easily and completely than cooked meat which results in less energy expended to digest and less waste material

Health Topics  -    Soy Alert!
Friday, 01 May 2009 14:24

When Rod Blagojevich was elected governor of Illinois in 2002, he immediately made a change in the prison diets. Beginning in January 2003, inmates began receiving a diet largely based on processed soy protein, with very little meat. In most meals, small amounts of meat or meat by-products are mixed with 60-70 percent soy protein; fake soy cheese has replaced real cheese; and soy flour or soy protein is now added to most of the baked goods.

The governor's justification for replacing nutritious meat and cheese with toxic soy protein was financial-to lower the enormous costs of running the Illinois Department of Corrections. However, the likely reason is payback for campaign contributions from Archer Daniels Midland, the main supplier of soy products to the Illinois prisons.
Suffering of Inmates

Early in 2007, the Weston A. Price Foundation began hearing from inmates who were suffering from a myriad of serious health problems due to the large amounts of soy in the diet. These prisoners had found us through the Soy Alert! section of our website. Complaints include chronic and painful constipation alternating with debilitating diarrhea, vomiting after eating, sharp pains in the digestive tract, especially after consuming soy, passing out, heart palpitations, rashes, acne, insomnia, panic attacks, insomnia, depression and symptoms of hypothyroidism, such as low body temperature (feeling cold all the time), brain fog, fatigue, weight gain, frequent infections and enlarged thyroid gland. Since soy contains anti-fertility compounds, many young prisoners may be unable to father children after their release.

The suffering of these men is intense and medical care is palliative at best. Many have had sections of their digestive tract removed, but all requests for a soy-free diet are denied. The men are told, "If you don't like the food, don't eat it." That means that unless they can afford to purchase commissary food, they must eat the soy food or starve.

Off Topic / Six men to brave 520-day isolation on 'Mars mission'
« on: June 04, 2010, 07:19:43 am »
Quote
MOSCOW - Six men from Europe, Russia and China will on Thursday be voluntarily locked away in a module for almost one and a half years to simulate the psychological effects of a mission to Mars.

An Italian, Frenchman, three Russians and a Chinese man will spend the next 520 days in the isolation facility at a Moscow research institute when its hatch slams shut at 2:00 pm (1000 GMT).

Like a real Mars mission, the crew will have to survive on limited food rations and their only communication with the outside world will be by email, with a delay of up to 40 minutes.

The hatch will only re-open when the experiment is over or if one of the participants is forced to pull out.

"It will be trying for all of us. We cannot see our family, we cannot see our friends, but I think it is all a glorious time in our lives," said Chinese participant Wang Yue, 27, ahead of the experiment.

The volunteers will have their days in the module at the Russian Institute for Biomedical Problems (IBMP) divided into eight hours of sleep, eight hours of work and eight hours of leisure.

A team of three will spend one month aboard a special module meant to represent the Mars landing craft, while two will also spend time exploring a reconstruction of Mars itself.

The idea is to exactly mimic the timescale of a Mars mission—250 days for the trip to Mars, 30 days on the surface and 240 days for the return journey, totaling 520 days.

The crew also conspicuously lacks women, meaning the experiment will not be able to examine the possible sexual tensions that could arise on a trip to Mars for a mixed-gender crew.

Yury Karash, a Russian space policy expert, said the gender composition of the crew would allow the participants to focus on their professional duties instead of unwittingly competing for attention of their female crew members.

"It is better for the crew to be same-sex," he said on Russian television. "No-one has abolished the basic instinct yet."
Volunteers have already admitted that they will be tested by being separated from their loved ones and partners for such a long period of time.

Frenchman Romain Charles, 31, said the hardest thing will be the disruption of contact "with the family, the girlfriend, the friends with whom the distance is going to be difficult to manage."

Their diet will be no different to that enjoyed by real-life astronauts on the International Space Station and the crew will be given the food at the beginning of the experiment, forcing them to ration out their supplies.

The experiment is a joint venture between the IBMP and the European Space Agency (ESA), which describes the project as a mission "to mimic a full mission to Mars and back as accurately as possible without actually going there."

The ESA and the US space agency NASA have separately sketched dates in around three decades from now for a manned flight to Mars.

The Red Planet's distance from Earth varies between 55 million kilometers (34 million miles) and more than 400 million kilometers (250 million miles), depending on where the two planets are in their respective orbits.

