You can eat cooked Paleo if you're eating in the Mess hall, the only time I would think it's not possible is if you're deployed in a red zone and living off MREs, if you're not a combat MOS you should be fine.

Avoid grains at all cost, stick to potatoes, eggs, meat, fruit and nothing else, try carb cycling also to keep glycogen stores while reaping the benefits of increased epinephrine, catchelomines, etc..... on your zero carb days.

I would eat now, as you will when you deploy, since you don't wanna get that transition period when performance might be critical. Just because you have to eat cooked paleo, doesn't mean you have to eat shit, make the best choices with what you have.

"My brother-in law by marriage, Jason, is a Master Chief in the United States Navy and has been a SEAL for the last 19 years. He is 39 years old, has been with the teams for about 20 years now, and is currently deployed to Iraq on his second tour in that theater.

Jason has been an avid cross-fitter for about 3 years and eats a PaNu style lacto-paleo diet with about 10% of calories form carbohydrate."

The Vibrio vulnificus bacterium only is found in shellfish like oysters and clams when the shellfish are in warm waters above (86? degrees). What are thoughts from a raw paleo perspective about this bacterium? How to safely select oysters and clams?

A-)Get them from sea/ocean sources only and don't consume them frequently.

B-) Don't worry about it, since you eat raw Paleo, it's harmless just like AIDS and will give you superpowers if anything.

C-)Buy the oysters, prepare them raw for family/friends or people you hate, call to make sure they're alive after 24-48 hours, while you're waiting, leave the oyster/clams in the fridge.

Whoever is thinking of that vaccine is an idiot.

There are wars in almost every continent killing thousands everyday, drug wars, gangs, addictive drugs, murders, rapes, robberies, fatal vehicle accidents, diseases cause by things these parasites willingly do, killing each other over $5 bills, sex trades spreading diseases like priests spreading their love to little boys and girls, a corrupt legal system, government and food system in every country.

Not to mention militaries capable of wiping out countries, even the world, mothers/fathers murdering their babies because they feel sad and millions of other fun things they do on their own to themselves and each other every single minute of every single day that is slowly rapidly now ensuring their own self destruction.

How much damage can you actually do with a vaccine like that? An Airborne virus that shows no immediate symptoms but takes years to show while doing irreversible damage would be much better and would be much more eco-friendly than all the plastic wrappers, syringes, bio-hazard boxes, etc.... needed for the vaccine route.

Where's the suggestion box?

Maybe there is some artificial substance on the ground beef which would become inactive upon cooking? Some commercial ground beef has this. When I first tried raw beef, I just used the ground beef which I was used to having cooked. It had a chemical taste, it was very hard to eat, and it irritated my gut, gave me a headache and made me feel sick. Initially, I thought this must just normal for raw beef.. and after trying this ground beef raw a few times, I didn't try to eat any raw meat again for several months, until my parents got some reduced, fresh topside joints.

Not enough info to make an accurate diagnosis, I wouldn't mind seeing a doctor in his case, if not for the meds, then just for the diagnosis.

However, I stopped eating ground beef (raw/cooked) even though I crave it sometimes, because the retards clean the grinder with diluted bleach and their entire processing areas with other chemicals, per FDA regulations I think.

Grind just before you eat.
Buy whole chunks.

This works very well with a $30 food processor, the consistency is much better than the store ground.

Thanks for the update.  What do you think of this fast?  Will you do it again?

Well this is what I have learned in the last month for myself:

-Fasting is great for healing, I always have cuts and scrapes on me, they heal faster when I was fasting.

-Distilled water is superior to tap/spring water.

-Meat that has been heated, dehydrated from it's water (160F for 1-2 hours is my sweet spot) = superior overall well being.

-Appetite is calm and I am calm, from just 1-3lbs of meat/ day vs 5+ raw cold meat.

-Strength is not affected during a fast, but energy is (Maybe it'll be different if I eat the way I am now for some time then try again)

-I will definitely fast again, maybe up to 7 days, but I doubt it, 1-3 days is more likely.

I finished 1 week, I still had my strength, but I had no energy to use it, I didn't want to do anything.

My appetite was getting higher and higher, I ate a huge amount of meat in the 2 days after, my stomach didn't feel good.

For some reason I decided to do this:

Page 2, last 3 replies.

Right now, I'm doing 2lbs of ribeye and 1lb of chicken livers in the dehydrator, my friend wants to try some, so I'll probably end up eating 2-2.5lbs and my hunger will be fine, not to mention, I feel really good since I've started doing this.

Only ZC (cooked, dehydrated or raw) and Heavy intense exercise will always be with me, anything else so far is only experimental and expendable at any time it doesn't do me good.

