Health / weakening eyesight

Hi all,

I have been on and of raw paleo the last years, experimented a lot with raw and cooked plant foods and recognised my eyesight becoming significantly weaker, before I was always proud of my clear and sharp eyes.
My vision is a little blurry and I can not read the small letters any more -[
I think it might be related to blood sugar problems and or diary consumption even if I dont eat a lot of dairy, just some raw butter occasionally.
I m 50 years now and not at all ready to wearing glasses.
What are your experiences with your eyesight related to diet and lifestyle, how can I make  my eyes fully healthy again?
Right now I eat  mostly beef fat, meat and organs, fish, some avocado, coconut, non starchy vegetables raw and cooked, ACV, some fermented vegetables sometimes, salt and herbs

Health / low body temperature

Hi,

I live in the south of France and it is still pretty warm and almost always suny. But I feel so cold. I took my temperature and it was quite low 35,5 C or 96 F . Then I started taking my temperature all day, after raising, meditating, eating, sport, showering etc.After a green juice it was like 34,4 :P after clams with avocado 35 C . I tried all kinds of things, upted my calories like crazy with loads of beef fat. It raised my temperature but made me so sick I lost one Kg in one night and feel even colder than before. I tried cooking my fish and meat and made fish stock to warm me up. I recognised that the temperature goes up for a short time but goes down later, no difference with the raw food so I m going to stick with mostly raw. I tried miso soupe and it totally raises my themprature like 1,1/2 degrees in 2 minutes? If I do a mudra meditation with fire breathing I get my temperature up as well. Being in my warm bed increases my temperature as well. If I m active, doing sports temperature goes down. After all I red its a sigh of hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue. I already take tyrosine pregnenonelon. Do anybody has similar experiences or ideas what to do. I would like so much to have a toasty warm body.

General Discussion / parasites in fish roe

Hi,

I m in Philadelphia now, today I bought a lot of fish roe in a grand market hall here. I ate some raw for lunch with a salad and some ACV. This evening I wanted to eat more of it and when I opened the box I saw something moving . I looked at it, it was a worm perhaps 1 cm long. So I guess the whole fish row was full of them and I ate some for lunch today. Now I feel very sick -v. Don't know what to do right now, because I m not at home I have no essential oils like oregano oil here or parasit cleansers. I could buy them perhaps tomorrow. Is there anything I can do, are this little worms dangerous anyways and are they going to stay alive in my tummy??? -[

General Discussion / first time in america

In a couple of days I m going to fly to america, I have never traveled that far so I m very  exited and also a bit nervous. I will be in Philadelphia for 2 days and in Savannah, Georgia for 7 Days. I don't know what to expect food wise there. Could anybody give me some advice where I can buy my rawpaleo food -d. I know there is this whole food grocery chain everywhere in the US. Can I buy grass fed beef there or in other shops and organ meats and marrow and fat. Good fat is most important for me. Or is there a farmers market where I can buy good meat and fat. And is there a place where I can buy coconuts? And are there restaurants where I can eat rawpaleo foods? If there are any paleo people in the savannah area I would love to meet them.

After having taken antibiotics in the winter my digestion is still very week and I do not assimilate so much of the food that I m eating I started to take probiotics and I eat Sauerkraut and ACV and already my digestion and skin is a lot better . I wanted to try Em 1 now, anybody has experiences with it. Wanted to take it internally and also as a starter to ferment vegetables. And what about Kombucha, would that be a good Idea. What else could I do to better my microbiom on raw paleo very high fat?

I m on a raw mostly animal based very high fat, high protein diet. This is the diet who works best for me. But even on this diet I have some issues like amenorrea, brainfog, nausea, insomnia, getting liver spots on my body, being underweight. I think a lot is related to my liver not functioning optimal, never did I think, even as a child.
So what are you people do for your liver, what would be a good liverdetox strategie and how could I help my liver on a daily basis and to get a superstrong and health liver O0

I m moving place and I m emptying my freezer. I still have a lot of wild rabbit, it is now 2 1/2 jears old. People here tell me to throw it away; what do you think, it is very difficult to get wild rabbit here so I'm a bit hessitant. How lon can you keep meet in the freezer and how long can you keep the fat and fish?

