Health / Re: Intestine issues in the morning
« on: September 24, 2021, 07:48:40 pm »
small update. I think i forgot to mention that i drink milkshakes with lemon juice every day. One day I took a sip and my stomach started making the sounds right away. So i have stopped drinking lemon juice for about 2 weeks and it seems to help a lot. I have way less cramps in the morning and also less noises. I think i will give my body some more weeks to adjust again to living with lemon juice. Maybe too much acid intake.

I think Aajonus mentioned that lemon juice incites bacteria, although the 'old wives tale' is that it is anti-bacterial. When looking on youtube about the strange noises i found many references to SIBO. So maybe Aajonus was right and i had a bit too much going on due to the lemon juice.. who knows.

I did try to switch from butter to pigsfat, but the fat only kept for 2-3 days before fungi become an issue. I will still eat some every now and then, but i do not want to throw away pigs fat every week due to fungi. I do eat it with fungi, but when it turn completely blue/green on the outside im a bit more cautious with it.

I'm in the same boat and doing many things to get there.

On the one hand i do what Tonyvee says, i save as much money as possible and invest it. Just 3 minutes per month to put it in some index ETFs, only passive investing.

On the other hand im also working on 'starting my own business'. This year May i went from 5 days a week to 4 days a week at my slave job to free up some time to things about what to do with my live in general. One day in the week does not sound like a lot of extra time, but i have found that you can actually do A LOT in a day, especially when you do things that you like/love to do.
I have used that time to finish my B&B, i have a pretty big garage which had no real purpose. So i remodelled it to a room with a bathroom. Since august i have started renting it out, and had already 40 nights booked, so it is doing very well. I'm also using my day off to produce, in this case in the garden. I'm turning my lawn into vegetable garden and working on increasing the fertility. I haul horsesh*t into it (for free) and hope to grow some more food next year. I'm also thinking about maybe making natural hard soaps and selling them. We spent quite some time looking for them and locally there seems to be nobody making it. These are some of the small things i doing now, and i will see where it goes.

Basically my 'philosophy' here is to be able to do as much things as possible myself. I see it as my hobby to do everything for as little money as possible. When you do this, you will learn many new skills and all these skills will have added value imo. Also you will save a lot of money (i think), but it will be small amounts that are difficult to track. For instance, i spent 14 euros to buy some buttons and elastic bands to fix my garden lounge set pillow casings, instead of buying new. The same applies to sewing on a button on your pants, or fixing a whole in your shirt instead of buying new ones. Closing a hole in your biketire, changing your own car oil, instead of hiring a plumber try to unclog your own sink, instead of buying a (very expensive) big garden planter buy some wood and screws and make your own. Buying finished products is for chumps, only buy raw materials ;-). When trying all these new things you will also notice what you really like to do, and that might be something that you could use to start a business. After all, if you like doing something, you will eventually be good at it. And i think you are doing REAL things, everyday things, things that will always be needed. You will automatically be NOT working on trendy/nonsense things that will blow over in a couple months. If you like doing one of these things, you will have a possible stable market. People will also need to eat, need somebody to fix there car/house etc. People do not always need trendy/nonsense. The other route would be to find a whole in the market and fill it, but i think there is a very big chance that you will end up doing something you do not like and/or doing trendy stuff.

My wife is Spanish, and likes language. Since we live in the Netherlands she has an easy market. She started her own Spanish teaching business ~3 years ago, because she couldn't find any job at the time. It really took at least 1 year to get the ball rolling. But we really notice that when you have made a nice name for yourself people will find you. When she started she had to look for students and did a lot of promotion, but now people are finding her. She is not making a full time living on our own yet, but she will get there i think.

So i would say that you have to start DOING. I personally, and my wife also, tend to spend to much time thinking about everything. But then you end up doing nothing and also learning nothing. The real learning start when you DO things. Do not think you can just jump from employment into your own business, it has to grow slowly. Which is nice, since then you can have the 'safety' of your employment and work on your business in your spare time.

I also see/read a lot that people that are self-sufficient might not have 1 business, but many small business. So i try to focus on making/saving money everywhere i can and maybe after doing that for some years i will make a full salary.

I got pretty inspired by mr moneymoustache. He has a blog where he discusses FI and ways to get there. He has a lot of good ideas there.