The project, the first full-duration simulated mission to Mars, follows a similar experiment at the (IBMP) last year which saw six volunteers shut away for a mere 105 days.

I'm wondering if it were us, what diet would we bring along?  Will our raw meats and raw organs keep refrigerated or frozen that long?  What food stuff would you bring along if it were you?

Regarding the sex abstinence part, 520 days of zero sex sounds like too much torture to me.

Health / IBS: Try Olive Oil Enemas
« on: May 30, 2010, 08:03:49 am »
Any IBS sufferers here?

Seems there is a shortcut to cure IBS: Olive Oil Enemas

Try it, it may work for you.

Please try extra virgin olive oil enemas every other day before sleeping.  Try 12 ounces at least inside.  Hold for at least 15 minutes.  Lie down in different positions, left, right, flat on back, flat on tummy, and with ass raised.

Please report if you have marked improvement after 1 week.

----------

Why Olive Oil Re-Educates the Colon

There are certain characteristics that make olive oil the premiere choice as a medium for use in procedures that help re-educate the colon posture within the abdominal cavity. They are as follows:

   1. Olive oil is heavier than water and as such, implant procedures, which utilize gravity to aid in the re-education process (posture normalization), are further aided by the heavier weight of the oil. Additionally, introducing olive oil to full colon capacity will result in a therapeutic distention or expansion of the organ. This distention therapeutically stretches the colon. With repeated implant sessions, this “stretching” process will tend to realign and reconstitute the integrity of the organ within the abdominal cavity towards a normal shape, size, and position. By using gravity along with this stretching action, old kinks, loops, gnarls, or twists of the colon can be corrected.
   2. Because Olive oil is fairly stable inside the colon, massaging techniques—especially massaging techniques, which also incorporate gravity—is useful to realign and lift the colon back into a normal position, especially the transverse section.
   3. Administering the olive oil in the knee-chest position is a good example of how gravity can be used to promote the “re-education” process.
   4. Olive oil lubricates the mucosa lining in the colon. The lubrication process further aids in the “re-education” of the colon. Although many people take olive oil in their diet orally, rectal infusion is excellent because the mucous membrane of the bowels can absorb the oil much faster with higher saturation.

Olive oil works to heal the colon. The above technique is used with as much olive oil as one can hold, 1-3 quarts, a non-latex enema bag and a retention nozzle. In addition, smaller amounts of olive oil, along with Aloe Vera and MSM, work to heal an inflamed colon when one has IBS or any other related bowel disease.

Health / Paleo Diet: High Risk for those who go Off-Track? / Cheat?
« on: May 25, 2010, 03:52:43 pm »
Recently my 8 year old boy suffered intense abdominal pain and continuous bleeding.  CT-Scan turned out intussusception (telescoping of large intestine stage with another stage and stuck).  Of course since I'm the family healer he avoided surgery and got well and enabled the miracle cure.

I discussed this with another doctor and I said my son was on cooked / some raw paleo diet plus organic rice.  Absolutely no wheat, corn, beans, etc.  My theory is since days prior to the incident, he was sleeping over at cousins who fed him pizza and noodles.  He wasn't used to that stuff.  Violent detox ensued, diarrhea.  In the process of the violent detox his intestines dried and stuck up with the wheat crap like hardened dried paste.

My doctor friend said maybe my son is not used to wheat.  And since wheat is today considered normal food.  We should train the boy to eat "normal food" so he doesn't get that kind of episode again.  She said you can't possibly police everything a child eats when he's growing up.

Many of us here have violent detox reactions to non-raw paleo food.  As adults many of us know what to do.  But what about our children?

Need thoughts and opinions.

"A new earthquake" is what peasant farmer leader Chavannes Jean-Baptiste of the Peasant Movement of Papay (MPP) called the news that Monsanto will be donating 60,000 seed sacks (475 tons) of hybrid corn seeds and vegetable seeds, some of them treated with highly toxic pesticides. The MPP has committed to burning Monsanto's seeds, and has called for a march to protest the corporation's presence in Haiti on June 4, for World Environment Day.

(Reuters) - Eating bacon, sausage, hot dogs and other processed meats can raise the risk of heart disease and diabetes, U.S. researchers said on Monday in a study that identifies the real bad boys of the meat counter.

