General Discussion / Re: Iron overload on raw meat diet
« on: February 19, 2020, 06:19:38 am »
Well, many thanks norawnofun, now I have a lot to study.
i did my blood tests today and I asked the nurse to take a bit more blood then needed she was very gentle and to my surprise she drawed the double amount of blood, so I released 50 ml today and I feel a lot better already. it is not as much as the  500 Inger could give but it is a start. i recognised that the blood was thick and dark red at the beginning and lighter at the end of the donation. It is like the aderlass donation from the holly Hildegard von Bingen, it is still practiced here in in germany and i m considering doing it. It is a bit pricy though. There they let the blood flow out until it turns light in color . Normaly they take between 50 and 150ml
Friday I m getting my test results and I will get the ip6 tomorrow
I m courious

Hi Inger,

thats interresting, me as well I suspect having an Iron overload now. I went carnivore for a while, mostly galloway meat, no veggies any more and not a lot of fat, supplementing with Vitamin C with increases iron absorbtion, and started feeling more and more sick. Tomorrow i m going to the doktor for bloodtests. I feel a bit at a lost in what to eat now, so I eat very littel animal protein but lots of fibrous vegetables, nuts and seeds but I m very tired now. I found out about the IP6 as well, already ordered it. How much are you going to take?

Primal Diet / Re: looking for raw grass fed beef in South of France
« on: June 20, 2018, 12:35:50 am »
I live in the south of France and have an awesome source of grass fed grass finished beef.
The Farm de Mr Hinard, he is an idealist, one of the very few here in France, he has a real passion for his work, I often talk with him on the phone and I get always a special parcel with everything I want like fatty meat and pure fat and organs and  marrow bones and it is delicious and  very rich. Since i found him I have no  problem with eating beef any more, I thrive on it now, before it was very difficult, with biomeat and even wild boar and new zealand meat, everything gave me inflammation and i got skin issues like eczema and brown spots. I think he ships. everywhere in France with chronopost, the parcel is cooled till it arrives, everything is vacuum sealed,  it is well organized, the meat is not even more expensive than in the supermarket. He cultivates rustic cows, they grow slowly and are outside all there life and they have  loads of space.

Thats interesting, Irondog,
For 5 weeks now I m eating mostly meat, organ meats, fish and huge quantities of beef fat, sometimes eggs, sometimes coconut creme and avocados, some vegetables and vegetable juices
My eyes are already so much better, can read everything again, even the smallest letters, sometimes it is not 100 percent sharp jet but I m very happy and feel relieved, was not ready to live with glasses 8).I think going low with all the carbs was crucial for the healing. And then taking beef fat as my main energy source because this is the fat I digest best and it keeps inflamation down  in my body.I can eat so much of i without any problem, with other fats I get nauseous very easy. (I ate more than 400 g of pure beef fat today and feel very good with it.} I m still  a bit high with my protein, will reduce it as soon as I have gained enough weight.
Why do you think I should cut out coconut and Avocado,? with Avocado I feel that it is not good for me if I eat it often,
Yes, vegetable juices might be to high in sugar, I think green juices are better and then just a little bit because they have a lot of antinutritients

Yes Apani, I already reduced my time on the computer and dont wear sunglasses outside any more :)
Tyler, I think you a right a wateriest would help but I can not do it right now because my weight is to low, I reduced my eating window recently and I already feel better
2 weeks ago I was just juicing for a day and quite low in fat, the next day I could read even the smallest letters and my eyes where clear and wight, I did not continued thought because of my low body weight and the constant high blood sugar with all the liquid vegetables -\
Do somebody of you recognised a correlation between high fat or animal protein and eyesight?

