I found the Instant Pot Duo seems to have a yogurt warmer setting that can range from 86 to 109.4° F which sounds good to me, but it's $80.

I agree with a pressure cooker. You can use an Ninja Instant Pot or something similar and get the same broth in 2 hours.

I've read bad things about contaminants in the ceramic liners in slow cookers. I think it's different heavy metals. Not something you want to add to bone broth you're using to rebuild health.

Be careful if you have any issues with histamines or oxalates. Slow cooked bone broths are high histamine (pressure cooking helps cut this way down). If you have issues with oxalate the glycine in bone broths can add to oxalate load in the body. Overall bone broth is super healthy but contraindicated for some people.

I don't know if I have issues with histamines or oxalates.  All I know is that no matter what I eat, I constantly break out in acne.  I tried to do a 2 week long bone broth fast (I didn't even make it a full week) as an elimination diet type of thing.  During the time I had nothing but bone broth, even though it was a processed bone broth, I had no break outs for the first time in my life.  I couldn't keep it up though because I wasn't getting enough calories and feel super weak and tired all the time.  I tried doing just bone broth + raw milk, with a blue rare seared steak every so often, so I could get enough calories, and then coffee.  But once my cycle came up again (pms with really really bad cramps as well) I broke out horribly bad.  With cystic acne which I haven't gotten in a long time.  I'm still drinking tons of bone broth and trying to limit what I eat but I'm feeling like crap, weak and shakey.  One good thing since I started drinking tons of bone broth though, is my nails seem a lot stronger and don't break as easily.  I like that a lot since I like to grow my nails out long, but they always break all the time. 

I've tried eliminating so many things yet I still break out all the time.  I did fully raw paleo, which helped the most, since I started it from a SAD diet, but I still broke out.  I tried the WAI diet(twice), which was fully raw as well, and it helped a lot but still never fully healed.  I tried eliminating dairy from my diet, still broke out.  I tried eliminating plants from my diet, still break out.  I'm mostly carnivore right now, eating mainly bone broth, egg yolks, raw milk, raw cheese, raw butter.  Still breaking out.  When I eat steak, which is only a few times a week right now, I season with garlic and pepper, and lightly sear it because I don't like cold meat.  I used to sear it in butter, tried not searing it in butter(or anything), still break out.  Right now I'm trying to go a week without any sugar, besides the sugars in raw milk (+cheese and butter), to see if that will help.  Limiting my dairy carbs to keto levels.  I'm still breaking out, 6 days in.  I'm on day 4 with no steak, in case it's the garlic/pepper/searing that's the problem, still breaking out.  I miss my coffee with sugar.  I'm tired all the time.  I hate this.  I wish I could just be a normal human being and eat normal food without having all these problems.  I don't even need junk food, I just wanna eat steak and eggs every day with some raw milk to drink.  Coffee with sugar every so often.  Maybe a burger bowl once in a while, with raw onions on top.  I miss fruit.  I don't need veggies or grains, never liked them, don't eat them.  I want some sushi, too.  Sashimi actually, I don't need the rice, just give me some raw salmon and tuna.  I'm tired of all of this, I'm about ready to just give up on life and live with being ugly and in constant pain and depressed because I look more like a spotted fricken hyena than a human being.  cause oh yeah I got tons of spotted hyper pigmentation acne? scars all over my body as well.  maybe haha, maybe going vegan would actually be the thing to cure me.  that would be the one thing I still have never eliminated yet, is animal foods.  Might as well be fruitarian then though, because I hate veggies and grains. 

Anyways, long story short, I wanted to try a bone broth elimination diet but the bone broths in the stores are all high in protein and low in fat and low in calories, plus have a bunch of random veggies mixed in, so I wanna make my own bone broth with only raw marrow bones that still have the marrow in them, so I can get all the good fats and stuff from the marrow and get more calories as well, plus some raw apple cider vinegar as an acid to help break down the bones.  But I don't wanna overcook it so I just wanted suggestion on a slow cooker that actually has a low enough temperature of like 100 or 150 degrees (F) that isn't too expensive, cause all the cheap ones I looked at only had settings of "low, medium, high, warm" and don't actually say a temperature on them.

