How long have you been eating a pound of raw red meat for?

I use to be able to eat that much although something changed quite recently and I couldn't tolerate any raw meat for a while which is what got me into bone broths. I eat my bones raw now though and estimate I get up to 20 grams of protein on good days just from bones and cartilage. Combined with the 25-35 grams of protein I get from meat is about 55 grams. Its not much and I am very underweight 6 ft 140 lbs. I have always weighed that much though and the most I weighed was 155 when I ate the aajonus way. After cutting dairy I just haven't been able to comfortably get the extra protein grams in. I am thinking it is just going to take time to adjust to getting all my protein from meat instead of milk and eggs.

Do you eat your meat pre or post workout if any?

I also agree that I digest best separating plants and animals. Eating animal after plants never feels good so I stick to animals in morning and plants in the evening.

I am always interested when people do these type of experiments for I would definitely take note of any and all reactions.

I agree he did not seem all the way there. He also has not posted anything in while so I am assuming some of them did not go well.

I personally can not tolerate more than 5-6 ounces of raw meat in one sitting and usually only once per day.

For me the most important thing is the raw fat and raw bones. Raw protein was either taken care of in my first year raw paleo or I have developed some intolerance to it. Not sure yet...

Eventually I hope to experiment with fasting from raw meat for several days and then consuming larger portions. This is in hopes to properly digest larger amounts of raw meat.

I was pretty impressed seeing someone down almost 5 pounds of raw meat in one sitting so I thought I would share. In another video he consumes 3 lbs meat and 24 raw eggs.

Maybe being low carb has something to do with it...

I think it might depend on how long you have been raw. I only ate organs once a month for the first 7 months of raw. Now I eat them every day. Although I too find that liver is better tolerated at very low doses and not every day. Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin therefore stores in your fat and if I am correct your body can pull it out as needed. So this means if we consume liver we are getting the Vitamin A for a couple days afterwards. So we would be fine only consuming it every couple days and none would go to waste like Tyler mentioned...

You could also flip it every couple days. I do that sometimes. Although if you need it for 3 weeks I think I would just keep it in a jar and air it out every day.

@ Iguana

You like your mini fridge? It doesnt dry the meat out too much? I use a mini fridge and it seemed to dry my meat out to much. Although I imagine if I were to hang larger chunks inside then it would keep the inner parts more moist. Well I just ordered several meat hooks and found a large fridge. So I should be set up with hanging my meat in a few weeks. Im excited.

I have usually just been setting my meat on dry racks in my closet and it works well. I found that after the meat has been aged in a jar for a few weeks and then dry aged in my closet I tend not to enjoy the taste as much as meat that has been entirely dry aged.

@Eveheart.

I also really enjoy making meatballs with ground beef and letting them dry age for a few days. Mmm delicious :)

I bought a ferrier's file as Van recommended and am very happy with it. Fresh bone meal tastes good. Almost sweet.

@ Iguana

What temperature do you keep it at? Also do you/can you adjust the humidity level?

I am on the look out for a fridge so I can keep my meet this way. I am getting tired of dealing with jars.

Thank for the info PaleoPhil. Very very interesting and potentially groundbreaking stuff. I wonder if our appendix has anything to do with RS processing. Any info on this?

Raw butter is my favorite to oil pull with. You can also use olive oil. I used to do it a lot and still do occasionally. Yes I believe some is absorbed/swallowed and you can't really help it. Nothing I would be concerned about though.

What time of the day do you prefer to have your RS?

I am starting to agree. I always thought my path to health was by giving up starch and grains. It seemed like such an easy fix. I think it might not be so easy though and I am again having to reconsider my diet.

Is the potato starch you use considered raw? Whats your opinion on juicing raw tubers?

Yah essentially that is what it means.

How are you doing with your resistant starch experiments? Still consume it daily?

I newer do good with organ meat. Think oxylates is a lifelong problem with me. Also the high copper content might be aggregating some candida i have read... Always feel bad a few days when eating liver or kidney heart is ok. Butter i eat since i find it to be a superior fat source. Makes me warm and i feel great from it.
How dou you add fruit to this diet?  Would you eat fruit as first thing in the morning before any fats?

I have tried to find the answer to this question through many days of experimenting and as far as I can tell I do better with carbs later in the day rather than early. I feel like carbs inhibit fat absorption therefore I try to eat my carbs after the majority of my fat has already been consumed. Although I would be interested to know your experience if you do start eating more carbs.

When I tried ZC I stopped because of similar issues that I thought was related to kidneys. I later got a blood test and found out my kidneys were in optimal condition. I then re checked my symptoms online and found it was related to gallbladder. Kidney trouble is usually associated with lower back while gallbladder is more related to middle shoulder pain As well as neck pain. Just something to think about.

I just want to know the caffeine content because I feel like its not the caffeine that I crave in coffee as Decaf always fulfills my craving. I feel like the caffeine is the negative part of coffee and would rather go with out it as much as possible.

I use the cold brew machine that I posted a picture of for my company. We just fill the top part with ice water, from the local sedona spring, and 8 hours later we have a quart and a half of cold brewed coffee. Which, if you've ever had it, is much more concentrated than normal coffee.

I wonder how much caffeine your getting with your method. Ive searched and searched for a caffeine tester although have yet to find one. I actually own a cold brew coffee company that delivers cold brew locally. We get our beans from Guatemala and they are organic. Thats why we use a big one.
Do you heat up the water after you have been soaking them? Also do you use the ordinary amount of two tablespoons per 8 oz cup?
I have always craved coffee as long as I can remember although for the most part go without. I never was sure why exactly. Maybe its the culture around it.
Anyway I unfortunately am not aware of the complete process for soaking the beans in a brine. I couldn't find anything on their website with actual details. I imagine it is some patented process though. I have considered calling Life Extension and asking.

Could just be the plastic in general. I have heard of people getting botulism from canned peaches. I am assuming it was a BPA lined can.

I too have experimented with different types of coffee. I have not had it for several weeks now and hoping to go longer though. When I do partake I use a cold brew machine. Are you familiar with these? Also have you heard of this coffee company Rich Rewards? Supposedly they soak the Raw beans in a brine and then lightly roast them and then re soak them in the brine to absorb the Raw nutrients. Here is a link.

http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item01609/Rich-Rewards-Breakfast-Blend.html

I found less negative symptoms with this coffee and I got high energy levels. So much so that I only consume half the recommended dose when brewing. I suspect the caffeine levels are higher.