U.S.  |  Health

Eating unprocessed beef, pork or lamb appeared not to raise risks of heart attacks and diabetes, they said, suggesting that salt and chemical preservatives may be the real cause of these two health problems associated with eating meat.

The study, an analysis of other research called a meta-analysis, did not look at high blood pressure or cancer, which are also linked with high meat consumption.

"To lower risk of heart attacks and diabetes, people should consider which types of meats they are eating," said Renata Micha of the Harvard School of Public Health, whose study appears in the journal Circulation.

"Processed meats such as bacon, salami, sausages, hot dogs and processed deli meats may be the most important to avoid," Micha said in a statement.

Based on her findings, she said people who eat one serving per week or less of processed meats have less of a risk.

The American Meat Institute objected to the findings, saying it was only one study and that it stands in contrast to other studies and the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

"At best, this hypothesis merits further study. It is certainly no reason for dietary changes," James Hodges, president of the American Meat Institute, said in a statement.

Most dietary guidelines recommend eating less meat. Individual studies looking at relationships between eating meat and cardiovascular diseases and diabetes have had mixed results.

But studies rarely look for differences in risk between processed and unprocessed red meats, Micha said.

She and colleagues did a systematic review of nearly 1,600 studies from around the world looking for evidence of a link between eating processed and unprocessed red meat and the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

They defined processed meat as any meat preserved by smoking, curing or salting, or with the addition of chemical preservatives. Meats in this category included bacon, salami, sausages, hot dogs or processed deli or luncheon meats.

Unprocessed red meat included beef, lamb or pork but not poultry.

They found that on average, each 1.8 oz (50 grams) daily serving of processed meat a day -- one to two slices of deli meats or one hot dog -- was associated with a 42 percent higher risk of heart disease and a 19 percent higher risk of developing diabetes.

They found no higher heart or diabetes risk in people who ate only unprocessed red meats.

The team adjusted for a number of factors, including how much meat people ate. They said lifestyle factors were similar between those who ate processed and unprocessed meats.

"When we looked at average nutrients in unprocessed red and processed meats eaten in the United States, we found that they contained similar average amounts of saturated fat and cholesterol," Micha said.

"In contrast, processed meats contained, on average, four times more sodium and 50 percent more nitrate preservatives," Micha added.

Last month, the Institute of Medicine urged the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to regulate the amount of salt added to foods to help Americans cut their high sodium intake.

The FDA has not yet said whether it will regulate salt in foods, but it is looking at the issue.

Health / Buteyko Method: Learning to Breath Properly
« on: May 09, 2010, 12:35:58 pm »
Buteyko Method, is this another tool we can use in our quest for perfect health?

My friend Jackie lent me a book entitled Every Breath you take by Dr. Paul Ameisen

The core teaching is:

- We need carbon dioxide
- each human cell needs  specific concentration of carbon dioxide : 7%
- When human life first began on the planet, the composition of the atmosphere was  more than 20%  carbon dioxide.
- air sacs evolved out of the theory that atmospheric carbon dioxide today is a lot less. Lungs provide 6.5% carbon dioxide
- An important factor that seriously affects that level of necessary carbon dioxide in the lings is over-breathing -- hyperventilation.
- when carbon dioxide is low due to over-breathing, this causes a chemical reaction which makes it hard for oxygen to be released from the blood stream into the tissues of the body.  The tisshues of the body then become starved of oxygen.

Do you have experience with Buteyko Method?

Does it work?

Yummy Raw Horse Meat Tapa Recipe

Our maid makes horse meat tapa cooked for my wife and kids. I decided one day to try out the raw version of this recipe and I was surprised it tasted very very good! So here is the recipe for all you raw meat lovers. Something new to try. It’s so delicious you can convert your friends and family to eat this raw horse meat tapa RAW instead of cooked. It’s tastier and softer, easier to chew, easier to digest.

The horse meat: I buy my fresh raw horse meat from Malabon City wet market, just behind the Malabon City Hall. They have fresh horse meat every day every morning. Price is around 170 pesos per kilo. There are various cuts. Just get the tender cuts and remember to ask for FAT.

The vinegar: raw organic coconut “tuba” vinegar probiotic. I got mine from Candelaria, Quezon. You may not be able to find real raw organic vinegar in the supermarket, but you can try the wet markets. Or you can go to the organic markets like OPTA at 52 Esteban Abada St. Quezon City just behind Katipunan in front of Ateneo.