I'm not sure where else to post this since technically it isn't raw, so I figured off-topic was the safest..  But I want to try to make my own bone broths and I'm trying to find the best way to make it without overcooking it!  I also live with my Dad and he said he is not comfortable with me leaving the stove on all night the couple of times I tried making my own bone broth on the stove before.

I've been thinking a slow cooker would probably be the easiest solution since they are made for cooking foods at low temperatures over long periods of time, the main problem is that most of them seem to only have settings for low-medium-high-warm and don't show any sort of actual temperature control.  The reviews on the cheaper ones as well seem to mention that the slow cookers are too hot, boiling and burning the foods when left for hours even on low, and I definitely don't want that to happen!  I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for a slow cooker that has a temperature control that goes low enough to not destroy the broth too much.

I also don't know what's the lowest temperature you can even make bone broth on, even if I could find a good slow cooker that goes down to low enough temps, what's a good temp?  would 100°F or 150°F be too low?  too high?  So far I've mainly just been drinking pre-packaged bone broths, but I'd like to be able to make my own without all the extra ingredients like salt and veggies that are in most bone broths.  So far my idea is just to put raw grass-fed beef marrow bones with raw apple cider vinegar and water into the slow cooker and cook for 24-48 hours on the lowest possible temperature.  I don't know if that's the best way to make it or not lol.

I just started back on raw beef tripe smoothies and I could tell the difference in the way my skin felt by the end of the day. My joints didn't hurt as much after my cycling class either. Word of caution they are about the grossest thing you could ever imagine. Put some Worchestershire sauce in it this morning and it was still gross but at least I got it down without major concentration of not puking it up.

I buy ten pounds of tripe at a time and my butcher grinds it up for me into tripe burger. That helps a lot. I used to burn up a ton of blenders before I had them do it.

Yeah, if it in any way makes me want to gag, I'm not going to be able to do it.  I can barely get down my egg yolks, and it makes me want to avoid eating them at all.

I don't eat dairy and I still get a zit now and then. I think it might be from eating lightly seared steaks. After all they are technically fried if only for less than 2 minutes.

I have not eaten any cooked foods for exactly 4 weeks now though, and I still am having skin problems.  First 2 weeks I did very strict WAI diet with no more than 2 egg yolks/3oz of fish per day, but there was pretty much no change to my skin besides it feeling softer.  I bought a 10oz grass-fed steak and 1 gallon of raw grass-fed milk at the store the next day and ate the whole steak raw and drank the gallon of milk over the next week, but still had no improvement, if anything it got slightly worse with a few new cystic-like popping up.  I did not buy anymore milk after that and went back to WAI for the 4th week, but without the restrictions on egg yolks and fish.  Also ate a bit of onion this past week because it's one of the few "veggies" I actually like and I wanted to and I figure it wouldn't hurt.  My skin does finally seem to be improving a tiny bit over the past week, but can't quite tell yet.  My Bday is in 2 days now so we'll see how much that messes me up, lol.

I think the dairy could be the cause of your acne..? Maybe try ordering some fresh beef fat. I just received 20 pounds of amazingly yellow backfat from Amos Miller and it is delightful.

Yeah, besides the 1 gallon I bought I haven't had anymore dairy.  I've been back on a bit more strict WAI again, so egg yolks, fish meat, and fruit for me, back to olive oil too.  Thought I ate a little bit of raw onion too because I love it and figure it can't hurt that much.  I've been kinda low on my calories lately though, the past few days I seem to only be eating 900 or so calories so I'm worried I might not be eating enough, even though I'm not that hungry.  Also seems like my hair is falling out more than usual so I want to eat more animal foods to help that.

