Hot Topics / Re: Autism explained

http://www.rdos.net/eng/asperger.htm

My theory at the moment: Austism occurs when a person with a large proportion of Neanderthal genes doesn't eat enough raw meat.

I think I have a lot of Neanderthal genes.

I have been thinking about this exact same thing for the last few days. I have had autistic tendencies(Poor ability to pay attention, obsessions, poor social skills, etc... the whole package) throughout my life. I understand social interaction completely now (or at least I think :P). It's just that I tend to not want to engage in them. The poor attention span and obsessions remain though.

That article you posted describes me pretty well. I don't really care about appearances and often criticize society for placing so much importance on it. I have a very weak sense of group identity or ethnic affiliation. I even have that bump at the back of my head. My build is not lean and my limbs are not long. I even have a preference for colder climates. :P

I bet you these men are born to single mothers. I would bet my house.

Their mothers rode the welfare/feminism gravy train and this is the outcome.

So that's the only reason then. So bad fathers are not at fault here? What would make women want to be single in the first place. Hmm... I wonder... :P  l)

General Discussion / Re: What would YOU do?

I discovered it at 19. I'm barely 20 now.

Hmm... Maybe I'd be a bit taller. Maybe I wouldn't have turned out to be a total schizoid but it may be genetic; I've always been a bit weird and socially retarded.

Honestly I try not to think about the what abouts, the might have beens, and the could have beens. It only brings me down.

I happened to have left some meat out and forgot about it. I found maggots on it today. I thought about trying but I just COULDN'T DO IT MAN! :P I threw it in the garbage.

Journals / Holy Crap, sardines are REALLY GOOD
« on: July 15, 2011, 07:54:42 am »
I think I'll be okay today. I'm eating raw sardines for the first time and WOW. They don't taste different from the cooked ones. Sardine is a very nostalgic food for me. I remember eating spicy sardine stew and anchovy was a staple when I was growing up.

Journals / Starving but can't really eat anything. :(

I thought I was getting better but the affliction got worse again today as the day went on. I wasn't able to eat anything besides lemon juice the first two days. Yesterday, I ate about 1/2lb of salmon and 3 apricots which is barely 400 calories. I started to feel queasy so I stopped. Today, I was planning to eat normally, but I became nauseous after eating 6 egg yolks. The thought of eating raw red meat or heavy fat is really putting me off. Just looking at it in the fridge is really making me go EHHH. The only thing enjoyable right now is fruit and I'm wary of eating too much. I'm SOO HUNGRY and for some reason fish/seafood stew sounds very good right now.

Hey CHK91,

I had pretty similar symptoms actually.  I don't know what caused it, but I have a few theories.  If you want to check out my journal I go into pretty good detail on the matter.  I got sushi the day before and drank some sake at the restaurant.  Then I cleaned my house (a lot of dust).  Then I was drinking spring water from questionable sources.  Then I was violently ill with fever and other symptoms you describe.

Anything in common with what you did?

No, nothing in common with what I had done before. Some of the symptoms are similar. I was constantly tired but I couldn't get any decent quality sleep since my fever became more severe with the blankets, but I needed the blankets because at the same time I felt so cold. It was miserable. I lost 10 pounds the last 3 days. I could not eat during this period. Luckily I had some lemons around. I was so dehydrated from diarrhea. For the first time in a long while I was craving fruit probably because of the hydrating minerals. Too bad I don't really keep any around. XP I'm starting to feel better finally but I'm still weak.

You were eating the clay and started internal bleeding?  How did that ever resolve?

Oh that stopped a long time ago.

Journals / Worst detox ever (felt like dying) or food borne illness?
« on: July 11, 2011, 12:31:43 am »
Last night I woke up with an intense fever, the intensest I've ever had. I had bad chills and my muscles were completely sore and shut down. My eyes were red and hurting and had a massive headache. I don't know what time this was. I was so delirious that I couldn't really make sense of anything. Before I slept, there was no indication that anything was wrong with me. Along with these symptoms I felt pressure under my lower right ribcage that seemed to relax as time went by. Can the release of gallbaldder toxins cause these symptoms? I also had tinnitus which occurred when I've done flushes before. I wasn't doing a flush. It just happened. I've been taking herbals for for bile flow. I guess the pressure could have built up and just released all at once. I took a ton of bentonite clay which helped somewhat.

Or does this sound like food poisoning? I wasn't vomiting but had diarrhea and bile flow is also known to increase bowel movements.

The symptoms were so intense that I was so close to calling someone to take me to the hospital. I don't remember feeling this sick ever.

Even now I feel very exhausted. The fever has lowered but the headache and muscle soreness/weakness has been intense. I could barely walk properly to get water.

Any feedback would be appreciated or temporary relief remedies would be welcome. I was legitimately scared for my wellbeing. It was that bad. :(

General Discussion / Tools to make bone meal
« on: June 26, 2011, 12:53:58 am »
I have read that some here have used files to make their own bone meal. Does anyone have any specific product recommendations? Are there any other methods that others would like to share?

Do you mean bison back fat? I searched the Northstar and Slankers sites. I didn't find any back fat at Northstar. I found this at Slankers: "bison Buffalo Fat (4# Packs)" http://www.texasgrassfedbeef.com/grass_fed_bison.htm

Does anyone know if this is the back fat or contains it?

Yes, it generally is the back fat. Sometimes you will get other non suet trimmings too.