General Discussion / Re: Does dehydrating meat oxidize fat?
« on: July 29, 2010, 02:24:41 pm »
160 is cooked. I think 160 internal temp is considered well done. My appetite is "calmer" (smaller anyway) on cooked food too.

160F in a Nesco Dehydrator might be very rare at 2 hours, at 1 hour it's just getting hot.

I feel better eating like this, why? I dunno, but it is a significant difference to me.

I've been dehydrating all my meat for the last week now.

I cut them into chunks half the size of a deck of cards, put them for 1-2 hours @ 160F and eat em while they're hot.

I notice my appetite is calmer, I have more energy/better mood and I sleep better.

Before I just ate them straight from the fridge/freezer.

I tried it with beef steaks, pork butt, chicken livers, cat fish, tiger shrimp, ground chicken, ground pork and leg quarters, with a dash of sea salt on each, tastes great.

Call the Airport Police/Secuirty/Legal Office of your local area and check their book/website also to double check, then do the same with the target destination to avoid any legal problems, laws can vary significantly from country/city/state.

Miles, are you fasting right now? Not a week yet, but getting there, I'll use mostly distilled water per KDs advice and some spring 4:1 ratio when buying gallons, 14-21 days is the plan, will be lifting heavy weights and other things during  ;D

KD, my friend gave me 10lbs of ribeye/sirloin  ;D I'll eat that on day 1 of feeding, probably 10lbs of pork on day 2 & 3 and then fast again.

Fasting for a day or 2, I don't feel a single difference, but at the beginning of day 3, I feel good, I like this feast/famine cycle much better than eating everyday.

And Savage, there's a huge difference between 3 day fasts and anything longer than that. Don't say I didn't warn ya, especially if you go for something as stupid as 21 days.

A 21 day fast might be stupid for you, if it shows signs of being stupid for me, I'll terminate it, until then, no stopping.

Maybe you were sick/weak before the fast, I'm not.

I suggest you read these 2 chapters about strength and exercise while fasting and then read the whole books from the start, these 2 books are great.

I did two, 3 day water fasts, I felt good, very strong and I lifted weights before I ate, I set new personal records.

I did feel "smaller" but when I ate 5lbs of Pork or so, I had the best pump I've ever had in my life and strength is still higher, I'm already doing this fast, not in the double digit days yet, but will be there  ;D

Spring Water: 1

Distilled Water: 0

Which is better, Distilled or Spring water on a 14-21 day fast with some heavy lifting and other light-moderate exercise during?

but all I can say is, I feel better with starches in my diet.

If you feel better with starches, eat them.

This is where you need to be:

Do carbs also cause a difficulty with English and/or mental retardation ? Or is it an individual thing?

This kind of misinformation should not exist on a forum like this one.
Glucose is simply the priority fuel used by the muscles for quick energy. Some tissues like the brain also prefer glucose.
It is why the body converts protein and fat into glucose on a lowcarb diet to fulfill its requirement.
So we are obviously born with an essential carbs requirement!

No, you're wrong, she's right.

The dietary requirement for carbohydrates is ZERO.

And if all you people like carbs so much, what are you doing in the Zero Carb forum? Are you lost?

Bench Flat & Inc 275lbs X 2 X 5

Squat 365lbs X 2 X 5 (full deep ATG)

Weighted Pullup/Chinup 100lbs X 2 X 5

Clean & Jerk 177lbs X 1 X 5

Good W/O

This stuff is definitely more effective than probiotics, it burns my throat after I eat it, the slimy stuff tastes ok, but the dried parts with white/black "mold"? on them tastes better than aged fish and cheese.

Pretty good W/O, only 24 hour fast before, not enough, I'm fasting till my next W/O probably 4-7 days of fasting (Water only). Last thing I'm eating 4.5lbs of pork & 1/2lb of rotten meat (beef)

Just a theory but is it possible that homicides are committed because we no longer get to fulfill the instinct of killing animals?

What type of homicides? Under what circumstances?

Some of these homicides might, some might have nothing to do with it, unless you have a specific case or even a hypothetical case, it is impossible to answer that question.

Yesterday, no internet access, after 30 hour fast:

Bench Press (Flat&Inc) 275lbs X 1-2 X5

Squat (Back only) 365lbs X 2 X 5

Weighted Chinups/Pullups 100lbs X 1 X 5

Clean & Jerkk 177lbs X 2 X 5

I'm being and more and more convinced that there's no reason to vary your routine (power/olympic lifting only) there are only X amount of exercises that work best and as long as remain constant you will get stronger and this will translate into improved performance in other sports/movements too.

but in retrospect i regret ALL OF IT.  i wish i had never taken drugs and i wish i had never trained hardcore as i did.  i wish i always trained the way i do now - which is mostly just swim and bike, and do some occasional light lifting.  but mistakes in life are inevitable.

Why do you say that? Assuming one doesn't take any drugs or eat SAD.