As far as the back fat goes with ordering online, one problem I have is that I live in Southern California and anything that gets delivered and possibly left on my doorstep is gonna get super hot.  Also, I'm pretty picky with my animal foods and if it doesn't taste right to me I'm not gonna eat it and I don't want to waste money on it.  If I can get less than 20lbs of it delivered and more like a sample of it for cheap, I might consider.  My Birthday is coming up pretty soon too, and since my skin hasn't really improved all that much if at all, I'm gonna have a cheat day for my Birthday since my Dad usually takes me out to dinner and I don't want to be stuck eating only raw fish, I want a STEAK.  But I think I've had a pretty good 4 weeks raw, and will be going back on raw again after my birthday, just hoping it doesn't mess up my skin too much.  Might also buy just a little more raw milk to help with digestion of the cooked foods, because it's helped me with stomach aches in the past.

An update, I finished my 2 weeks strictly on the WAI acne diet and I still have acne.  I bought a steak and ate it raw!  Proud of myself for that, haven't eaten a completely raw steak in a long time.  But I also bought a gallon of raw milk.  I stopped eating the olive oil so I have been on completely 100% raw with no oils for another week, and if anything my acne got a little worse.  =(  Getting a bit more cystic-like acne now and I don't know why.  Maybe the milk?  But there's not much other easy way to get a good source of fatty calories.  It would be nice if I could find a good source of fresh grass-fed bone marrow because I love it, but I've only been able to find grain-fed or frozen grass-fed and both tasted disgusting to me.  =(

Just feeling discouraged again after 3 weeks of raw eating and my skin hasn't improved at all.

There are pitfalls on the Wai diet.  I tried it some years ago.

Fat and sugar glycate, and and cause problems on a cellular level.  Read about it.

Fruit has high amounts of fructose, can cause fatty liver. 

Moderator back then had to consume extra white sugar mixed into his orange juice to stay full of energy.  Should tell you something.

So, pay attention to any signs, and, they, like many deficiencies, can take a while to evidence.

I'm only trying it again to, yet again, try to clear up my skin.  Luckily, I'm a small woman trying to lose just a couple pounds so my calorie needs are quite a bit lower than most people, the 2 egg yolks, one avocado, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil are already nearly half of my daily calories.  I don't need to sip Orange Juice with added sugar to hit my calorie intake, plus I'd rather take more fats than sugars and eat an extra avocado or drink extra olive oil if I'm lacking in calories, but 1200 calories isn't hard to hit.  Luckily also this time around, my cravings aren't nearly so bad, and easily ignored.  I think it's partially because this time I included the olive oil, when last time I didn't.

Also, I haven't really been eating raw for a while now, though I barely cook my steaks I still blue-rare them because I prefer them warmed a bit with some garlic and pepper.  I also slip into eating junk foods a lot too, especially when I'm low on money.  Wai diet is probably the easiest and cheapest way to eat 100% raw (if you consider the cold pressed olive oil raw) and I never finished my 2 weeks of acne sample diet before.  I mostly only get breakouts around my chin/mouth these days, so I'm hoping the 2 weeks can clear the rest of my face up.  Although, it's been a full week now and although my skin is feeling extra soft and good the last couple days, I haven't quite seen too much improvement on my face yet.  Hopefully the next week will show some more, better improvement, but regardless after the 2 weeks I will reassess and see if I want to continue on the diet or not for another week.  It's not a diet I want to stay on permanently, just until (if) I clear up before reintroducing foods one at a time.

I had extreme diarrhea and moderate stomach pain whenever I ate anything for the following 2 months. Anything I ate gave me stomach pain and got passed as water within 20-30 minutes. However, when I saw this was happening, I started trying all sorts of different things, including mild fasting and even junk food, I even tried having nothing but 7up, in an attempt to make it stop. It didn't. Maybe that made things worse. I don't know.

