General Discussion / hyper thyroid?
« on: March 16, 2009, 02:05:29 pm »
i havent gotten any lab work done yet but am beginning to suspect i may have some thyroid  issues, specifically hyper thyroid.
any tip of alleviating this? i seen people recommending eating thyroid but do quite get how eating a gland would help with ones own gland... doesnt seem to add up, though im open to an explanation.
thanks!

General Discussion / sick as a dog...
« on: October 15, 2008, 11:47:52 pm »
so ive had a hell of a few days, im pretty sick and really uncomfortable.i went to the doctor and they told me i have some sort of bacterial infection in my intestines -[
fortunately she didnt prescribe antibiotics(it seems like indiscriminatly killing good bacteria along with bad isnt such a hot idea)
i dont know how it happened! i get my meat from a good source (local, grassfed, etc.) and it always comes frozen anyway.
im not willing at this point to give up my diet but this is really lame.
anyone have experience with this? how do you keep that bacterial balance? anything i can do to expedite my recovery?
this is nooooo fun....

General Discussion / looking for tips/ what are YOU eating....
« on: October 05, 2008, 02:51:11 pm »
well ive gotten to the point where im completely raw now for a few months and most recently have been consuming pretty much only animal fats (mostly in the form of grassfed liver, ground beef, marrow, duck eggs and some pork back fat) and raw dairy(which i think im about ready to ween off of) im feeling better than i have in years but in the paleo spirit i feel like i should be getting more fruit and veggies...
any tips on what and how much is working for any of you who partake? ive heard to go for wild growing and not excessively sweet but this seems a bit vague.
any personal experience would be greatly appreciated!

i cant help but be fasinated but dont want to jump the gun...
any input would be great.

Welcoming Committee / so glad to find this...
« on: August 20, 2008, 08:57:31 am »
hi everyone, im new to this but am very excited to get into it and have found the results to be immediate and encouraging...
im currently probably about 50/50 raw fruit and vegtables / raw animal.
this seems like a great resource and would love any tips for a beginner.
my biggest issue right now is trying to figure out organ meats that i will find more palitable...sadly im finding my gag reflex standing between me and my food at times.
any preperation tips that might help? or organs that might be a bit easier till im better acclimated?
thanks! great to be here.