Health / liver spots, moles

last year I started to develope lots of liver spots mainly under the breast, (I made fotos but dont know how to put them in the script?)
I eate a lot of fish; some meat and a lot of beef fat, some butter and avocado loads of eggs, mainly low carb and I eate a lot I never had liver spots at all before and now I have thousands and that feels very strange I would like to know the reason because it continues; I develope new ones almost every other day?
My doctor told me it is normal and I should take vitamin D
I think it has something to do with my liver Perhaps my liver is still clogged? Perhaps I eat too much fats, too much beef fat or too much pufas, too much protein, to much food in general because of trying to gain weight, late time eating, frozen fat or protein, butter, eggs, I dont know what is the cause Does somebody else recognises this kind of symtoms, or has an idea where it could come from and what to do about it?
In december I had an antibiotique treatment because of ulcers, heliobacter pylori, perhaps it damaged something?

Hi, Paleos

a couple of weeks ago I thought I would like to start dating so I went on a internet dating site. It is quite funy and I enjoy the new exitment in my life, chosing man like in a catalog, having conversation with them, having rendez vous etc etc. Anyways, when I think about being one day serious with somebody it might be a bit complicated for me as a mostly rawpaleo. I already do a lot of things I would not do normaly and I feel that it is not healty for me!

Today I thought to be with a paleo guy would be so much more fun and adventure, 
So if there are any nice and interesting solo paleo guys out there,  between 40 and 60 years old would be good, I would love to get in contact with them

At the moment I live in the south of france but everything can change :)

Salut :
I did not write for some time here because I guessed I should stop asking,  after all this years of trying I should finally have found a way to nurish myself in a gentle and sustainabel way. And really, more and more, I know what agreas with me, its my paradise diet:
I know I feel well and happy if I eat fish; shelfesh (very fresh) salads; ,vegetables, some coconut -not too much, it seemes to give me stomach pain-a little bit of avocado, green juices and vegetable juices, some meat, specially organ meat, everything raw
and, so important for my well being, I have to  eat smal amounts :P, being outside a lot and exercise
The thing is, if I live like that, I feel greate but I loose weight very very fast
It is a cycle, I looooose weight, get very scarry thin; can not regain the weight any more with health eating; starting stuffing myself all day with things that are not good for me at all , making myself sick and, the worse thing, I loose my joy of life
Right now I'm eating loads of organ meats, lots and lots of beef fat, some fish and shellfish, some green juice every day, some vegetables; sometimes I force myself to eat bananas with my meat or papaya to raise my insuline,
I eat as soon as I get up and I often eat  before bed to make fasting time a short as possible
I feel not good at all doing it, but as soon as I start eating following my feelings the scale goes down. I allways tell me it is just for a short period of time till I regained my weight and then I can do what I want The thing is that even with all thatI I'm doing I have such a hard time gaining.
 Do we all have to eat such huge amounts on this diet (I feel like a monster) Is it the fact that everyting is raw that makes our food so 'thinning' ???
How can we gain weight in a pleasurable way? Is more fruit the answer?
Of corse exercise, weight training; sleep, EMF is very important, I know ;)

Hi,

I feel like a total failure. I would love to do the ketoginic raw paleo diet, but my body does not do the work. I have and allways had problems with fat digestion.  The amounts of fat I have to eat to keep my weight or even to gain weight I can not digest. I have to take a lot of enzymes and herbs and ACV and Lemon and 1000 other things to help me digest and even with this I feel most of the days very very sick and anxious. I'm breating hard and short like a 70 jears old fat man,  I have body odor, if I eat a lot of beef fat. I loose weight every day at the moment, now I'm on 38 kg, 1.65 m, Is it possible that some people just can't adapt to a high fat livestyle? I'm sick every day and sometimes I think a starch based diet would be so much easier. I'm diabetic type 2 but when I tried the futarian very low fat diet last year my blood sugar was not so bad (but I did not like it at all; all this sugar, I was quite disgusted)
When I read what some of you eat without discomfort I'm amazed. Don't know what to do, dont want to be sick any more because I force myself to eat things he apparently can not handel. This is so wrong and I'm getting sicker and weaker every day? This is redicioulus. Is it possible that some people will never adapt to a high fat diet?