I really like discussing/thinking about these things. So if you want to discuss more specific topics, let me know :-)

The bottle is not completely full. There are maybe 5cm empty before the balloon starts. So maybe it needs more time to also fill up this space.
Does it have to be stored in the dark? I have it now in our pantry, which is open, but dark-ish. Maybe i will not get to 68F in there. Maybe relocating to a warmer place might help, is there a minimum temperature required for things to get going? Or will it just take longer at lower temperatures?

It is raw unheated honey indeed, with (reverse osmosis) filtered tap water :-)

How long does it usually take before the balloon becomes inflated? I made my batch on 09-09, now there is a sediment growing on the bottom of the bottle, but there is no gas forming yet. That is normal? Do i need more patience?  ;)

It took me a long time (and i think im still not really used to it) to figure out portion size when eating raw. My plate sometimes looks very empty, but still my body tells me im done with food. Since raw meat is so easy on the body i do not check in with my stomach usually. Because my stomach will always feel 'empty'. When im really done with eating is when i do not feel like eating anymore. The food really start to loose flavor in my experience and eating starts to feel like something im doing against my will. I also never feel the typical SAD hunger anymore. In my case 'hunger' feels more like becoming slow in the brain and sleepy/weak in the body. I personally many times do not feel like eating at all, I still do it because im trying to gain some weight/fat. But im not sure whether it is really smart to go against what my body tells me.

Kitkat bar, haha, i used to love those. Haven't tried them in probably 2 years. I doubt they will still be as tasty as they once were. Never have any craving for any of that stuff anymore.

The Vax situation is f*cked. I work in the Netherlands for a big tech company, so i think it will be a matter of time before they also start with mandatory Vax. I have saved up a lot of money over my last 5 years of working so i have some buffer. My work is very relaxed and i get by with doing very little and getting payed well, although i do not like the job at all. I think i will stay for now, but i will eventually have to make a switch to a more meaningful job, with or without the forcing of the vax. Is your boss already harassing you about the Vax? All the media is fearmongering, to ruin your life basically. And your worrying might at the moment not be needed, worrying about the future is even more pointless, who knows what will happen maybe your boss/company will not agree with Biden and also not mandate anything. It would be better to spend your energy in this moment to constructively think about your options. I'm for instance, already doing as much homesteading as possible (i would like to buy some more land one day). Learning the skills and technics for growing food, learning how to sew, preserve food etc etc. These things keep me busy, i learn stuff and im not spending time engaging in the fear mongering of the media. If you know which changes you want to make in your live anyway, start with them now :-). For you, maybe you can have a look at where the conditions seem better in the US? I hear there are quite some states that do not go along as hard as some other states. Maybe it is time to move?

I think the vax will at best not do you any harm, but i really doubt it. I cannot be good for your health. Taking any kind of pill is not good for you health i would say. It might help with some symptoms, but your health will always deteriorate slowly due to not fixing the cause of the symptoms and slow poisoning due to chemicals. I would take my changes with 'health benefits' and not worry about that. Unfortunately in the Netherlands it is mandatory to have health insurance. So i 'have' to throw away 80 euros (that is the cheapest i can find, but of course it gets higher every year) per month on it.

Interesting to hear about your vintage book collection. I'm looking for old books (like pre 1950) on diagnosing health problems with as little tools as possible. So basically looking at a person and maybe touching/feeling some areas to get information on ones health. Preferably with many pictures. Do you have any recommendations?

I have read a number of 'older' books (1920-1950), and if i compare these with new books i must say i like the old ones a lot better. It seems that people back then were a lot less biased and more open, and more in contact with nature. Probably because all the pharma pills were not available yet, and there was no other options then to use nature (like that is a bad thing). I also prefer the more 'no-nonsense' way of talking that they had back then. Now everything has to be politically correct, which makes everything very confusing.

Hi and welcome,

Sorry to hear about your childhood. It sounds like you have some trauma from this, and this might indeed result in stress, which results in trouble in general and maybe for you specific eating issues. My wife used to be, and sometimes still is, very stressed up and to a point where she really vomited every food she eat. Not everyday, but on the days she was very stressed, in a period of about a year where her health was very bad. She tried all sorts of food but everything came out, her body did not want anything.

I think it is good that you are educating yourself, it sounds to me that you get stress when you think about doctors. But the issue that most people have is that they think going to the doctor (in the normal medical system) is the only way. Educating yourself and experimenting will give you maybe more confidence to take charge of your health. this might result in less stress, because you rely on doctors less.