I had gotten something like this a couple times before, too.  Anything I ate cause stomach pains and discomfort, and bad diarrhea.  I found that the only thing that helped settle my stomach and not cause pain or problems was to drink raw milk.  I know another time my mom thought she had food poisoning again (she'd been in the hospital for it a few times before) I gave her a glass of my raw milk to drink and it helped her a lot and she got better just fine.  I know most people on here don't advocate for raw dairy, but I would highly recommend it for any bouts of possible food poisoning.  Though, I guess everyone is different.

I only got sick when I was eating raw foods and also ate SAD foods, I'm pretty sure the SAD food was the cause since I only got sick after eating the SAD food.

but, I say if you ate the raw chicken and felt just fine, then go ahead an eat as much of it as you want.  If you happen to feel sick and get diarrhea from it, try drinking some raw milk (or raw kefir if you can get it) for it.  If that doesn't help, then you might need to fast.

I do HAVE a job here, where I am now.  Which is very lucky for me to have this job, which is why I wouldn't want to move somewhere else far away from anyone I know and try to find a whole new job and a new house.  Here, I live with my dad, he has a really nice house, and I don't have to pay rent for now, just help pay for the internet, which I will never get rid of.

and previously I had been just worrying about my finances, I got food stamps to help me buy food and I was eating a bunch of junk, mostly rice pasta and cheese, as well as accepting free fast food whenever my dad offered to buy me any.  But my breakouts were getting worse and worse, and I was seriously getting tired of having a crappier and crappier face every day, and not only that but this cough which hasn't left me for 6 months, I wanted to get rid of that too, since the doctors pretty much don't know what's wrong with me and keep guessing just allergies and asthma.  I wanted to get rid of all that, and try a raw diet again, and hope it would cure my acne and my cough.  I also figured a WAI diet would be both the easiest diet to start out on with raw, as well as the most accepted by others, and the best diet to get on for clearing my acne.  However, I did not foresee having a difficulty in buying never frozen wild caught tuna fish, which is the raw fish I like the best, as well as not being able to eat enough fruit to give me enough calories.  I thought I would be able to gorge myself on sweet fruits, but it seems like I am craving too much fat now, which I always crave a lot of.  Even after allowing myself to eat more egg yolks and to eat seared steaks, I am still craving fats like crazy.

I'm getting tired of this... I got a breakout on my chin still, even with such a restrictive diet.  Though one breakout is a million times better than the 5 I got after eating the bowl of soup after almost passing out.  But because of the breakout I didnt eat any steak today, just egg yolks and fruit.  But what really sucks is that I've been having a hard time breathing today and a stuffy nose.  Right now im even trying to sleep but i cant because my sinuses are sore and my nose is running.  I thought at least my allergy symptoms would go away with all the junk I was eating, especially all the dairy because I was drinking a ton of milk and eating a ton of cheese.   I'm also craving cheese and fast food like crazy, I just want to eat taco bell and mac and cheese and hamburger helper and all this fatty junk food all the time.   I'm also, grossly, *dont read anymore if you dont wanna hear gross* having a LOT of gas lately, like seriously every 5 minutes gas.  like, Ive normally been gassy a lot but I have never had this much in my life.  and slightly constipated, i dont think all this fiber from the fruit is helping me. 

but yeah sorry just a little rant.  im tired but i cant sleep because of my stupid nose and felt like ranting.  I dont know what to do because i dont know what to eat.  EVERYTHING makes me break out no matter what, even on 100% raw.

I don't have any money at all, I'm actually like $2,500 in debt because I lost my job for over a year, I couldn't find a new job.  I was still spending like $500+ a month on food trying to eat raw and healthy, so I ended up in a lot of debt.  I have to pay off that debt before I can do anything, and I also don't want to move anywhere I don't know anyone.  How am I going to go somewhere completely new and find a place to live?  it's impossible.  I'm also terrible at finding a new job, obviously taking a year to get one.