General Discussion / freezing or aging in the fridge

Hey folks,

I know this question came up here quite a lot. But still I'm not sure about it.
The thing is, often when I go to the butchers I buy way to much because all looks so good and then at home I see that it is too much to eat in one week or so (I like my meet very fresh) Then I start eating always to much because I don't want to throw it away and then I feel bad. Today I bought a big calf kidney, one whole calf spleen, 3 calf brains, 2 kg backfat, lots of bones with bone marrow, 2 lamb hearts, 6 Mackerel, till have a lot of lamb liver and wild rabbit in my fridge, uhhh that's so much and it was quite expensive. I already put some of the spleen in the freezer but often I don't like the frozen meet and fat. And it feels different. How long you gard meet and organs in the fridge? How long stays brain fresh in the fridge ? And kidney? What is worse; freezing or the  oxidation in the fridge?
By the way it was my first brain; strange thing but it tastes interesting, will eat always a bit to get used to it :)

Hi  :),

I was reading the thread about raw bone broth, what a nice idea :) and thought that it would be great to be able to ferment beef fat and perhaps even eggs . Beef fat gives me a lot of energy and is so relyable in keeping my weight up but I find it hard to digest, harder than any other fat( but I have difficulties with fat digestion in general). Fermented fats like raw kefir or fermented coconut  milk are soooo much more easy and pleasant to digest :P for me. are there any experiences, ideas about fermenting animal fat? And what do you guys do to make fat more easy to digest?

General Discussion / gaining weight, circulation and saturated fat

Hi everyone,

it's a long time since I was here. I was ill, stopped paleo because I thought it was the reason,  tried loads of different diet ideas again like the ph diet, whole grain diet, cooked a lot tried fruitarianism, juicing etc. I lost a lot of weight on my way (and all my muscles), was totally emaciated. 36 kg for 1.65 m.
I couldn't gain the weight back till a friend of mine (Löwenherz :)) brought me back to paleo and showed me how to eat for weight gain. I started eating 1 to one and a half kg of hyper fatty meet (mostly beef), ca 200 g of fatty fish, with perhaps 200 to 300 g of butter with some egg yolks, raw goat cheese and  gelatin every day, took loads of digestive enzymes and probiotiques and glutamie, and 100 to 200 g of freshly made coconut cream. Almost no veggies and fruits, but a bit of green juice, some avocados. I gained almost 8 kg in 3 weeks but after it my belly hurted and felt very inflamed and I was totally tired (but soooo greatfull that I  looked like a human being again) .
Since then I calmed down, stopped the dairy because it gave me stomach inflammation, just take raw butter sometimes.
I still eat a lot of meat, some organs and a lot of fat. Yesterday night a blood vessel in my eye crashed. Also I get spiderveins again, the same problem I had when I first tried raw paleo. I would like to know the cause because I feel so good and strong with my new diet and don't want to dump everything again.
My thoughts about it are:
- it could be that I eat to much of this incredible saturated fat, this very chalky and dry beef and lamb fat witch sticks to the teet and tonge?
-could be that I eat to much red meet?
- not enough veggies?
-my body is to acidic with all that meat?
sometimes after I eat I take some peace of fatty meat with lots of collagen and fat on it and I chew on it for hours to calm me down (before I was a bit chewing gum addicted)
Perhaps this is not good because with that I have a constant supply of fat, proteins, collagen even after I eat?
This very hard beef fat I eat, a lot of people say that it is not good for health. It is so dense and sticky, I don't now if it is very digestable or digestable at all. Butter feels a lot softer in my mouth, but I don't now if it is better for digestion and health. Perhaps I will do more coconut now as I'm not so much under this weight gaining pressure any more (I never managed gaining weight with coconut a my staple fat)
But I still have so much of this hard beef fat in my fridge and it is so easy to get loads of it.
What are your experiences with hard beef fat?
Is there a way to make it more digestible? As an example mixing it with lecithin or ACV or berries or egg yolk or sauerkraut?
What could be the reason that my bloodvessels burst?
What can I do to prevent further damage, are there supplements to take.
Should I make more veggies, salads, green juices, teas?