I do agree with Dingeman: in my experience the real healing only starts when eating as much raw (meat) food as possible. So i would look firstly for meat that you can eat raw, whatever it is, to start feeding your body with building material. You can think of it as taking pills, nobody likes taking pills, and they taste like shit. But you do it to get better, you could try to look at eating raw meat the same way. Provided that your body does not give you extreme discomfort when eating it. The more nutrients and building blocks you put in your body, the better you feel, and the less you will feel like drinking coke and eating doughnuts. It will be a slow process, and you will need to have faith that you are doing the right thing for your body. Even when maybe sometimes it does not feel like the right thing because of detox (sickness).

I eat beefliver at the moment only when it is high. I get mine fresh, but eating it fresh does not really do much for me. I do not really like the taste, but i think that is due to the quality. These cows are taking proper care of on a smallish farm, and live a pretty natural live. But not 100% grassfed and living outside at all times.

I also buy (via the post, so frozen) beefliver 100% grassfed, always outdoors, no hormones/injections/anything. It is from Scottish highlander cows, with all the hairs i guess they do not mind the cold Dutch winter weather. That liver however tastes like dark chocolate, amazing. So i have learned to never 'swear off' any food based on trying it once from one source. There really can be a world of difference. I enjoy trying food from as many different places and pick out the best. The modern hunter haha

Hi guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. I was also thinking of quitting dairy for a bit, eventhough i really enjoy drinking milk/kefir/butter. Hopefully i can get a constant supply of fresh pigsfat to replace the butter with, will discus this tomorrow with the local farmer. I do use milk as hydration, especially needed when i do sports or work outside... so i will have to see how to stay hydrated.

The intestinal noises also sometimes appear in the evening, and they do not bother me in those cases. It is only in the morning when i feel something is off. If it would be only noises, i wouldnt mind to much, although i do feel that normal/healthy digestion would be soundless.

@Sabertooth, you do not eat any dairy anymore now? It always gives/gave you issues?

@Odal, i do eat high meat indeed. I should try to do this more regularly. Due to the smell i eat it outside and due to the crappy weather in the Netherlands, i automatically eat it sporadically...

Health / Intestine issues in the morning
« on: August 30, 2021, 10:27:41 pm »
Hello all,

Lately (at least 1-2 months as i can remember) i have been having some strange issues in the morning. There is a lot of noise coming from intestines/abdomen area. A bit like frogs sounds, like 'hunger' sounds, as well as a noise that sounds like some liquid is being excreted. The latter seems to come from the left side of my abdomen. In the morning it also always feels like i have/want to go number 2, but usually either some small stuff comes out or nothing. Every now and then there is some very light cramping that goes away either with or without pooping. Everything that comes out looks normal, and there is no pain or anything. No matter what i do or what happens on the toiler in the morning, after some hours I always feel perfectly fine and have no discomfort during or after eating. I have the idea that during my sleep my body is maybe getting rid of some things via the intestines, but it is having some trouble getting it out all the way.

I eat 2 times a day, at lunch (12:00-13:00) and at dinner(18:00-20:00), never feel like eating breakfast. I eat mostly raw meat, raw dairy and raw eggs. Sometimes a pickle or some olives and a piece of fruit. I have been doing this for about 1 year. Before 1,5 years of cooked with the same ingredients. My food intake is pretty constant, so now im trying to listen to my body a bit more and change some things. For instance, im eating less red meat, more pork/chicken/fish. And im moving away from a lot of butter for fat and trying to get some good lard. I have pure beef fat, although i like the taste i never really feel like eating it.

It seems like there is some indigestion/constipation going on. I also have bad breath, which seems to indicate digestion issues as well. I read a lot that constipation is because of to little fat, but i really wouldnt know how much is enough.Does anybody have any ideas on what to try? It has been pretty recent, so maybe something changed in my body although i do not think i had any big detox events or something. Have not really been sick for a long time.

Thanks in advance! :)

I do see many issues along the way for having kids (i don't have any yet). Indeed there is 'forced' brainwashing (like you, Smokeyquartz, experienced in school with the video you mentioned. That sounds horrible), bullying (happened to me and my wife when we were young, and when you work through this, you come out better on the other end), etc etc. But i take this as a challenge and will face it head on. I do not want my children brainwashed and im thinking about moving to a different country+lifestyle to facilitate this. But in the end, your children will grow up and make their own choice and will have to find their way. I'm (very) happy to be alive, even more since i started eating raw meat. And i would wish this upon other humans as well, so being against having children seems to make me a hypocrite in a way.