I live about an hour or two away from the beach but I can't be going there everyday, I can't afford that gas.  I don't like the taste of seaweed and stuff, I even bought some raw seaweed before and I don't like the taste of it.  Too salty or something, and I never did like the taste of sea salt.  and I know we always had iodine salt in the cupboard when I was growing up, plus iodine is naturally in egg yolks right?  I'll be trying to down at least 6 egg yolks a day.  Organic is usually too expensive.  Also I have no idea where I would even buy the salts from.  I can't even afford it.

Why not look at the name of the ranch that they come from and call/email/visit/google to see how the quail are raised. You might luck out, but don't get your expectations too high.

Pretty sure the ones at my work are from a Japanese company and I probably won't be able to read the label, if I could even find them.  I might if the label is only hiragana though.  I also already tried to look up the company they get their meat from, Day-Lee, and I can't find out how they raise their beef cattle.  Most likely grain-fed fedlots but the beef they get is supposed to be high quality so I wondered if maybe there was grass-fed, but I have no idea.

Do any of you guys eat quail eggs?  Where do you get them?  Are they safer or more dangerous to eat raw than chicken eggs?  Are they healthier than chicken eggs?  How do they taste in comparison to chicken eggs? 

I'm thinking of maybe trying quail eggs, I'm trying to do a WAI diet to start off coming back to raw foods, though I'd probably just eat the quail eggs whole instead of separating the yolks like I do with chicken eggs.  I've seen quail eggs at the asian/phillipino(looks mexican to me) market and was wondering if I should try them, they also have quail egg shooters at my work(japanese owned sushi restaurant) and if I like them I might buy them at work too.

Oh yeah, and I don't eat meat and fruit together at the same time.  I will wait at least an hour to 2 hours after eating animal foods before I drink water or eat any fruit, and I usually don't eat animal foods directly after eating fruit either.

Yes, I know most eggs are trash, what am I supposed to eat then?  Shall I become a fruitarian?  Oh wait, most fruit is pesticide-full unripe overbred trash too.  Vegetables are the same pesticide-full overbred trash full of indigestible fiber and anti-nutrients.  Dairy is un-paleo trash.  Grain is the worst trash.  Should I eat nothing but cooked grass-fed beef muscle meat then?  I'm sure I won't develope any deficiencies there!

and I can't just afford to pay $50 for supplements that may or may not work(most likely won't work), not mattering how long they last because I certainly would forget about them after a month.  I actually can't even afford to buy food, I'm on food stamps which only gives me a bit less than $200 a month to buy food, and will not buy supplements for me.

Also I don't see how I could be deficient in iodine my ENTIRE life, let alone lately when for one I'm eating raw egg yolks and raw fish, and for two, I have been drinking milk, eating eggs, lots of cheese, and lots of salty foods, and iodine containing foods a LOT for most of my life.  I also do not have a goiter.  And if I start to eat plenty of bananas everyday, will that give me enough potassium and magnesium?  How about dates, avocados, and chocolate?  I need food sources of it if I want to be able to afford it.

Probably all the smog.  It's pretty terrible here sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised if I got lung cancer despite never having smoked a cigarette in my life.

Also the grain, fed to OP and Calravale farms cows, is grass grain, it is explained on Claravale farms' website here:

Wow, you're really pretty!  I wish my eyes would turn blue, but it seems more likely if they changed colour, they would become hazel like yours.  That would be crazy if my eyes became so green!  I know my parents would freak out too.  I don't know if I could stick to a 100% raw diet long enough to get an eye colour change though, but here's hoping!