Health / blood glucose, high fat, depression

Hi all,

I'm super embarrassed and feel so much like a loser. I hardly  write in this forum any more because I am so depressed, I have no force any more and anyway there is nothing I can give to others, I have no answers, just questions, questions, questions.... I think about suicide all the time, it is just my daughter , I can not let her alone I think (not even sure if she wouldn't be better of  without me).

My body is falling apart. It feels spooky. I lost almost all my muscle, my weight is sooo low I'm like a scarecrow. 38 kg, 1,65m, my veins on my legs and arms are sticking out, I look so sick. I was at the beach today, I did not dare to undress myself.
For a couple of years I'm more or less superthin and It was always a big problem for me but now something else is happening. I lose all my muscles, even in my face???
I was so often ill the last years, then I found out by myself that I'm apparently diabetic. I did not want to go on medications and tried to solve the problem myself.
I stopped more and more the carbs. Cut out all sugary, starchy food, even carrots,
Also I stopped eating meat and meat fat because I always was very very ill after some time eating it.
So I tried with lots of fish and seafood and low carb veggies. My blood glucose was ok but I lost even more substance. I did more and more fat to up my calories. (I do not digest fat well)
At the moment fatty fish, avocados, coconut and sometimes macadamianuts, that are my fat sources. Olive oil and coconut oil I try sometimes but it feels strange. Sometimes egg yolk but it seems to cause inflammation. To digest all this fat I take apple cider  vinegar, sunflower lecithin, ginger, digestive enzymes and Creon, that's so ridiculous. After it I often have to take herbs and tinctures because I feel nauseous.
I take tonnes of other supplements and amino acids, also to calm me down and to help me sleep.
Since I started taking my blood glucose I'm even more scared of eating than I was before. Sometimes my glucose is superhigh just because I ate a kohlrabi or so with my meal. I eat almost no veggies any more, even to much onions and paprika give me spikes. But I love vegetables. I can not eat to much protein neither. Just avocados, coconut, I eat so much of it that I feel sick but I don't gain any weight or muscle mass.
My doc always tells me I have to eat glucose with protein to get stronger, sugar opens the cell for the protein, but sugar I can not do because of this diabetes condition, a ideology also told me I have pancreas insufficiency.
I don't now what to do with the situation any more, everything seems to be poisonous, even low carb veggies I can not enjoy any more. Low carb is very difficult without meat fat and butter and I doubt that it is very healthy. I also feel that I'm even more carb sensitive with all this fat in my body???
I feel so tired, I only want to live a simple and peaceful live, I want to know what to do to get out of this rollercoaster of sickness, blood sugar spikes, inflammation, nausea, depression, insomnia and underweight etc.