I also do not believe that having children is a punishment for women, i think this only applies to the unhealthy (which is the average person now-a-days). My mother has 5 kids, and see always got annoyed when seeing people in movies scream their lungs out while giving birth. She found it totally ridiculous and dramatic. I think this is also part of the brainwashing of the masses to not make any babies. Scaring people into not doing it. And you also hear many young parents suffer with their babies and all the issues, but it is no surprise to me when you have a look at the environment (inside and out) these babies grow up. I'm generally more surprised that people are not sicker than they already are.

@political atheist: I'm a bid confused by your stand against having children. You seem to be very much against governments (it seems), but still you agree with them on not having children? Or do you not think that their is a big agenda from governments against having children?

Welcome,

A homesteader you say? What do you grow? Im getting started on this as well in my (for homesteading purposes) tiny garden. After realising that food is basically the most important thing (seems silly to say that it took me 30+years to realise this haha), i thought why not start spending my time on this instead of on useless computer technology stuff (which is my money making job at the moment). Also thinking of going back to nature with more land to raise all i need for me and those joining me. Anyways, would love to hear about what it is like to be a homesteader and raise your own food. All i have now is books and youtube channels(mostly watch Talasbuan, also living in Sweden. Their channel seems very genuine and down to earth)  to watch.

Health / Re: Detox symptoms on the RPD? Or bad virus?
« on: August 05, 2021, 04:12:39 pm »
I believe Aajonus mentioned that when you detox from the brain/head, it (also) goes out via the mouth. Toxins are dumped in the mouth, you swallow them and they end up in the toilet eventually. Do you notice any odd/metallic flavors in your mouth? Or dry mouth (possibly indicating a lot of fat used for detox). When i started eating raw meat, i had a period of some months were i had a lot of dry mouth and odd/metallic flavors. These flavours appeared at random it seemed. Of course when eating the flavor disappeared due to the food. I took Aajonus advice and increased fat intake and drink his lubrication formula (i still drink one of these every day on average). This helped very well with the dry mouth. I don't remember the last time having these flavors in my mouth, so must be some time ago. This might indicate that you are indeed detoxing from your brain.

I do not have a lot of experience with different kinds of headaches, as a almost never have any.

That is why my and my wife make almost all of our cleaning products, soaps, shampoos, deodorants etc ourselves. Takes some time to find nice recipes and learn how to do it, but in the end it is as easy as going to the store and buying some poisonous ones.

2nd hand everything is cheaper, and usually all the shit is already outgassed in somebody elses house ;-)

I just saw that when you are a 'add bot' you get censored here! So watch out, and keep acting human :-P

I havent heard anything about it being popular to dislike British people. In the Netherlands everybody agrees that the French are horrible, but still we all go bring our money to them during summer holiday... so yeah....

I don't think there is much to do about it, except for ignoring all platforms that do it. You say it would be educational for everyone on the forum to read the exchange, and you say that there was no reason to remove what was posted. Usually stuff that gets deleted is at least somewhat educational, so there you have the reason for deleting your posts ;-). So maybe you should be  proud that you got censored!

Somebody on this forum has a signature that says something about people not being able to handle it when somebody say 'the truth' and it cause people to do all sort of strange things. My own experience (both within myself and of others in my surroundings) has led me to believe that this is very accurate. Everybody want to stay in their little bubble, and some people have god-like admin power to enforce their bubble on other people of the forum.

Hey Mark,

Whereabouts in the Netherlands? My cousin is getting into raw meat and he lives near Den Bosch.

I also life near Den Bosch, 10km to the south. If he is interested we can meet up, i do not have anybody IRL to discus raw meat eating with. Would be nice to have somebody to discus it with and share proper food sources etc.

Hi all,

I have been browsing and reading here for a while and it seemed that the posting is drying up a bit. So i thought i would join and do my part in keeping things alive.  :D

I'm from the (south-ish side of the) Netherlands and have been eating mostly raw carnivore for about 1 year. Before this i was doing cooked carnivore for about 1,5 years and before that 'standard' keto for 2 years. Me and my wife started out with keto as an experiment for my wife's health and this helped a lot, although she is still struggling quite a bit with her health (she is on cooked carnivore now). I'm doing pretty good/amazing (although that is also what i thought when i was on the SAD diet..) on raw carnivore. Currently eating mostly (organ) meat (chicken/beef/pork), butter and milk, eggs, and some fruit here and there. Hoping to/working on healing my back from scoliosis, my bad eyesight and bad breath (this one is a bit puzzling to me) and i'm sure many other aliments will come up when those are done.

That is it for now. I'm looking forward to discussing food and health with everybody here :-)

Regards,
Mark