The garlic: fresh raw garlic. Get local garlic. We have garlic from Ilocos because my sister in law works there. Cut them fresh.

Some sea salt: This is optional for raw paleo dieters. I don’t like salt. Some people do.

Some freshly ground pepper: Get whole pepper corns. Do not buy pre-ground pepper in bottles, they may have extenders like charcoal to increase their profit margins. So grind your own! Get your own pepper grinder.

Very easy recipe:

- Cut the horse meat as you like it.
- Cut the garlic as you like it.
- Grind some pepper on the meat.
- Add salt to taste.
- Add in the vinegar

Mix and let it set for a few minutes or a few hours if you put it in the refrigerator.

Eat as much as will fill you up. Superb taste. Superb flavor.

Eat this RAW. Do not cook. RAW Horse Tapa tastes soooo much better. Guaranteed.

Good for raw meat beginners.

I hope you enjoy this recipe.

Russia Reports Over 2 Million Dead In US As ‘Mysterious” Die-Off Accelerates

By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

A most chilling report circulating in the Kremlin today prepared by the Russian Academy of Medical and Technical Science for Prime Minister Putin states that a “mysterious die-off” in the United States has claimed over 2,000,000 lives since 2008 and is “more than likely” linked to a “crossover” plant disease linked to genetically modified grains and foods.

According to these reports this mysterious, and as yet unidentified, lung disease responsible for this mass die-off began during the spring of 2008 in the US agricultural State of Iowa where (very ironically) at least 36 people attending a Lung Association event at the Governors mansion were stricken.

Important to note about Iowa is that it is one of the largest corn producing regions in the World harvesting over 2 billon bushels of this valuable grain farmed on nearly 32 million acres of its farmland,  over 99% of which are genetically modified varieties made by the US agricultural giant Monsanto and idententifeid by their trade names of Mon 863, insecticide-producing Mon 810, and Roundup® herbicide-absorbing NK 603.

Not reported to the American people about these genetically modified corn varieties made by Monsanto was the study released by the International Journal of Biological Sciences warning that they were linked to organ damage.  Monsanto quickly responded to this study, stating that the research was “based on faulty analytical methods and reasoning and do not call into question the safety findings for these products.”

Russian scientists in these reports, however, call Monsanto’s claim of their genetically modified Mon 863 corn as being safe for human or animal consumption “totally without validation”, a finding supported by the French biomolecular engineering commission, the Commission du Génie Biomoléculaire (CGB) who stated in their report, “with the present data it cannot be concluded that GM corn MON 863 is a safe product.”

Further supporting the findings of Russian scientists was Greenpeace International, who in their report titled “MON 863: A chronicle of systematic deception” warned that the campaign to unearth and evaluate data about this most dangerous of genetically modified grains demonstrates, beyond all doubt, that MON863 is unfit for consumption.

Most unfortunately for the American people though, all of these warnings have been ignored by their government masters who have allowed the mass planting of these genetically modified crops to such an extent that in the United States today fully 80% of their corn and 93% of their soybeans are of these dangerous varieties and leading one Russian scientist in these reports to warn that our World is now on the verge of experiencing an ecological disaster of “Biblical proportions”.

And according to these reports this ecological disaster is well underway in the United States and supported by American death statistics showing that of the nearly 2.5 million deaths reported by them each year the number of “sudden deaths” has increased to 40% equaling out to over 2 million “mysterious and unexplained” deaths from early 2008 to March, 2010.

Now of these “mysterious and unexplained” American deaths, these reports continue, nearly all of them are lung related and being erroneously documented as being caused by influenza and pneumonia type diseases so as not to panic these peoples, but have, instead, been caused by as an yet unidentified plant virus that has successfully jumped the species barrier to human beings.

Supporting Russian scientists in these conclusions is new research being conducted by the Didier Raoult of the University of the Mediterranean in Marseilles, France, where for the first time in human history a plant virus has been found to cause problems in people.

Russian scientists further claim in these reports that the United States mass vaccination of their population this past year for the supposed H1N1 Swine Flu epidemic was instead a “very clumsy attempt” to stop the spreading of this mysterious lung disease by injecting into these peoples a DNA “fix” to this genetically modified corn, and which by all the evidence available, they state, appears to have failed.