So negative what I wrote :P
but anyway something has to happen. This forum is the only place where I find people like me. Other elephants ;)

Health / stomac acid

Hi all,

I have a super important question for you. l)
I had loads of health problems during the last years.
I realise now that it was all caused by my digestive system not working properly. I definitely produce not enough stomach acid, not enough bile and not enough enzymes in my pancreas.  So now I just have to build up my digestions force and than I will be totally healthy again ;D.
Today I started already, I ate everyting mono, took bitter herbs and ginger before and after meal and sipped a bit of apple cider vinegar diluted or lemon juice with it. I feel good now and I'm in a good mood. Normally at this time I feel so sick, nausea, vertigo, and I have this strange fear which goes from my belly to my heart and I'm so very scared. Sounds totally strange I know -\.
Anyway Acid really seems to be a key for me. As soon as I add acid to my food it digest sooo easy. Normally I always fell as if  I have eaten stones after a meal and I am sooo nauseous. I have a hard time getting some Cal every day and I'm seriously scared of eating.
The problem is that I'm already demineralised and my nathuropath told me I should take no acid at all ever (and no fruit, but this is not a big problem) I know also that acid can harm me because one year ago I consumed acid regularly in the form of lemon to help me digest and grapefruit I took in the morning. After I while I recognised that the tips of my front teeth became transparent and I stopped the acid. I also have slight osteoporosis because of my low body weight.
Now I don't know what to do. Acid helps me so much but I'm scared of taking it and causing a  new problem. Bitters of course help a lot but I did not get the same results from them jet.
What about Betain HCL, is it acidifying as well? I didn't find any info about HCL and acidity so far.
What do you do to help your digestion, your stomach, liver, pancreas?
Is there such a thing like a paleo protokol to heal  the digestiv system and to make it strong again?
My nathuropath told me to eat only white rice and ghee for a while but, seriously -v -X :o?????????

Coldplay - Paradise
the little elefant, that's me :)

I start this journal to help me find my way to paradise, help others with my experiences and to have fun ;)

For 3 years now I'm on and of raw paleo. When I m on I feel very good for some time and than I get very sick. Was sick again had a  high fiber the last 2 days, lost consciousness, cramped, vomited, diarrhea, headache, pain in my whole body  -v etc.
the thing is that I always forcefeed myself. Because I am skinny :P
I always eat to much and perhaps to often.
I was raw vegan before, was a bad idea, not good for my health but I never got sick like I do with paleo.
My reaction to animal products is much stronger I think.
This time I think it was because I eat to much high meat for some days and to much self made coconut cream. (and to much over all, to be honest)
Anyway, I'm starting now with my healing journey :)
Currently my weight is 40 kg, I'm 1,65 m high

I totally crashed today. -v
the last days I ate a lot of self made coconut creme. And Fish and I ate a lot of high meat (ca 50 g) for breakfast yesterday because I had no normal meat any more. I put it in the meat grinder with onions and zucchini, so no instinctive stop. I also had some  fish.
I try to eat fish or meat 3 times a day. perhaps it is to much for me.
I vanished this night, had high fiber all day(40,5,) cramps, pain, nausea, headache total acid body tissue. Sorry for the messy writing, I feel so sick.
of course no food today, but what should I do tomorrow. I m already freaking out because I don't know how to go on. I m already underweight. I do not know how to nourish myself, how ridiculous is this. Majour breakdowns quite regularly and so painfull.
I need a nourishing diet.
I need a  perspective. I feel that high fat and some meat, fish 3 times a day is very taxing for my system.
I don't do well at all with fruit, don't like it by the way and I think it sort of contradicts  a meat fat diet.  tried potatoes often, they gave me diarrhea and depression.
Butter is dangerous for me as well, don't want to be sick any more.

