Freelee and DR are very good at creating YouTube views and getting ad revenue, neither of which has much to do with knowing or teaching the truth about nutrition. And they know that, and are OK with that. But they are not welcome here again.

I've often wondered that myself. He's an interesting case, as he has several decent selling books out and gets primo speaker fees. It wouldn't surprise me if more than half his annual income is from off-farm ventures like writing and speaking.

I would guess 80-90% is non-farm. But that's not a niche every farmer can get into. Boutique food products are the answer for the short term. Heirloom this and permaculture that and such.

Factory farms are the problem, not meat production. The Masai have been sustainably herding for thousands of years, as have plenty of tribes. It's quite doable.

But that's all irrelevant anyway. We'll all be eating vat-grown meat in 15 years, and it will be healthier and cheaper than anything that could be produced naturally.

And what is pumpkin made of? I thought it was primarily carbs! . Like a little dilutted potato. Ior it is more like a cucumber?

When i try to put on weight,i always end up suffering cause of high blood sugar and related problems to that. So after some days of fattening.. I loose all that weight in a couple of days.

If i compare burning fat to burning sugar. I don't want to burn sugar anymore. But how to put on weight without sugar/starches?

Avocado and goat milk are pretty good for that. You should supplement with magnesium if you use goat milk.

I'm suspicious of the oxylent and the green juice powder.

Sabertooth might have some thoughts. He enjoys raw blood.

Good to have another former raw vegan here. I would suggest cutting back on the plants and trying some fish and meat. Clearly the plants have not healed all your issues.

Good points, Saber, although the traditional cure was the desert, not the coast.

It's usually called ceviche, and only lemon and lime are acidic enough to make it work right. You generally only need to marinate for a few hours.

I don't think it's even possible to make a reasonable living at farming anymore, unless you inherit a huge acreage and are willing to grow a subsidized commodity crop. I work in the agricultural sector as a consultant, and 90%+ of the farmers I know who make a living do so largely by having second or even third jobs off-farm to augment their meager farm incomes. Having seen so many negative balance sheets, I marvel at why anyone would want to go into farming.

We have a little hippie town near here full of burnouts from the D.C. rat race. They move to Floyd thinking they can start a little organic farm and live off the land, maybe make a little money....and as you already know, they fail hard, every one of them. Oh well. Their failures help keep the local organic farming supply guy in business. LOL

Fermented foods and high meat sometimes help. Low-carb often helps. Vitamin D definitely helps. What does your daily diet look like?

Have you tried AV's "pumpkin pie" recipe? It's made out of persimmons, dates, honey, walnuts, butter and cream.

Now that is a sleepless night, right there. I get terrible cramps and gas if I mix persimmons with anything but dates, bananas, or honey.

The protease enzyme papain in papaya makes it a digestive aid, whereas persimmons are known for Diospyrobezoars.

I love persimmons. That's very backstabby of them, causing bowel obstructions and whatnot.

Probably also sticks to intestines preventing nutrient absorption.

The whole point of Teflon is that it's non-stick, so no.

The Gokhale Method. It's basically paleo movement. I use it many times daily. Great for protecting your joints, stabilizing your mood, helping you lift heavy objects without hurting yourself, improving stamina, etc..

Not one mention of Aajonus, GCB, or any other raw foodist of any note in her bio. Especially funny since she clearly stole many of her ideas from Aajonus. LOL

She will never be well-known, I am guessing. You have to do more than steal someone's ideas and live in California to gain notoriety in the raw food world these days. Back in the 90s, things were easier for guys like David Wolfe, who wholesale plagiarized A.T. Hovhanessian and lived in Southern Cali.

In large-scale studies, the various hormonal problems with low-carb diets are often linked to low-carb/low-calorie diets. That shows up a lot in the Atkins weight-loss groups, where eager dieters try to race each other by losing a zillion pounds in record time. There are various cycling strategies to avoid hormonal problems from caloric restriction during ketosis, such as Dave Asprey's "refeeding" concept, which is used in his Bulletproof Diet, but that approach is a variation of low-carb, and it doesn't purport to be a ketogenic diet, although some people use it that way.

Yuri wasn't restricting calories. He was very active, and should probably have been eating more often, but any diet that needs this many caveats already should be approached carefully. Sure, it's been a lifesaver for you, Lex, and Saber, but it was a clusterfuck for Geoff and Yuri.

Yuri had severe problems on low-carb. It can be very taxing on the adrenals, depending on the person.