It was weird, because my head felt numb and my hearing got dull, and I got a ringing in my ears, but I wasn't really dizzy, just my head felt heavy I guess, and everything felt unreal.  I also had a hard time breathing, I remember looking up and gasping for air but when I couldn't get any and everything started closing in on me, I figured it wouldn't be a good idea to faint in the water where I could possibly drown so I got out and laid down on the floor where it was cooler.  I later ended up eating a bowl of this thai rice noodle soup stuff with 5 eggs in it, so the eggs ended up getting mostly cooked, but that's all I really had to eat.  Next morning I woke up with some new breakouts on my chin though.  =(

I've never gotten light-headed like that before though, even when I first started trying out a raw diet, but I'm pretty sure the problem was too hot of a shower.  I felt perfectly fine while walking around before the shower, and I felt fine through pretty much my whole shower, but I was taking a hotter than normal shower.  Only towards the end I almost fainted, and I would have fainted if I hadn't got out and lay down.  This cough has also been a recent thing, though lasting for 5 or 6 months now, I have never had a cold last so long before.  Since it had lasted a month or two I decided to go to the doctor because it didn't seem like it was going to go away on it's own and I was wheezing a lot and having a hard time breathing sometimes, so I thought I'd see if the doctors could figure out what it was.  The medicines they gave did seem to help a little bit, my cough isn't as bad and I don't wheeze as much anymore, but it still won't go away completely.  Also I got an inhaler which really helps me to breathe, as I seem to be having a harder time breathing lately.  I took my inhaler after I almost fainted too because I felt like I wasn't getting enough air.

Supplements are something I always end up forgetting to take, I tried taking supplements before but they didn't make me feel any different and I ended up forgetting to take them most of the time.  Plus they are expensive and I am poor.  I can't find good clean sources of fat(besides dairy) or organs, and the grain-fed supermarket stuff just makes me want to puke.  I'm pretty sure I've overdosed on calcium enough from all the dairy I liked to eat for fat, I wouldn't want to eat egg shells. 

as for a well-rounded healthy lifestyle, it's rather difficult for me because I have such a hard time breathing that exercise is something painful for me and I tend to avoid it when I can, and being lazy doesn't help, I've had breathing problems all my life so I'm also rather weak from lack of exercise(PE was always my worst class).  Sleep I'm not sure is a problem, I can easily sleep 10 hours a day, though I tend to have trouble falling asleep but likewise have trouble waking up. 

But trust me, when I first started out my 100% raw diet a few years ago, I kept changing what I ate a lot trying to find any combination that didn't cause me to break out, and yet I still always had problems with my skin.  The only reason I'm trying to stick to this dietary dogma is because I'm sick of always having horrible skin and breaking out everywhere, and this WAI diet seems like something I'll be able to do (unable to gag down raw meat anymore) as well as something that's more acceptable by other people.  In all honesty I could really care less about optimal health, the only thing I really care about is not breaking out anymore.  I'm sick and tired of being disgusted by my own skin every single day of my entire life.  I wouldn't be able to stick to any dietary dogma for years like that anyways, my initial goal was to stick to this WAI diet for 2 to 3 weeks, see if it cleared up my skin, and if it did then I would slowly introduce one food item at a time, one week at a time to see what exactly breaks me out and what doesn't.  If it didn't clear up my skin within 3 weeks like I was hoping, then I wouldn't know what to do and would end the diet because it wasn't working.

That said, I've decided to add steaks along with my WAI diet, though I can't eat them raw or plain, I need to at least sear them and season with garlic and pepper which I hope isn't going to cause me to break out.  I suppose I need something more substantial to eat on this diet, I don't think I was getting enough calories, and definitely not enough fat, and that it was part of the reason I almost fainted.  I'm not going to stick to the WAI diet rule of (for women) only 2 egg yolks OR 1.8 oz of raw fish per day, as it does not seem enough.  I am thinking to eat anywhere from 4 and up egg yolks, AND seared steak or raw fish every day, along with as much fruit as I want.  Sans steak or fish, I would up the amount of egg yolks I eat in one day, as steak and fish can get expensive, but egg yolks are cheap.  I will easily loose too much weight if I do not eat enough calories, and fruit is something I obviously cannot eat enough of having already lost 4 lbs after starting the WAI diet, after being unable to loose even a single pound for months.