Health / raynaud syndrom

Hi all :),

I'm on my  healing paleo journey coming from raw vegan I already feel a lot better.
Anyway there are still some issues from my vegan (starvation >D) times I have not solved yet.
The last years I developed this thing with my microcirculation, like raynauds but not as bad. It is already better, also because of the cold treatment I am doing.Still my Fingernails are always white, the tips are red, looks weird. (sign of bad circulation) I have often blue feet or hands or lips and if it is a bit cold I get chilblains. So not cool. :o
I know I get warmer when I eat meat and good fats, fish I love but does not seems to help with this toppic. I get cold with veggies, specially with green juices. Not with wild herbs, they seem to be warming.
Löwenherz told me he had raynauds when he ate a lot of veggies, specially the hard and fibrous stuff. That made me think.
Perhaps I overdo the veggie thing and also might be that I eat to much fiber?
What are your experience with circulation, a lot of vegetation in the diet, fiber, warm and cold feelings in the body.
I also eat loads of coconut, it is also very fibrous. Would it be better to make coconutmilk, could it be that all this fiber takes to much strength to digest?
What about coconut oil, good for circulation or is it more a burden for the lymph? (I thing I am quite very much congested)
I thought about skiping or heavily reducing vegetable matter for a week or so and see if something changes? I feel that a lot of things I do are already so good for me but there are clearly some things I keep doing that sabotage my progress -d

Hi,
during the last month I was on a crazy high everything, mostly raw, high calorie diet to gain weight.  Gaining weight is very difficult for me but I managed to gain 6 Kg in 3 month.  One reason for it was I think that I added butter to my diet.  Butter is so easy for me to digest.
Anyway, I loved my new weight.  The unpleasent thing is that I develloped also cellulite >D on my thights.
Thougt it could be the butter or the Avocados, so I stoped eating them. That was superdifficult and I eate a lot of veggies and nuts and buckwheat sprouts zu compensate. But I lost weight anyway and my legs don't look better at all
How can  I get rid of this------THING???

Health / liver/Gallblader needs help, paleo liver flush?

HI,

for a while now I feel quite sick and digest almost nothing any more. Just a little bit of fresh fish, veggies, a little bit of coconut and olives and nuts and stuff. No meat, no fruit, sends me in depression for days, fat makes me nauseous very quickly.
I know that my liver, gallblader and pankreas are totally blocked and I feel like a detox and to fortify this organs.
I already started to take some apple cider vinagre and eat one egg yolk , lemon juice with coconut oil every morning. I am a bit hesitant with the coconut oil because sometimes I feel very nauseous with oil. Would it be also effective to eat fresh coconut meat with the egg and lemon?
First thing in the morning I take a green juice with ginger and lemon and sun warrior protein.in
I grind milk thistle seeds and eat dandelion  and mint and other herbs.
Any Ideas what I could do for my liver, gallbladder. I am so fed up to be ill all the time :P
Anybody did the liver flush and which one did you do?
I would like a very gentle one, I am not very strong at the moment.
Is it possible that my liver suffered because I eat often some days old fish and fish eggs (kept them open in my fridge)?
My husband thinks I poisoned myself with nasty bacteria.

Hi,

at the moment I have only access to grainfed animals. I eat raw fish and fishroe and eggs. But it starts getting boring and I can not eat very much of it. I would like to add liver and bone marrow to my diet and some meat. Is grain fed liver and bone marrow ok grainfed or is it better not to eat land animals at all if I dont have access to grassfed. What about lard? And grainfed chicken?

General Discussion / spider veins on raw paleo

Hi all,

for a couple of weaks I am on a raw paleo diet and since then I have a massive proliferation of spider veins.
I paniked and added veggies and sprouts back to my diet and cut meat and fish to max 100 g per meal. I dont know I someone has experinced something like that or nows how to prevent it. I really need to know the reason because I have to stop it. Thought perhaps it could be the massive amounts of fat I eat just to keep my weight (and also as a goal to gain weight) I often feel so heavy and sluggish after a mealwith lots of fat  for a long time and if I my blood flow is as sluggish as how I feel than it is not so amazing that the circulation is hindert I think.
I also thought about why is it that there are mostly men on this forum. Is it that this diet is not so beneficial  for women because to heavy in protein or fat or to acid or I dont know?
I would love to  find my way on this diet because I think paleo is really cool.
And I absolutly have to stop this spider veins buissnes.
Would it perhaps help to eat more fish or less fat or whatever???
At the moment I eat 3 or 4 times a day fatty meat or fish with some herbs and veggies, between 70 and 150 g per meal.
