I hear a lot about calorie restriction but how do people consider it in the context of food type? 100 calories of spinach is not the same as 100 calories of a candy bar...

Sorry to hear about your situation and a great list of ideas. It's really unfortunate that leaky gut is not well recognized as a medical condition by many traditional doctors. I had some intestinal issues a while back and one thing that was quite beneficial was drinking bone broth regularly. There are some articles saying that gut inflammation can be improved with regular bone broth use:

At first, I started buying bones and making it at home. It took too long (24+ hours of roasting) so I tried some of the store bone broth brands which ended up being quite delicious and helped improve my symptoms.

Ankle cracking is supposedly caused by the tendons moving around in relation to your bones. The cracking is related to the tendon sliding into different places. I started warming up my ankles by rotating them in both directions at the beginning of the day and it seems to have reduced some of my cracking noises

Perhaps you are dehydrated? I've upped my water intake dramatically in 2018 and have had much cleaner urine and feel better overall

How much water have you been drinking?  Have to keep the system flowing

Cooking bone broth at home is a real pain if you want to do it right. The bones should ideally be roasted for longer than 24 hours and, unless you have a fire pit outside, there really isn't an easy way to do it inside. Also, you want to get high-quality, organic bones which can start adding up from a cost perspective. The good thing is that there are a number of brands that have come to market because of the growing interest in bone broth as a nutritional supplement. As someone who has tried it the old-fashioned way, do yourself a favor and try one of the commercial bone broths out there.

For me, raw beef from a good place goes down easy and never causes any problems. Not always true for cooked meat.

Why take the risk when you can get ones with a normal color?  :)

I read somewhere that Eastern spiritual types teach that we should stare at ourselves in the mirror for 5-10 minutes per day while standing with good posture.

IMO, good place to collect your thoughts / meditate or to increase the cycling of water through your body.

Have you taken probiotics? Your gut flora might be out of balance.

I love jumping into a cold shower after a hard workout. I got interested after reading some studies:

Am J Physiol Regul Integr Comp Physiol. 2014 Oct 15;307(8):R998-R1008.
J Strength Cond Res. 2014 Aug;28(8):2353-8.

Muscle recovery with cold water is going to go mainstream at some point and don't think it causes any harm.