I find myself sleeping a lot more when I don't feel as healthy the day before. Whenever my bile ducts become clogged again, I tend to sleep more. I hate sleeping that long. It makes me feel so damn lazy.

Lack of digestive enzymes from a congested bile duct/gallbladder/liver was the problem. I'm doing liver flushes and taking herbal bile thinners. It has been working for me.

Yeah, I had this problem in the beginning too. I think it had something to do with the fact that I never had eaten so much meat regularly in my life.

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Re: What plants do you eat?
« on: May 23, 2011, 09:56:07 pm »
Cumcumber, berries, lemons, kiwis in moderation.

I don't know anything about wild plant food, but I do wish to learn. Unfortunately, I live in a great wasteland known as Suburbia and I doubt anything worth eating exists close to me.

Off Topic / Orthodontic correction
« on: May 22, 2011, 10:18:23 pm »
I happen to be a good example of what happens to people on "civilized" diets in regards to orthodontic health. I had braces (which I ABSOLUTELY HATED) as a young teenager, but it wasn't effective in the long run. It did fix how my teeth were aligned in respect to each other. My lower jaw is underdeveloped; my chin recedes back toward my neck. Full smiles are uncomfortable for me as if my mouth isn't quite big enough for all my teeth.  My right TMJ is not in the right position, and it is throwing my facial symmetry off noticeably. My teeth are not horizontal with respect to my eyes; the side with the TMJ problem is pulled more up.

At my age, 19, is it possible at all for any of these factors to improve if not by diet but by some other method? I have been hitting vitamin D and K2 really really hard, basically a shot in the dark measure. Or... Do I have to spend the rest of my life not wanting to look in the mirror or smile? -[ -[

I know these sensitivities are a gift and a curse. We can't eat like everyone, but we aren't suffering from hidden sickness caused by these foods. I avoid anything seedlike even sprouted, I avoid fruits with seeds and a lot of fruits and veg (cucumbers too :< )

Basically meat is best for me, low carb is the way to go for me.
Yeah, the seeds in the cucumbers have crossed my mind before, but I haven't noticed any negative effect. I guess it has something to do with the fact that they are bred to become less prominent. It's great for hydration; lots of K.

My principle is to try to limit food that isn't capable of mobility. I guess that's why shellfish causes allergies in some people.

Not the city sewer ones but the ones in the wild , a lot of people eat the wild ones but i'm curious. Could be a new food I can add to my diet  :D

Unfortunately in the US, the "wild" is often not far from centers of civilization.  :P

I usually try to avoid bitter foods. Bitter tastes of poison to me, my taste buds are right.

Antioxidant plants like mustards, non spicy peppers, tomatoes, grapefruit(bitter) I avoid like the plague. Anything that makes me itch too. I just go with my body.

Meat is the safest bet.

Are both of us cursed with such sensitivities or are we actually blessed? XP It's so strange. I remember eating these foods without such extreme negative reactions, but now I absolutely cannot handle them. When I tried to start recovery, first by the WAP diet, I attempted to use spices to cook, and it always made me feel ill. Plant antioxidants/aromatic compounds are a big no for me generally; if I do decide to eat something like a cucumber, I peel the skin or layers at the top since that is where most of the plant defense compounds exist. Also, I'm allergic to pretty much everything a person can be allergic to, but I think this is a good thing since it's a strong incentive to stop eating neolithic food. However, I can still eat seafood/shellfish and egg yolk so I'm still happy.  ;D ;D ;D

A side note:

When I was a very young toddler, I was hospitalized for a long period due to a very low platelet count. I have no idea how this could have happened. Maybe it is some genetic defect. Fortunately, I improved over time. I still recall bruising very easily during my early-mid childhood. Anyways, I was given a drug called Tamoxifen. I have no clue why after reading about it. My mother told me I immediately became unconscious; it gave her a scare. Tamoxifen affects CYP3A4 which is also affected by naringin in grapefruit juice. Very interesting....

Welcoming Committee / Re: Hi all!!!

Hi Greg!   :)

24
A few weeks ago I had a very bad experience with a little bit of grapefruit. I became immediately depressed and feel strange uncomfortable sensations on the sides of my throat. This feeling lasted about a day of two. I looked up grapefruit and a mention about naringin made me very curious. Some of you have probably heard about quercetin, naringin(grapefruit), rutin, etc. Well it turns out many of these so called beneficial compounds disrupt Cytochrome P450 enzymes which are responsible for steroid hormone metabolism.

Examples

CYP3 - Testosterone metabolism
CYP7 - Bile acid synthesis
CYP51 - Cholesterol biosynthesis

I would guess some compounds are more potent than others. I have been eating kiwi occasionally and it doesn't have such a negative effect. I have become more wary of plant foods as a result. I probably have some level of tolerance that I cannot exceed. Perhaps, I may do better without any plant phenols/sterols.

I had suspicions about plant polyphenols when I became aware of compounds such as tannins and phytic acid. Even tannins and phytic acid are technically antioxidants and we know that these are not good. It seems the term is being thrown around recklessly as a cheap advertising scheme and the public is not aware of the entire story.

Phytosterols probably affect the P450 complex also.

Currently, I am a person without a purpose. I don't really know what I want to do with my life. Hopefully I will get an idea when I go back to school. I have an interest in helping people improve their health, but I don't know if people will listen or if I can be successful at it.  :( I wish I actually had some kind of talent...

This song should explain how I often feel. It's like he is commentating on my life.