Hi all,

I have been on and of raw paleo the last years, experimented a lot with raw and cooked plant foods and recognised my eyesight becoming significantly weaker, before I was always proud of my clear and sharp eyes.
My vision is a little blurry and I can not read the small letters any more -[
I think it might be related to blood sugar problems and or diary consumption even if I dont eat a lot of dairy, just some raw butter occasionally.
I m 50 years now and not at all ready to wearing glasses.
What are your experiences with your eyesight related to diet and lifestyle, how can I make  my eyes fully healthy again?
Right now I eat  mostly beef fat, meat and organs, fish, some avocado, coconut, non starchy vegetables raw and cooked, ACV, some fermented vegetables sometimes, salt and herbs

Yes, darionrpl, you are right, I probably do to much yoga and it is very strenghous for me. It was my rescue when I found the centre in feb. and it gave my life a whole new positive focus. I will do less, already I don't go there in the evening any more because it totally upsets my rhythm and the late eating after it gives  me nightmares and bellyache. I should do more weight training.
It seems that you ate a lot of protein in your weight gaining phases. How often did you eat and how much. If you eat your protein more than 3 times a day that sounds like overdoing it, do you think it is good to live on so much animal protein.
I thought about eating a protein fat mix tree times a day and between meals butter and coconut butter every hour, that should work.  :)

I m doing yoga every day in a yoga centre here. Lots of different styles, some are very physic, and some hours of Bikram hot yoga, this is very taxing because of the heat. I m going down with exercising as I feel it takes to much energy, energy I don't have at the moment.
I will try your pate. I can not find ripe tomatoes at the moment here, will have to do it without, perhaps with onions and mushrooms, that could be tasty. Why so you use so much eggs? I never felt good eating a lot of eggs, and I don't digest the egg white well. I do best with beef fat and raw butter but I will try it with eggs. Did you gain weight with this formula?
My husband had a lot of surgery, radiation, chemo, he did the whole program, didn t help

Thanks a lot daiorpl for your response. yes, its my internal body temp, I take it oraly,
Strange enough but exercises seems to lower my internal temperature and eating as well. I think it is because I m very exhausted and even the food in my stomach takes energy to digest, exercising even more.
The fat is from grassfed beef but I think you are right, it digest better when I eat it with meat.
Cooked foods are not optimal, I feel it as well. At the moment I do eat cooked starches with every meal just to gain back a bit of weight. It is the only thing that works fast for me. On rawpaleo I need ages to gain a bit and it includes a lot of suffering and nausea and stuff.
My husband died of colon cancer when he was 42, he ate cooked , mostly vegan , starch based, did not liked exercises, worked on the computer all day.

Yes YS I m going to make some blood tests soon. But first I trie to fix it myself. I started meditating and using breathing technics and found out that I can rise my body temp within minutes on about 0.5 degrees Celsius without a problem, that I m warmer after a good night sleep, that when I m relaxed I m warmer, that I raise my temperature by resting and not by activity, half an hour cosy with a book and blanket raises my temperature where as after sport my temp goes down. Deep breathing is very important, visualising my body with a sun in the centre or fire or so also is very pleasant and warms me up. I find it very interesting that my nutrition seems to be not so important, more my thoughts, lifestyle, state of being. I think It is time to change my life. The last years I lived more and more a shadow life with my husband slowly and sadly dying and now I m on my own in a foreign country with my daughter feeling somehow still shock frozen and  so scared.

Just looked into it, Tyler. This is exiting. I m going to recherche it. I will work on being able to transform my body temperature through my will. I don't like it to have to solve this situation with food. All the things I tried like eating big amounts all day and night and cooking everything out of my food and even lots of starches but nothing worked jet.

Hi,

I live in the south of France and it is still pretty warm and almost always suny. But I feel so cold. I took my temperature and it was quite low 35,5 C or 96 F . Then I started taking my temperature all day, after raising, meditating, eating, sport, showering etc. After a green juice it was like 34,4 :P after clams with avocado 35 C . I tried all kinds of things, upted my calories like crazy with loads of beef fat. It raised my temperature but made me so sick I lost one Kg in one night and feel even colder than before. I tried cooking my fish and meat and made fish stock to warm me up. I recognised that the temperature goes up for a short time but goes down later, no difference with the raw food so I m going to stick with mostly raw. I tried miso soupe and it totally raises my themprature like 1,1/2 degrees in 2 minutes? If I do a mudra meditation with fire breathing I get my temperature up as well. Being in my warm bed increases my temperature as well. If I m active, doing sports temperature goes down. After all I red its a sigh of hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. I already take tyrosine pregnenonelon. Do anybody has similar experiences or ideas what to do. I would like so much to have a toasty warm body.