For those wondering how the United States government could ever allow such a monstrous outrage to be committed on their citizens one only need know that over the past 10 years Monsanto has paid over $500 million in bribing those American officials responsible for food safety while at the same time has joined US corporate giants General Electric and Exxon Mobil in not paying any taxes despite the billions in profits they have reaped.

And for those Americans believing that President Obama will protect them from these outrages they couldn’t be more mistaken, and as we can read as reported by the Huffington Post News Service in their article titled “You're Appointing Who? Please Obama, Say It's Not So!” and which, in part, says:

“The person who may be responsible for more food-related illness and death than anyone in history has just been made the US food safety czar. This is no joke.

Here's the back story.

When FDA scientists were asked to weigh in on what was to become the most radical and potentially dangerous change in our food supply -- the introduction of genetically modified (GM) foods -- secret documents now reveal that the experts were very concerned. Memo after memo described toxins, new diseases, nutritional deficiencies, and hard-to-detect allergens. They were adamant that the technology carried "serious health hazards," and required careful, long-term research, including human studies, before any genetically modified organisms (GMOs) could be safely released into the food supply.

But the biotech industry had rigged the game so that neither science nor scientists would stand in their way. They had placed their own man in charge of FDA policy and he wasn't going to be swayed by feeble arguments related to food safety. No, he was going to do what corporations had done for decades to get past these types of pesky concerns. He was going to lie.”

Even worse for these American people are those believing they will be able to change their government in the upcoming National elections to be held in the United States this coming November, but which new reports are showing that Obama is also preparing for with a special military unit called the “Consequence Management Response Force” said ready to deploy during these elections at his command from his White House fortress the Washington Post writes has now become more like “Soviet-era Moscow” then the house of the people it used to be should these Americans begin to rise up against the growing corporate-run police state surrounding them.

New reports from America are also warning that Obama’s growing police state government is further moving against its own citizens by ordering their Internet giants to turn over all emails written by every citizen in their country, an insidious move Yahoo, for one, has vowed to fight.

To the final outcome of all of these events it is not in our knowing, other than to note that in the same week that one of Obama’s Federal Courts has outlawed all Americans from celebrating their National Prayer Day, and Obama has vowed to rid the United States of all of its nuclear weapons, President Putin, on the other hand, stated that Russia’s internal and external security depends upon two things – “its traditional religions and its nuclear forces”…and leaving no doubt whatsoever that our World has, indeed, turned upside down as the US descends into tyranny and Russia moves toward freedom.

SF supervisors approve meat-free Mondays

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The San Francisco Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a meatless Monday resolution on Tuesday, sponsored by Supervisor Sophie Maxwell. The measure declares every Monday as "Vegetarian Day" and urges restaurants, grocery stores and schools to offer more plant-based options.

Maxwell is a vegetarian and she believes if residents gave up meat once a week, it would improve their health. Her resolution would not require meatless Mondays, but would encourage them.

It's part of an international campaign. Last year the city of Ghent, Belgium became the first with "official" weekly veggie days.

ABC7 talked with Carter Nguyen, behind the counter at Prather Ranch in the Ferry Building. Prather is known for high quality, certified organic beef. Carter dismissed the notion of a meat-free day, telling us he eats meat every day.

"Vegetarians aren't necessarily healthy themselves. They consume a lot of tofu, soy and corn based food products that make fake meat. That doesn't make sense to me," he said.

The Loving Hut is a vegan restaurant in Chinatown which proudly displays a "Meatless Monday" banner featuring Paul McCartney.

The former Beatle is among celebrity supporters of the concept. Yvonne Chow says going without meat helps reduce your carbon footprint, is healthy for you and humane for animals. She says "It makes you more loving".

San Francisco is the first American city to embrace meatless Monday.

This is just the diet part.

MS also has mercury pollution as a cause.  So MS is diet plus pollution removal.

Let's cure the world of multiple sclerosis.

I've always had a thing for fishing.
I've tried peaceful lake fishing.
Yesterday I tried ocean fishing:

I'm a fishing "virgin".  I don't have my own equipment.  I just enjoy what the fisherman has to rent out.

I may think of getting my own gear and getting involved in local fishing forums.

Next time I will go with the real fishermen who cast nets just for the experience.

Please share your fishing interests, links, forums, websites, supplies, suggestion.