I m just back from the states now. I lost 2 kg and I m happy to be back. Till now found no worms in my stool. My digestion was very bad the first traveling days but became better when I started taking kombucha and gut shots from the health food shop. To be sure I m going to make a stool test the next days, I intended to do it anyways

I hope you are right, CK, still feel very squeezy -v. yesterday evening I ate some raw garlic with ginger and horseradish to get rid of the little worms, I had nothing else. Today I bought oil of oregano. Also because I developed a herpes blister on my lip after the long overseas flight and after eating all day in restaurants and on the plane and living in air conditioned hotel rooms . I try to stay in the paleo context while eating out but all this cooked foods don't agree with me. This evening I will arrive in Savannah and I hope things are going to calm down. This whole america experience is very interesting, I should open a new thread about it. I did not know how completely different your country is.
Thanks for the link, GS, I will see if I can order it when I come back.
Honestly, staying healthy while traveling seems more of a chalenge then I thought :P

Hi,

I m in Philadelphia now, today I bought a lot of fish roe in a grand market hall here. I ate some raw for lunch with a salad and some ACV. This evening I wanted to eat more of it and when I opened the box I saw something moving . I looked at it, it was a worm perhaps 1 cm long. So I guess the whole fish row was full of them and I ate some for lunch today. Now I feel very sick -v. Don't know what to do right now, because I m not at home I have no essential oils like oregano oil here or parasit cleansers. I could buy them perhaps tomorrow. Is there anything I can do, are this little worms dangerous anyways and are they going to stay alive in my tummy??? -[

For me as well, Tyler, Avocados have been a staple during my raw vegan years. Now I m not sooo exited about them any more. Always when I get back to my old habits, eating more and more vegetables, fish and plant fats, I mean coconut and avocado, I lean out and physicaly I m back to me as a raw vegan, looking like a typical raw fodist, very thin with my veins visible and I look weak. If I go back to more meat and take meat fat as my first fat source I look healthier and plumper even with  the same weight and I feel calmer, more stable.  Plant fats in a low carb or Keto context  never seems to work for my body  -[

Sometimes I can get new zealand lamb here as well, it is very inexpensive then but there is not a lot of fat on it. Worse case is to eat carry gold butter I think or avocado. I m not sure about avocado though, because of the high amounts of omega 6 if you eat a lot it might cause inflammation as well

thats an interesting website, tanks Tyler. If I find Irish beef in the supermarket, would  it be most likely grass fed also?

Thank a thousand times for your advice evehard, sabertouth and Thler. I checked all the links and options and I m surprised how much gras fed beef and bison and lamb sources are in the USA. Seems to be the paleoparadise. Here in France it is very difficult to find 100 % grass fed animals, it was very difficult to find a reliable source. I think you are right, Evenhard, just for a couple of days whole foods will be good enough. There is a big wholefoodstore just 10 min from the hotel. I saw that there are even some restaurants with grass fed burgers, thats amazing, perhaps I will try them.Yes Tyler, I think I will mostly stick to wild clams and fish and oysters as you suggested and for the fat I hope to find marrow bones or very fatty meat at whole foods.
What about pastured eggs in america, are they really not grain fed?
I will be one day in London before going to america. Is there a place where they sell grass fed beef in London?

In a couple of days I m going to fly to america, I have never traveled that far so I m very  exited and also a bit nervous. I will be in Philadelphia for 2 days and in Savannah, Georgia for 7 Days. I don't know what to expect food wise there. Could anybody give me some advice where I can buy my rawpaleo food -d. I know there is this whole food grocery chain everywhere in the US. Can I buy grass fed beef there or in other shops and organ meats and marrow and fat. Good fat is most important for me. Or is there a farmers market where I can buy good meat and fat. And is there a place where I can buy coconuts? And are there restaurants where I can eat rawpaleo foods? If there are any paleo people in the savannah area I would love to meet them.

After having taken antibiotics in the winter my digestion is still very week and I do not assimilate so much of the food that I m eating I started to take probiotics and I eat Sauerkraut and ACV and already my digestion and skin is a lot better . I wanted to try Em 1 now, anybody has experiences with it. Wanted to take it internally and also as a starter to ferment vegetables. And what about Kombucha, would that be a good Idea. What else could I do to better my microbiom on raw paleo very high fat?
